—In-game description, Shin Monshō
The Laundry Pole (ものほしざお Monohoshizao) is a Lance that hails from Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem. A common prize from Everyone's Conditions, the Laundry Pole is evidently the weakest lance that exists within the game. This is in line with its role as a tool that facilitates the drying of wet laundry, rendering it impractical to be utilised as a combat weapon.
The Laundry Pole is analogous to the Obtuse Sword, the Frying Pan, the Toy Bow and Ember, in which they all function as "joke" weapons and are ill-suited for effective combat.

Trivia[]
The Japanese swordsman Sasaki Kojirou famously wielded a katana called Monohoshizao ("Laundry Pole") due to its length, as it was roughly 20 cm longer than the average katana. However, the item in Fire Emblem Fates is not a katana, but humorously an actual laundry pole.
