Alear is technically deployed onto the map, however there are several restrictions regarding them. They start in a fixed location, they have no items equipped, and are techincally considered an Ally Unit as they gain no actions. A Mage Cannoneer begins the first couple of turns pelting them with attacks and eventually a Corrupted Wyvern joins and does the same. Fortunately, any Stave wielding unit has access to Physic and thus can help keep them healed constantly. Unfortunately, this may require one of your units to have to babysit them until your forces can eventually make their way through the map. Several chests contain useful staves to help mitigate the heavy staff usage of the map, but there are several things to help remedy the situation.
Aside from quickly trying to complete the map and keeping Alear alive, most of your units should try to progress the map as quickly as possible to keep this need down. Nel is also isolated from the army, but at least has her equipment, can still Engage if needed and has three elixirs to keep her topped up as Nil cannot kill her in a single round of combat. Ocassionally a High Priest character appears near Nel and Nil, so she should focus on eliminating them whenever they appear to prevent Nil from recovering health. Luckily, no enemy enters the chamber containing Nel and Nil and the Wyvern never targets Nel.
Several Emblems are incredibly useful for this map:
- Ring of the Dawn Maiden - The ring helps extend Physic/Fortify's range to both heal Alear and keep allies alive as much as possible. Great Sacrifice can be used in a pinch to do much the same especially if the wielder is far away from Alear since it will heal all allies on the field.
- Ring of the Caring Princess - With the slew of Corrupted on the field, including Hortensia and Fogado, Seraphim, if learned, deals heavy damage. Warp Ragnarok can also be used to bring the user close to the Corrupted Wyvern assailing Alear, though this also effectively removes them from the map.
- Ring of the Lady of the Plains - A well positioned Astra Storm can easily pick away Hortensia or even score a Revival Stone break on Nil, especially on a strong enough Covert Unit.
- Ring of the Azure Twins - Twin Strike can easily kill one of Nil's health bars and can kill a Corrupted situated on a Miasma tile. Sieglinde deals effective damage to the Corrupted.
- Ring of the Crux of Fate/Bracelet of the Doting Sister - The map is littered with Miasma which can make the Corrupted of the map much more frustrating to deal with so using their Dragon Vein abilities help alieviate this.
- Bracelet of the Strategist - Bolting and Cataclysm both give the wielder good long range and thus can both poke Nil and or possibly target the Wyvern.
- Bracelet of the Lonely Heir - At Bond 10, this can give the player three free uses of Fortify. This can become four turns if they have Bond 11 established.
Trivia[]
- This is the only chapter of the game where Alear is not controllable.
