“Lord Runan, at least let me accompany you as far as Balt! I must find my father. I’ve already made up my mind. I’m going with you whether you like it or not!”
—Sasha, after Runan liberates Wellt

Sasha (サーシャ Sāsha) is a playable character from TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga. She is the princess of Wellt and the daughter of King Loffaru and Queen Liza, as well as the cousin of VernaMahterFrauMeriahRishel, and Renee. Due to her position as a member of the royal family, she is being pursued by her chancellor, Duke Codha, who schemes to seize control of Wellt.

Profile

Sasha is introduced alongside Kate when they are fleeing from Codha's soldiers at the beginning of the game. At this time, she tells Kate that she cannot run because she has a broken ankle. When Kate offers to sacrifice herself to buy time for her, Sasha refuses and orders her to remain at her side. After Runan aids them, she makes an alliance with him in order to liberate Wellt from Codha's grasp. Once Eugen recognizes her, it is revealed that she and Runan knew each other as children and his father once intended for them to be betrothed. At the end of Map 2, Sasha tells Kate that she always wants her to stay by her side.

After Mahter joins Runan's army, Sasha reveals that she wants to become a pegasus knight like her. If Sasha speaks to Mel in Map 6, she will receive the ☆Pegasus Flute as a gift from Liza. Once Wellt is liberated and Codha is arrested to await Loffaru's judgement, Sasha reunites with her mother, whom she convinces to allow her to stay in Runan's army. During the banquet at the end of the chapter, she notices that Ruka is sweating and offers to wipe off his brow, but he immediately becomes embarrassed and refuses. Unaware of his crush on her, she asks him if she has done anything to upset him and states that she is somewhat dense about such matters. She also mentions that her mother often scolds her for speaking carelessly in the royal court. When he runs away, she thinks that she has upset him again.

If she is sent with Runan after the first route split, Sasha will attempt to drink wine at the banquet after Map 10 until Kate stops her. She will also reunite with Loffaru during Map 18. If she is sent with Holmes instead, Sasha will notice the jade pendant around his neck and comment on its beauty. She also reveals that she has seen it before, although she cannot remember where. She tells Holmes that she has always wanted to have an older brother like him, to which he responds by saying that he would not want to have younger sister like her. While she is on this team, she can visit Wellt Castle to meet Liza, who mentions that she once lost a treasure from a very important person, who is later revealed to be Captain General Vals of Granada. In the events triggered by this, it is revealed that Sasha and Holmes are half-siblings due to him being Liza's son with Vals.

During the third intermission, Sasha notices that Kate has been in low spirits since Zeek has disappeared. She tells Kate that she believes that Runan will bring Zeek back to them. After Kate reunites with Zeek and falls into the captivity of Nefka, Sasha wonders about where she has gone and Runan/Holmes falsely claims that he has sent Kate to do some tasks. When Runan and Holmes invade the Temple of Gerxel, she finds Kate and recruits her back into the army. In this scene, Sasha states that she cannot forgive Zeek for betraying them and reveals that she feels useless without Kate.

In the ending, Sasha returns to Wellt Castle and lives with Loffaru and Liza.

Overall

Sasha is a poor unit at the beginning, having barely any strength or skill, which in turn makes it difficult for her to defeat enemies. Her growths are typical of a Pegasus Knight; high ability, skill, and luck, with poor strength and defense. A major advantage that only she has is that she can promote twice, once to Pegasus Knight and again to Dragon Knight. This gives her many promotion bonuses and will likely result in her having higher stats than Mahter at higher levels. Compared to the other four possible Dragon Knights, she competes with them well and using her is recommended.

Another advantage that Sasha possesses is that she learns the Elite skill once she reaches level 10, which makes training her much easier. She also receives support bonuses from the largest number of characters out of anyone in the game, and since many of these characters are also good units, this is a major advantage that helps with training her in the earlier stages of the game. Combined with flight, this gives her a lot of utility value.

Trivia

  • Sasha is the one of the two characters in the game whose dismounted map sprite and battle model doesn't change after promoting, the other being Raffin.
