Leiden was a Sable Knight who assisted Camus in delivering Nyna to Hardin before the War of Darkness.
It seems he was spared by Doluna despite his betrayal and somehow managed to avoid dying to the Akaneian League, as he joins in Fire Emblem: Shin Monshō no Nazo ~Hikari to Kage no Eiyū~, along with Belf and Robert before the original game's Chapter 13.

Overall
Due to his impressive bases and above-average growths, Leiden is recommended for use as a Cavalier, even over his partner, Belf. Compared to Belf, Leiden is worse defensively, with inferior HP and Defense as well as a lower base Luck. However, he is superior in most other areas, and like Belf should have no problem maxing out his Skill.
