Tirnanog (ティルナノグ, Tirunanogu; Tirnanogue in fan translations) is a location in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. A small town in northern Isaach, it appears in Chapter 6 as the place where Seliph and the other children were raised under the care of Edain after the Battle of Belhalla. It is also the starting location for Generation 2, where Danann sends his troops to kill Seliph and stamp out the growing resistance to the Grannvale Empire.

Etymology

The name is based on Tír na nÓg, Irish for "land of the young," the mystical otherworld of Irish mythology. It is a land of eternal youth inhabited by the Irish gods, the Tuatha Dé Danann.

Trivia

  • Shouzou Kaga would go on to use the name Tirnanog again after leaving Intelligent Systems, making it the name of his own development studio that went on to develop the TearRing Saga series.
