Plegia Castle

Plegia Castle is a location in Fire Emblem Awakening. Appearing throughout the game yet only visited by the player during Chapter 21, the castle is located in the capital city of Plegia, which does not have a specified name. Plegia Castle is home to the royal family of Plegia. As king of Plegia during the events of Awakening, Gangrel lives here. Beyond being the center of political power in Plegia, it is also brimming with Grimleal leaders and followers, such as Aversa, Validar, and Algol.

The skull of Grima can be seen in the castle's courtyard, which lies to the northeast of the mountaintop fortress.

Story[]

Prior to Chapter 21 of Awakening, Chrom receives an invitation from Validar to visit Plegia Castle. Having caught wind of Chrom's search for the five gemstones, Validar writes that his intention is to give him Sable so that he may complete the Binding Shield. Though Frederick is suspicious of the letter, Chrom declares that Emmeryn never refused a diplomatic gesture and neither shall he. The Shepherds immediately begin preparations for the journey.

Upon arrival in Plegia's capital, Lucina feels a sense of deep foreboding at the sight of Grima's skull. When the Shepherds enter the castle, Robin notices that there are armed soldiers hiding in the shadows. Sure enough, Validar attempts to steal the Binding Shield. When Robin tries to lead Chrom to safety, Algol, a Grimleal priest, leads the palace guards and the hidden soldiers in an ambush against them.

Though the Shepherds manage to defeat Algol and his men, Validar warps in right before they reach the exit to once again demand the Fire Emblem. When he is once again refused, he takes control of Robin's will and forces them to give him the Binding Shield. Inserting Sable into the shield, Validar completes the Fire Emblem and warps away. Devastated, Robin nearly loses the will to carry on, but is encouraged by Frederick and Chrom.

Escaping with their lives, but without the Fire Emblem, the Shepherds leave Plegia Castle behind, for now.

"End of spoilers. It's a pleasure doing business with you!"

Trivia[]

  • Plegia Castle is located directly where Dolhr Castle used to be in the original Archanea Series titles.
