The Nine-Tails (九尾の狐 Kyūbi no kitsune, lit. Nine-Tailed Fox in the Japanese version) is a combat shapeshifting class introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. The promoted form of the Kitsune class, the Nine-Tails is able to switch between humanoid and demonic fox forms with the aid of the concentrated power stored within Beaststones. Nine-Tails are considered to be the Hoshidan counterpart to the Wolfssegner class.

Etymology
A Kyūbi no Kitsune (九尾の狐) is a kitsune of advanced age. They are distinguished by fur that has turned silver-gold, alongside the attainment of powers rivaling those of a deity due to having grown a total of nine tails. These powers are ones that are omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.
