Overview[edit | edit source]
In Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE obtaining the staff requires Kiria Kurono to be a Sorcerer to perform the Carnage Unity necessary to form the staff.
In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Thyrsus is one of the twelve Heroes' Relics, associated with the Crest of Gloucester. The staff provides +2 range to magic attacks, and grants the effects of Pavise and Aegis if the holder possesses the correct Crest.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
A Thyrsus, or thyrsos (Ancient Greek: θύρσος), was a wand or staff of giant fennel (Ferula communis) covered with ivy vines and leaves, sometimes wound with taeniae and topped with a pine cone or by a bunch of vine-leaves and grapes or ivy-leaves and berries. The thyrsus, associated with Dionysus (or Bacchus) and his followers, the Satyrs and Maenads (or Bacchants), is a symbol of prosperity, fertility, hedonism, and pleasure/enjoyment in general.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Excluding the Sword of the Creator and Blutgang, Thyrsus is the only Hero's Relic that is never wielded by an unrecruited student after the time-skip. This is likely because its heir cannot use magic when they are encountered as an enemy, thus not having a use for it.
