Not to be mistaken for Kurthnaga.

“Someone murdered Prince Kurth while he was returning from the Isaac campaign”
Claud

Kurth(Also translated as Kult) was the Prince of Grandbell and the son of Emperor Azmur. He is also the lover of Cigyun and the father of Diadora.

After the death of Duke Victor of Velthomer, who killed himself when he learned that his wife Cigyun was having an affair with Kurth, he began secretly aiding Alvis, Cigyun's son from Victor. Also, he apparantly does not let go of his feelings for Cigyun even by the start of the game (about 17 years later), since court officials were trying to get him to get married to perserve the Naga holy blood, but to no avail.

Kurth later led the Grandbell army against Isaac, but was assassinated by Langobalt. Afterward, Reptor and Langobalt pinned the murder on Kurth's loyal aide Vylon, and also named Siglud, among others, as conspirators in the crime.

Etymology

'Kurth' is a possible romanization of 'Kurt', a name which means "full of wisdom". This is befitting of Heim's descendant.

Trivia

  • In Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Kurthnaga's name is a combination of Kurth's and his divine ancestor Naga's names. In his first appearance in Radiant Dawn, Kurthnaga takes on the name of Kurth.
  • In the games, Kurth never learns of his daughter Diadora's existence prior to his death. In the Oosawa Mitsuki manga, however, it's stated that he has known about his child for a short while (though not about their gender or name), and plans to organize a search party... but he, Vylon and Ring are ambushed, and Kurth dies before ever meeting Diadora, who is later mindwiped and brought to Grandbell by Manfroy.
