Severing the Past is the tenth chapter of the Scarlet Blaze route of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, and the thirteenth overall.

Which version of Chapter 14 you experience depends on whether or not you recruited Byleth and Jeralt at the end of Shifting History. If you recruited them, then the next chapter will be Torment of the Eagle and Lion. If not, then the next chapter will be A Clash of Ambitions.

Story[]

Using the unrest in Hrym as cover, Ludwig, the former Duke Aegir, captures Fort Merceus with the aid of Those Who Slither in the Dark in preparation for a march on Enbarr and to take revenge against Edelgard for deposing him.

Ferdinand, feeling guilty about wanting to give his father a fair trial for his crimes, petitions Edelgard to allow him to join the front lines at Fort Merceus so he can deal with the former duke himself.
