Lenster is one of the five castles of the Manster District, and it is where the descendants of the Crusader Noba reside.

Its Lance Ritter knight brigade, dubbed the "Wall of Lenster", is where most of the Manster District's strength comes from, and it's thanks to it that the Manster District has resisted Thracia's consecutive invasions. However, after the Yied Massacre, half of Lenster's lance knight brigade is decimated, Prince Cuan and his wife Ethlin are killed, and the Gae Bolg is lost, so Thracia is able to successfully able to conquer the Manster District, and perhaps as a symbolic measure, Thracia burns Lenster Castle.

Soon afterward, the Kingdom of Grandbell (soon to be the Grandbell Empire) invades the Manster District, and forces Thracia into a peace treaty in which Grandbell annexes the Manster District, including Lenster Castle, and the country is renamed the Northern Kingdom of Thracia.

Prince Leaf eventually manages to free Lenster Castle from the grip of the empire, but King Bloom of Freege, who is in Alster Castle, resists Leaf's attempts to oust him, and most of Leaf's fighting force is decimated, thus Leaf has to hold out in Lenster Castle till Celice's army is able to attack Alster Castle.

After Celice's army defeats the Grandbell Empire, Lenster is made the capital of the New Kingdom of Thracia, under the newly King Leaf.
