Lorenz receives a letter from his father, Count Gloucester, who wishes for his son to resolve a territorial dispute that is about to escalate to violence. ”
—Opening Narration

Land of the Golden Deer is Lorenz's Paralogue Chapter in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This chapter takes place on the Plains in Alliance Territory, and is available on all routes during White Clouds after completing Chapter 6, if Lorenz was recruited.

Story[]

Lorenz is seen enjoying a fresh cup of tea in the dining hall when Cyril comes up to him and gives him a letter. Lorenz finds out it is a letter from his father informing him about a planned attack by a lord named Acheron on Gloucester territory over an old border dispute. To Lorenz's father, Acheron is beneath his jurisdiction, so he has bestowed the responsibility of dealing with him to his son. Not wanting to have to confront Acheron on his own, he asks the Professor for help in dealing with him.

Upon arriving in the battle, Acheron has already begun his attack and is ordering his thieves to steal as much territory and as many valuables as they can find. Despite his haughty behavior, upon his defeat, he will immediately surrender and beg to be spared. Lorenz will then thank the Professor for his help and report the outcome of the battle to his father.

Upon returning to the Monastery, he tells the Professor that Acheron has signed a treaty promising that he will no longer cause trouble on Gloucester territory, however he states that knowing Acheron, he will likely disregard the treaty and attempt to do so again in the future. He also reveals that after reporting to his father, he was deemed worthy to bear the Hero's Relic of his family, Thyrsus. Despite his rousing success, Lorenz still feels uneasy about wielding a weapon as powerful as this, and decides to give it to the Professor for the time being. He will thank the Professor for his assistance once again before taking his leave.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Enemies on the outskirts of the map begin advancing towards the objective on turn 5.

Acheron initially does not move but begins moving on turn 7. (Maddening)

Careful positioning and use of the Impregnable Wall Gambit can help your units survive the initial onslaught of enemies, as the fortress entrance is three spaces wide. Be mindful of approaching Pegasus Knights, as they will be able to reach the interior of the fort, but will not be able to capture the stronghold until flying over the walls.

Trivia[]

  • If Lorenz is recruited into the other houses by Byleth, he'll acknowledge in the beginning cutscene that he left the Golden Deer House.
