—In-game description, The Sacred Stones
The Spear is a Lance that recurrently appears across the Fire Emblem series. Like the Javelin, this lance permits its wielder to engage in both melee and ranged combat. The Spear also possesses a slight chance of inflicting a Critical hit, save for its New Mystery of the Emblem, Awakening, and Fates incarnations.

Trivia[]
- In The Blazing Blade, Vaida carries a unique Spear enhanced by Nergal's magic. This incarnation of the Spear grants bonuses of +17 HP, +5 Strength, +4 Skill, +9 Speed, +4 Defense, and +14 Resistance to its wielder, and can be obtained with the Mine Glitch by trading it for the obtainable Luna of a nearby Shaman. This is possible because the items themselves do not affect obtainability, but the inventory slot does.
- Since Vaida is a flying unit, she will attack one of your units first before triggering the mine. This makes it dangerous to engage Vaida without proper weapons or stats. Anyone with weapons strong against lances and with at least 18 speed to avoid being doubled.
- It is easily possible to trigger the Mine Glitch on turn 1 using one of the mountain bandits to step on the mine. The Mine Glitch allows you to take control of the entire enemy army for 1 turn, including Vaida who can safely trade away her "Uberspear" to the nearby shaman. This Spear can also be obtained by transferring it directly to Merlinus.
