“At that time, I had the opportunity to get to know Ms. Hirota, who is responsible for the visuals... I can still remember it now. When I saw her artwork, a bolt of electricity ran all over my body. I thought, "This is it!" From there, I had her draw illustrations as a test, and through her work I saw my ideas change into reality. I'm very satisfied with all that she's made for us. That's how we got Ms. Hirota to work on Genealogy of the Holy War, and we've also had her start working on our next title. ”
Shouzou Kaga, regarding Mayumi Hirota

Mayumi Hirota (広田 麻由美 Hirota Mayumi) was an artist who had worked on various Fire Emblem media. She first contributed to Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, and later also served as the character designer for Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. Her artwork was featured in the artbook Fire Emblem Treasure and in the original Fire Emblem TCG. When Shouzou Kaga left Intelligent Systems to design TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga at Enterbrain, Hirota was the game's illustrator. Hirota later worked with Kaga again on Vestaria Saga I, a freeware strategy RPG Kaga produced after retiring from the industry.

Hirota passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2018. Prior to her death, her original illustrations for Thracia 776 were set to be given a public debut at the Fire Emblem Expo in 2019. This exhibition went on as scheduled.
