Monster (モンスター, Monsutā) is a general term for inhuman enemies that first appeared in Fire Emblem Gaiden.

Overview[]

The origin and nature of monsters varies depending on the context of the games in which they appear. Often, but not always, they are created through magic tied to an antagonist, and many monster unit types are some manner of undead creature. Other monsters simply exist as part of nature and may take the form of a giant, feral beast. Some monsters are capable of using human weapons such as swords or lances, while others attack with parts of their body, such as claws and teeth. They typically have weakness to certain classes of weapons or unit class abilities, the specifics of which are dependent on both the monster type and the game in question.

In Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, monster forces are referred to as Terrors. Some types of Terrors can be summoned by units in the Guru Overclass, but are otherwise exclusively appear as enemies.
