After escaping Destinea Cathedral, Alear and their forces enter the Shadowy Moor with Veyle and the Four Hounds in hot pursuit. To make matters worse, each of them are utilizing the corrupted Emblem Rings against them. As Alear nears the escape point, Ivy approaches Alear, announcing that she has defected from Sombron's forces due to the death of her father. As sign of her honesty, Ivy gives Alear the Ring of the Lady of the Plains and the Ring of the Princess Exalt. With the two new Emblem Ring in hand, Alear immediately purifies them, keeping the latter on hand for themselves and giving the former back to Ivy. With these new Rings, Alear and their forces are able to keep the Veyle and the Four Hounds at bay long enough for them to escape to Solm.

The player will lose all Emblem Rings the had prior to the start of this chapter. However, if the player has any DLC bracelets, they will be retained. Additionally, all Bond Rings obtained up to this point will also be retained, however the player cannot forge any Bond Rings of any of the stolen Emblem Rings. The Draconic Time Crystal will also be unavailable for a majority of the chapter. The enemy will have the Emblems equipped to them and they carry their various skills and Engage attacks, which will be used against the player whenever possible. If an enemy equipped with an Emblem Ring is defeated, it will be moved onto another unit that currently does not have a Ring equipped.
Once Alear has reached roughly two thirds of the way to the escape point, a short cutscene will occur in which Ivy, Zelkov, and Kagetsu automatically join the group. Upon joining, Ivy will be equipped with the Ring of the Lady of the Plains. Alear will also automatically equip the Ring of the Princess Exalt. If Alear was equipped with any of the DLC bracelets, they are swapped out for the Ring. Alear will also gain access to the Draconic Time Crystal at this point. However, the player can only rewind turns up to the point Alear recovered the crystal.
When the Four Hounds also appear at this point, they will chase the player's units. They are much too strong to be combated and should be ignored in lieu of the chapter's main objective of escaping. Four of the Emblem Rings will transfer to them. Veyle should not be fought for any reason, as she will take zero damage from all attacks (even Chain Attacks, which normally deal a flat amount of damage).
