The Missiletainn (ミステルトィン Misuterutin, Mysteltinn in the Japanese version) is a personal Sword that hails from Fire Emblem: Awakening, and is bound to Owain. Missiletainn plays a fairly significant role in spurring the events that transpire in Paralogue 5, where Owain, while on a quest to locate the legendary demon blade of yore, Mystletainn, is drawn to the Sage's Hamlet after hearing tell of the blade having surfaced in said location. By a twist of fate that may seem cruel to some, the blade in question turns out to be naught but a farcical imitation of the actual weapon, and Owain finds himself leaping into a foray launched on the local resident Sages by a group of bandits. Although the questionable legitimacy of Missletainn is made known to Owain by the Sage who passes it into his hands, that whom refers to it as a blade of "common make", his blissfully excessive adoration for the blade overshadows his faculties of comprehension. The dubious authenticity of Missiletainn is further compounded by the fact that the name of the weapon itself is a homophone of Mystletainn (albeit one that seems rather juvenile), alongside its in-game description referring to it as an "apocryphal brand".

from a Villager in Paralogue 5

The Missiletainn (ミステルトィン Misuterutin, Mysteltinn in the Japanese version) is a personal Sword that hails from Fire Emblem: Awakening, and is bound to Owain.

Missiletainn plays a fairly significant role in Paralogue 5, where Owain, while on a quest to locate the legendary Mystletainn, is drawn to the Sage's Hamlet after hearing tell of the blade having surfaced in said location. The blade in question turns out to be but a cheap replica of the actual weapon and although its status as a common blade is made known to Owain by the Sage who gives it to him, he insists on referring to it as if it were the Mystletainn. The dubious authenticity of Missiletainn is further compounded by the fact that the name of the weapon itself is a homophone of Mystletainn, alongside its in-game description referring to it as an "apocryphal brand".

Trivia

 • Missiletainn may be a reference to Excalipoor, a recurring joke weapon from the Final Fantasy series. Like Excalipoor, Missiletainn is a misspelled version of a powerful legendary weapon (Mystletainn/Excalibur), and is mistaken for the real thing by an enthusiastic weapon collector (Owain/Gilgamesh).
 • Missiletainn is the only character-specific weapon in Awakening to provide a bonus to a specific stat.
