—Pandreo in Chapter 12
Pandreo is a character from Fire Emblem Engage. He is head priest of a Solmic church, and one of Fogado's retainers.
Profile[]
Pandreo is a royal knight from Solm. He's Fogado's retainer and Panette's older brother. Pandreo's mother was a corrupt priestess who never took care of her children while his father was a drunkard. Due to this, his sister ran away from home. Not too long after she left, their parents went missing, supposedly leaving in a desperate search for Panette. Whether or not this was for legitimate concern for her or simply to keep appearances, Pandreo never learned why.
Without a leader for their family's church, Pandreo took it upon himself to run it in their absence. He would eventually meet Prince Fogado, who often came to the church for confession during his travels. Upon learning that Pandreo was searching for his missing sister—who had coincidentally become a retainer to Timerra—Fogado reveals his identity as prince, and offers Pandreo a job as his royal retainer, as well as a place in the Sentinels.
While performing Sentinel duties in the Tullah Desert, word reaches the Sentinels that an unidentified group had entered Solm from Elusia. Fogado goes off to investigate, leaving Pandreo and Bunet behind. Fogado returns to his retainers shortly after and introduces one of the travelers to be Alear, the Divine Dragon, much to Pandreo's shock.
In an alternate reality, Pandreo died. According to Fogado, he was slain right in front of him.
Personality[]
Pandreo enjoys life and loves to party. He is boisterously enthusiastic in keeping a lively energy about him, often howling when fired up. Although he does not seem serious, he is actually a very devoted and sincere clergyman. He is dedicated to make sure that everyone has a good time at his church and always thinking of ways to make everyone feel welcome. While his unorthodox services garner admonishment from his religious leaders, his church brings in hundreds of followers who enjoy his energetic services and joyful sermons. Reflecting Solm's open and free-spirited nature, Pandreo states that he is devoted to his faith towards all forms of Dragons, not just the Divine Dragons.
Despite having been separated for several years, Pandreo remains close to his younger sister Panette. When speaking with her, he requests that she speaks plainly with him and drop her eloquent tone, of which she agrees to do so, feeling comfortable in his presence to be herself. Like his sister, Pandreo holds negative feelings towards his parents and even stated that he believes that they are likely dead, having made no contact with them after they disappeared supposedly searching for Panette. It is also due to his parents' poor treatment of the two and dubious reputations that Pandreo decided to take over the church and assist others through his sincere faith in his religion.
In-Game[]

Similar to Kagetsu recruited in the previous chapter, Pandreo joins with enormous base stats for his join time and level, with good to excellent Magic, Dexterity, Speed, and Resistance that all allow him to readily contribute from his joining chapter. His Build is also unusually high for a Mage, able to wield very heavy Tomes and Follow-Up Attack with them, though his starting class, High Priest, means he cannot wield them right away. His growth rates are also solid and well-distributed, being weighted towards HP, Dexterity, Speed, and Resistance with acceptable Magic growth to allow him to scale well into the lategame. His primary flaw is his horrible Defense base and growths, and he will be very liable to being one-rounded and assassinated by fast physical foes when he is improperly positioned.
As mentioned, Pandreo's starting High Priest can only wield B-rank tomes, so he is usually well-served by an immediate class change to a more offensive role. Sage is an immediate option with his pre-existing proficiencies and gives him the best magical damage output of any unit in the game other than a heavily invested Anna - he is also the best wielder of the powerful Nova tome with his high Build and Speed, meaning he will eviscerate almost any opponent that does not have both high Speed and Resistance. As a bonus, his innate Staff proficiency lets him wield A-rank staffs with Sage. Mage Knight is also a very good option for extra mobility while still dealing out heavy damage with Bolganone, Levin Sword and Thoron.
Pandreo works well with any of the magic-oriented Emblem Rings - The Ring of the Caring Princess allows him to potentially attack an opponent a whopping 8 times in a single turn by combining Echo with a Nova tome, and Warp Ragnarok is a strong pseudo mobility option on him. The Ring of the Dawn Maiden amplifies his staff abilities immensely, especially if he is kept in his default class, and turns him into easily the game's strongest healer. The Ring of the Instructor is also a powerful offensive ring on him thanks to Thyrsus' passive benefits of additional range, letting him fire off 3-range Novas or 5-range Elthunders and Thorons.
Overall, Pandreo is an extremely potent unit who only requires a reclass to unlock his full potential as one of the best magic users and one of the best units in the game overall. His raw offensive capabilities as a high-level magic user are almost unmatched, and he can be easily justified being given a permanent slot in almost any army from the moment he is recruited.
