He has great stats across the board, and is generally better than his older brother, [[Gordin]]. An annoying problem is that low maximum stat for strength, as he reaches it rather quickly. He's better than [[Gordin]] in every stat but luck, which is a trivial difference since Raian's luck is still pretty decent. However, Raian struggles from a low base speed, and his growths, while still good, are not quite enough to make up for it. As a result, Raian is often doubled on harder difficulties, especially in the first few chapters, but reclassing to Myrmidon easily fixes this.

Gordin, brother...”
—Raian's death quote in in Mystery of the Emblem

Raian (ライアン, Raian, Ryan in the fan translations) is an archer of Altea and the younger brother of Gordin. He joined the Altean army after hearing of his brother's exploits in the previous war.

According to the Takayashiki Hideo's Mystery of the Emblem novel adaptation, Raian is 17 years old. [1]
