Noa is a character mentioned in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and the original bearer of the Crest of Noa. She was one of the Four Apostles.

Profile

After the Rite of Rising failed to revive the Goddess, she left in self-exilement Garreg Mach and eventually founded House Nuvelle in the Adrestian Empire after traversing through Fódlan's Fangs as part of her exilement.

Noa was well known for her magic; upon founding House Nuvelle, she created a spell to conceal the true nature of her Crest to protect her and her descendants, fearful that malevolent entities would try to take advantage of them. This spell caused her Crest to appear as Macuil's Crest, a Crest with a similar enough design as Noa's, instead, which was known in the Empire.

Etymology

Noa is both a masculine and feminine given name as well as a surname. In Israel, the name Noa (Hebrew: נוֹעָה‎) is a popular name for girls. It is a biblical name: in the Hebrew Bible, Noa was one of the Five Daughters of Zelophehad. It is an English version of the name nawaf in Arabic, meaning "higher" or "genius".
