—Shannam "teaching" Mareeta the Shooting Star Sword skill
Shannam (シャナム Shanamu, Shanam in the Japanese version) is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a sword-wielding mercenary from Silesse. He parades around impersonating Shannan. He accidentally "teaches" Mareeta the Shooting Star Sword skill, despite his "advice" being generic and made up on the spot, and he was surprised when she learned the skill. He is friends with Homer and can be recruited by him, although Homer notes he sounds nothing like Shannan.

Overall
Shannam has rather low base stats and his growths are not very good, either, except for his Strength, Speed, and Luck. His Pursuit Critical Coefficient of 0 will guarantee that he never lands a critical strike when he double attacks any enemy he faces. However, he does come with the Bargain skill, which allows him to buy any item at half price. His most useful attribute is to get a discount on items.
Possible Endings
Shannam - The Phony Prince (ホラふき剣 Hora fuki kenshi)
Instead of working for the New Kingdom of Thracia, Shannam returned to his hometown in Isaach. He then quit being a mercenary and lived a normal life.

Etymology
Although it may be coincidental, the name Shannam sounds somewhat like the word 'sham', a word often used to denote a fraudulent action or used to described someone who is a bad impersonator, fitting his actions and character.
Trivia
- A Shannan imposter also appears in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War during Chapter 9. If Hermina or Jeanne enters the village, he attempts to flirt with her, but she sees through his impersonation, causing him to give her his Dracoshield, which he was trying to pass off as the Balmung. It is unknown whether or not Shannam was intended to be this person.
- Quite uncharacteristically for his class, Shannam has the worst Skill growth rate in the entire game, falling even below that of Marty.
