“Creatures of great strength and speed. They pursue their prey with axes and bows.”
—In-game description from The Sacred Stones.

The Maelduin (マグダイル Makudairu, lit. Macdaire) is an enemy-only Monster class that is exclusive to The Sacred Stones. The promoted form of the Tarvos class, Maelduins are centaur-like creatures that pursue their enemies with Axes and Bows as their weapons of choice. Maelduins are distinguished from their unpromoted counterparts by a purple-coloured torso.

Overview

Combat

Maelduins are similar to Tarvos in terms of combat, possessing higher stats than their unpromoted counterparts (significantly higher strength and HP). The only notable difference is that Maelduins are capable of using bows, so fliers should avoid them unless they are using the Fili Shield. They are somewhat stronger Rangers, but sacrifice Speed and Skill for a stronger offense.

Always check the weapons of the Maelduins before battling them, as they may be carrying either bows or axes.
