Nolan joins Micaiah, Leonardo, and Edward in Part 1 - Chapter 1 as a Level 9 Fighter. Alongside Sothe, Nolan is the strongest of the Dawn Brigade fighters, and provides much needed protection for weaker units with his adequate defensive capabilities. Nolan has little trouble ascending to [[Warrior]] Class through experience gained in battle alone. Once Nolan reaches [[Reaver]] Class, he becomes an offensive powerhouse with high HP, albeit with defenses that are somewhat sub-par.

Nolan is a fighter that has high speed and skill growths; he is a great member of the Dawn Brigade, and will be your major powerhouse throughout your time of using the group. His Strength can be quite low, but his high HP and Speed will often make up for it by the time that he promotes. Let him get experience by weakening units for lower leveled units of the Dawn Brigade to kill, and you'll be all set. Also, his Magic growth is high for a Reaver so putting both Imbue and Renewal on him is wise.

“We've done what's right. We must believe, soldier on...”
— Nolan's Death quote

Nolan (ノイス, Noisu) is the official leader of the the Dawn Brigade, although Micaiah usually serves as leader instead. He is the oldest member of the Dawn Brigade, and acts like a father figure to best friends Edward and Leonardo, two other members of the Dawn Brigade. Edward and Leonardo think he is very old, they being young. He is an avid reader, as shown in an info conversation with Sothe in Part III. He is the only Fighter type character in Micaiah's party and receives his own unique axe, the Tarvos, at an info conversation before Chapter 3-6.

History

Nolan became a successful merchant at a young age, but lost his fortune and status when betrayed by his associates. Downtrodden, he lost faith in mankind and began living as a tramp in the back alleys of Daein. At first, he thought the wars were none of his business. However, upon learning of the blood of his fellow countrymen being spilled by the Begnion occupational army, Nolan is inspired to become a freedom fighter, intent on liberating Daein. He forms the Dawn Brigade to combat Begnion's oppression, with himself as the leader of the group.
