I'm curious, if anyone's willing to answer, what units other than the ones described are effective against generals?
if i can't use a magic unit and i don't have a special weapon, i tend to use a Berserker/Warrior.Also i avoid using archers/snipers or myrmidons (swordmasters seem to do ok).--Semajdraehs 17:29, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I use anything with: 1.High damage to a general. 2.Weapons with high critical and at least moderate damage. 3."Great" weapons. By this term I mean poleaxes, greatlances, and blades. I can usually plow through most generals and armors without much trouble, even if I have to use myrmidrons. But I must admit myrmidrons are terribly ineffective. --Collini182
Anyone mind if I add the weapons of the Baron class in Gaiden in the Weapon usage section? Or at least make mention that Barons play the same role in the game, and exclusively use Lances? Emperor Hardin (talk) 00:13, August 10, 2015 (UTC)
- I'd probably note the similarities at least. Though Baron is a third tier class, it just happens that Knight is second tier in that game.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:35, August 10, 2015 (UTC)
- True, but the game effectively treats the Baron class as the general class. I'll make a mention of it for now, if you're ok with me doing so, I'll add the Baron's use of Lances to the chart. Also Funfact the Armor Knight/General map sprites in FE1 depict them with Swords, while the Gaiden sprites for Armors/Barons depict them with Lances. - No, the game treats the Baron class as "the promotion of Armor Knight". Which, yes, would be General...if Gaiden was made after Mystery. You see, in Dark Dragon, Armor Knight doesn't promote and General is thus just a different, stronger armored class (see also Hunter and Horseman). But yeah, at the very least, they used the General map icon (but not sprite) as a basis for the Baron map icon.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:00, August 16, 2015 (UTC)
