—In-game description, The Sacred Stones
The Ocean Seal (覇者の証 Hasha no akashi, lit. Conqueror's Proof) is a promotional item that debuts in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, permitting Pirates to promote into Berserkers.
In Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, the branching promotion system allows Pirates to use the Ocean Seal to alternatively promote into Warriors. In addition to this, the Ocean Seal also doubles as this game's equivalent of the Fell Contract, allowing for Thieves to either promote into Assassins or Rogues. Unlike in The Blazing Blade, both Thieves and Pirates can be promoted with the use of a Master Seal.
