Ragnell is by far the most powerfull atainable weapon in all the Fire Emblem series. When Ike weilds it in Path of Radience, he is nearly invincible. It deals massive dameage, nearly always hits, and can attack from a distance, allowing Ike to simultaneously deffend from both direct and indirect attacks. This helps to counter his low resistance and the fact that he can only use swords.

Ragnell is the name of Ike's ultimate weapon in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

The weapon itself is a large golden sword with great power and accuracy. Ragnell was blessed by the goddess Ashera, making the blade unbreakable. In the storyline, Ike uses Ragnell to penetrate the blessed armor of the Black Knight during their duel. Early on in the game, Ragnell was offered to Ike's Father, Greil, by the Black Knight just before their duel. Greil however, refused the blade and fought with his axe, only to be mortally wounded in the aftermath. In both games set in Tellius, the Ragnell is given to Ike as part of the main storyline.

Ragnell, along with its siter sword, Alondite, was forged to smite the Goddess Yune by the first Apostle of Bengion. Being a Bengion national treasure, Ike returned the sword to Apostle Sanaki after using it to reclaiming his county of Crimia from the Mad King Ashnard. In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Sanaki stole the sacred blade as she escaped from the hostile senators and gave the blade back to Ike, so to lead the amry faithful to the Apostle and retake Bengion.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Ragnell is also featured as Ike's weapon in the Wii game: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. With it he could perform his signature Aether attack. It also had magical fire properties, much like Roy's Sword of Seals, even though such powers were never seen in either Fire Emblem game.
