Binding BladeEdit

If Smash Bros. Brawl is the only nintendo-released english translation of the game's name, should it be mentioned in this article (or should this article redirect to Binding Blade)? Sylvanelite 11:40, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

Brawl has quite a few mistakes and typos, we generally don't take it as a serious translation source.--Otherarrow 12:34, July 20, 2010 (UTC)
Brawl seemed pretty good to me, I would have imagined it would be more reliable than a fan-transation. I didn't notice any mistakes or tyops in brawl. But perhaps that's because I'm playing the PAL version. Sylvanelite 00:00, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
Besides, the sword was called the Sword of Seals in Super Smash Bros. Melee if I recall correctly. Make of that what you will.--Otherarrow 00:47, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
So it shouldn't be mentioned at all then? Sylvanelite 01:01, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Is there any reason why the page isn't called "Binding Blade"? Edit

If we're using the official title of the game, why is there any reason to call this page "Sword of Seals" instead of "Binding Blade"? It's confusing. Oil_Rope_Bombs Converse 17:09, February 19, 2015 (UTC)

Sword of SealsEdit

Just an update on this, Sword of Seals is actually the correct name for the weapon. In Smash4, his trophy states (emphasis mine):

Roy, the main character of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, returns for the first time since Melee! In The Binding Blade, Roy led the troops of Pherae into battle in his ailing father’s stead, and now he brings his speed and talent for short-range combat into this game. His sword, the Sword of Seals, is uniquely powerful at the base of the blade.

You can see they translate his game to Binding Blade but translate his weapon to Sword of Seals. This is odd considering they have the same Japanese, but is consistent with other translations from Nintendo. His Melee trophy states the weapon is the "Sword of Seals" but does not translate the game name. Brawl stickers/song and Awakening DLC state "Binding Blade" as being the game name, but do not translate the name of the weapon. Smash 4 translates both, and is consistent with the others.
