Stone is a Dark magic spell that debuted in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776.

History in the Series

In Thracia 776, this spell is wielded exclusively by Veld, while in The Sacred Stones, it is used by Gorgons. Upon successful casting of the spell, the user in question will be able to turn their target into stone, rendering said target to be unable to move or attack until they recover or are healed with a Restore Staff.

In Thracia 776, the spell's effect is permanent and can only be removed with the aid of the Kia Staff. It also turns into the Fenrir tome when stolen. If this is done to Veld, the player might gain an advantage in the fight against him.

In The Sacred Stones, this spell lacks a viable weapon rank, and can hence be used by any character if obtained through the employment of cheat codes or the Enemy Control Glitch. Any magic users who are previously unable to utilize Dark Magic will be able to increase their proficiency in this weapon type with the Stone spell, as it is the only form of monster magic that awards Weapon Experience. In order to get a D rank in Dark Magic to use the basic Flux spell, the magic-user in question will need to cast the Stone spell a total of eight times (5x8=40). Since it only has 5 uses, the player will either need to acquire another Stone, or use the Hammerne Staff to repair (Although you will have to use it to the brink of breaking before repairing it, since any other time will result in the spell breaking).

In Fire Emblem Heroes Stone is a Colorless Tome. Instead of petrifying the target, it manipulates the power of the earth to throw stones at them.

Trivia

  • In Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, although it is possible to give Dark Magic to any character using this weapon, it is only recommended to give characters this type of magic to those who are already using Magic. Giving the physical weapons (Swords, Lances, Axes, and Bows) users the ability to use magic will end up having their battle animations changed, making them act as if they're actually trying to use magical attacks. This will result in complications involving using physical weapons.
