*Sieglinde and Siegmund are the only Sacred Twins that have similar names, with only the last 4-5 letters difference. This is most likely because Eirika and Ephraim are twins.

* Siegmund is the German derivative of the name "Sigmund," coming from ''sigu'', victory, and ''mund'', protector.

* It was named after Siegmund from Norse Mythology. He got laid by Sieglinde, and pooped out Sinfjötli.

* Its title, the "fire lance" is similar to the name of Petrine of Fire Emblem Path of Radiance's weapon, the "flame lance"
