—Lumera speaking to Alear in Chapter 3.
Lumera is a character from Fire Emblem Engage.
Profile[]
Lumera is the Divine Dragon Monarch and the mother of Alear. She's a hero who helped the humans in the war against the Fell Dragon a thousand years ago, saving the continent. For the next thousand years, Lumera watched over Alear, who was sleeping in the Somniel.

Upon hearing news of her child's awakening, Lumera arrives just as Alear was being assaulted by malevolent creatures. Using her draconic powers, she dispatches the remaining creatures. She is shocked that Alear has amnesia, but nonetheless embraces her child and expresses joy that they are awake after so long. After returning to Lythos Castle, Lumera reveals to them the existence of twelve Emblem Rings and the duties of the Divine Dragons in collecting them every one thousand years to Summon the latent Emblems inside. The last time this occurred, Lumera used their power to seal away the Fell Dragon. She also decides to train Alear in combat in hopes of reawakening some of their memories. She uses the Ring of the Holy Knight to further test their strengths. Alear is able to clear her trial and after the fight, she attempts to give them an ornamental ring that she had promised to them prior to their slumber for their birthday. Alear, feeling guilty for accepting a present they cannot recall, asks Lumera to hold onto it until they regain their memories, which she accepts.

That night, for the first time in a thousand years, Lythos Castle is besieged by enemies attempting to raid the Ring Vault where the Emblem Rings are stored. After Alear and their forces arrive, they are ambushed by a cloaked figure. Lumera appears in her dragon form and intercepts a powerful spell. Though she is able to muster enough energy to repel this cloaked figure, she is severely injured. Despite Framme's best attempt to heal her, healing at least her immediate wounds, Lumera begins to die as she had exhausted much of her Divine Dragon powers to reawaken Alear. In her death throes, she gives Alear the Ring of the Holy Knight and tasks them with completing her mission to gather the twelve rings. Heartbroken, Alear pleads with her to stay with them, but Lumera can only make Alear pinky swear to complete the mission just before she passes.
After Lumera's death, Sombron resurrects her as a Corrupted. When Sombron revitalizes his full power, Alear and their forces seek out his Fell Dragon shards in order to weaken him. Veyle, who can sense the shards, discovers that the last shard is protected by Corrupted Lumera. Though Veyle attempts to destroy it on her own to spare Alear from having to face their mother, she is incapable of doing so. Lumera attacks her in a rage as it was her who caused her death. Alear makes a timely rescue and Lumera is overjoyed by their reunion, trying to sway then to join her as a Corrupted so they can finally be together forever and even extending the offer to Veyle now knowing that she is Alear's sister. Alear refuses and resolves to free her from Sombron's influence. Lumera is defeated after a grueling battle, and free from Sombron's influence, is given one final moment to show her child affection and encouragement to save the world before her Corrupted body vanishes.Fell Xenologue[]

Personality[]
Lumera is the kind and considerate queen of Lythos and a beloved figure throughout all of Elyos. She dearly loves her child Alear, having spent a thousand years patiently waiting during their slumber. Their eventual awakening brought her great joy and a deep desire to make up for lost time.

As the last true Divine Dragon during the war between the Divine and Fell Dragons, Lumera was lonely before she met Alear. Their mutual feelings of loneliness and in particular Alear's jadedness due to their role in Sombron's faction lead to the two developing a loving parent-child-like bond. It is due to this that Lumera was ready to perform the extremely risky rite of reviving Alear at great cost of her health, though she kept her deterioration a secret from the people of Elyos until the very end.
As a Corrupted, Lumera still professes adoration for Alear, whom she still considers her child. However, she is also in Sombron's thrall and serves him as the guardian of the final Fell Dragon Shard without question. When confronted by Veyle, Lumera expresses hatred towards her killer and jealousy for the time that Veyle was able to spend with Alear that she could not. She goes so far as to label Veyle a defect; the same word Sombron uses to refer to his children who failed to meet his expectations.

What?! Oh no… It seems that this is the Lumera who was brought back as a Corrupted by the Fell Dragon Sombron after her death! | |||

Vs. Alear
- Alear: Mother!
- Corrupted Lumera: Here we are at last, Alear... How about we train here? You'll be the one fighting. The Emblem— Ugh...
- Alear: What? You said that back at...
- Corrupted Lumera: The Emblem lends you their... Ugh... No! These memories... I wanted to spend time with you. To chat for hours, take long walks together, share meals... And then... Then...
- Alear: Stop, please! It's all right. There are lots of things I wish we'd done too. We weren't able to. But that's OK. It's better than seeing you suffer like this. You can still surrender, Mother. Please. For me.
- Corrupted Lumera: No. Lord Sombron gave me more time with my child. I refuse to waste it. I won't let anyone take that away. Not even you. I waited for so long! A thousand years of waiting!
Vs. Vander
- Corrupted Lumera: It's been a while, Vander.

Vs. Veyle
- Corrupted Lumera: Here to kill me. Again. Why another attempt? You must know the result will be the same.
- Veyle: I still have to try. No matter how many times I fail, I'm not going to give up. My sibling taught me I can shape the future for the better!
- Corrupted Lumera: Ah, my child taught you that? How I envy you. That memory... that time together... Everyone, it seems, has a future. And hopes and dreams too. Why should you get such treasures will I'm denied them? It's not fair! Be gone, once and for all! Away with you!

- Lumera shares her English voice actress, Julia McIlvane, with Brunnya and Echidna from The Binding Blade as they appear in Heroes.
- Lumera shares some similarities with Mikoto:
- Both are the mother of the protagonist.
- Both died protecting their child.
- Both were resurrected and controlled by the main antagonist.
