The Spirit Katana is a Katana that debuted in Fire Emblem Fates.
Overview
A part of the "Blessed" series of weapons (Blessed Lance, Kris Knife, Blessed Bow), the Spirit Katana is capable of inflicting effective damage against monster units, also capable of replenishing its wielder's HP at the start of each turn. The Spirit Katana, like most other Katana, raises Speed by 1. The Spirit Katana's merits are, however, offset by it lowering its wielder's Defense and Resistance much more than what most other katana do.
The weapon reappears in Fire Emblem Warriors as the common monster-killer weapon.

Etymology
The katana (刀), was the go-to weapon for all samurai of Feudal Japan. Katanas are characterized by their curved, single edged blade.
The Spirit Katana's Japanese name, Reitō, is the on-yomi variant of reading the kanji (霊刀), Tama Katana. This pronunciation was borrowed from the Chinese daō (刀), which is written in the same way.
