The Ring of the Hero-King (英雄王の指輪, Eiyu Ou no Yubiwa lit. Ring of the Hero-King) is an Emblem Ring introduced in Fire Emblem Engage. The ring house the spirit of Emblem Marth. The ring has been in Alear's possession since the war with the Fell Dragon Sombron 1,000 years ago, and Marth has watched over Alear as they slept.
Profile[]
The Ring of the Hero-King enables to wearer to wield Marth's power in combat. When the twelve Emblem Rings were divided amongst the nations of Elyos, the Ring of the Hero-King was one of the six that was retained by Lythos. While her child slept, Lumera placed the ring on Alears hand, allowing them to bond with the Ring as Marth patiently watched them over the millennium. After a thousand years, Alear suddenly awakens and is brought to Lythos Castle shortly afterwards. To help Alear fully acclimate, Lumera has a sparring session with them and encourages Alear to see if they can awaken the power of the Ring of the Hero-King. Alear suddenly hears an incantation in their mind and recites it, causing the Ring to awaken. Alear would take the Ring of the Hero-King on their journey.
The design of the ring takes influence from Marth's tiara design.
Its specialty is executing constant and evasive attacks that significantly increase the damage to the rival, in addition, the selection of swords that it grants can do effective damage to cavalry, armored and dragon rivals.

The Ring of the Hero-King is the first Emblem Ring the player will have access to and it is available for a decent chunk of the game. Naturally, it works well with Alear but also on a vast majority of characters with high Dexterity and/or Speed. The skills from this ring generally revolve around increasing the user's Evasion through skills like Avoid + and Perceptive while putting a heavy emphasis on improving Sword proficiency. Other noteworthy skills include Break Defenses which allows the wielder to gain a Follow-Up Attack after Breaking a foe and Unyielding which helps recover HP if the user falls under a certain percentage.
Engaging with the Ring gives access to Divine Speed giving the user an additional attack dealing 50% of the damage they would have dealt and Lodestar Rush for a powerful 7 strike attack at 30% damage per attack. Rapier helps deal with early game Armored Units and a slew of Cavalry Units. Mercurius doubles EXP gained. Once Paralogue 14 is completed, Falchion can be accessed, dealing effective damage to Dragon Units.
