“In a battle you should focus on what's important. As mercenaries, we're regularly putting our lives on the line. Getting distracted with unnecessary things will land you in an early grave.”
—Jeralt talking to Byleth

Jeralt is a character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He is the father of the protagonist Byleth.

ProfileEdit

Jeralt is a legendary knight considered the strongest in history. He was once known as the "Blade Breaker" of the Knights of Seiros, but left the order to become the leader of an independent mercenary company. His wife is buried within Garreg Mach Monastery.

Early in Three Houses, he travels to the monastery alongside Byleth and rejoins the Knights of Seiros.

EtymologyEdit

Jeralt is a derivative of the Germanic name Gerald. "Ger" means "spear" and "ald" means "rule".

Trivia Edit

  • Jeralt shares his Japanese voice actor, Akio Ōtsuka, with Fates' King Garon.
  • Jeralt shares some similarity with Greil of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Like Jeralt, Greil was also in the past a high-ranking member of an order of knights as one of Daein's Four Riders, and he left his knighthood behind to eventually become the leader of a mercenary company. And just as Jeralt is the father of the Three Houses protagonist Byleth, Greil is also the father of the Path of Radiance protagonist, Ike.
