Eponymously named after Takumi, Takumi's Shinai pays homage to his little-known skill with the blade. This fact is further reinforced through it being imbued with a property that functions similarly to the Mercy skill from Radiant Dawn, where it is unable to deliver finishing blows to foes possessing more than 1 HP.

Takumi's Shinai (タクミの竹刀 Takumi no shinai, lit. Takumi's Bamboo Sword) is a Katana that is introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. Eponymously named after Takumi, Takumi's Shinai pays homage to his little-known skill with the blade. Like its Japanese name suggests, Takumi's Shinai is fashioned entirely out of bamboo and is better suited for practice purposes, a fact that is translated through its low Might. This fact is further reinforced through it being imbued with a property that functions similarly to the Mercy skill from Radiant Dawn, where it is unable to deliver finishing blows to foes possessing more than 1 HP.

Takumi's Shinai shares its inability to kill enemies having more than 1 HP with Niles' Bow.
