Renewal is a Skill that debuted in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, under the name Life.
Overview[]
Renewal is a passive skill, meaning that it will always take effect without the user having to activate it in any way. Renewal takes effect at the beginning of the turn of the character who has it equipped.
The Renewal skill allows the user to recover a portion of their HP of the start of the player's turn. The specific amount that Renewal restores varies between games. From its introduction in Genealogy of the Holy War through Radiant Dawn, the skill can restore up to 10% of a unit's maximum HP. This effect was boosted to a maximum of 30% in Awakening, and lowered to 20% in Three Houses. In Heroes and Engage, the skill recovers a flat HP value per turn instead of a calculated percentage.
In Heroes, Renewal recovers 10 HP at the beginning of every even-numbered turn. It can be learned without inheriting by a number of characters including Fae, Boey, Jakob, L'Arachel, Lissa, Libra, Olwen (World of Thracia), Tana (Summer's Arrival), Roy (Legendary Heroes) and Linhardt, amongst others.
In Fire Emblem Engage, Renewal is a Bond Ring skill acquired by equipping Deirdre's S Rank Bond Ring. In this game, Renewal restores only a flat 5 HP per turn.
