Etymology[]
The weapon is designed from an O-mikuji, literally meaning "sacred lots". O-mikuji's are randomized fortune paper slips that supposedly predicts a person's level of luck in regards to several matters from health, fortune, life, etc. It is commonly found at most Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples in Japan and are popularly done at the start of a new year to predict one's luck for that year.
