The Transporter is a support class that debuted in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade.
Transporter is a support class that effectively acts as the player army's Supply Convoy during battle. The Transporter is unable to engage in combat.
A class that is unique to the merchant Merlinus, the class has no means of self-defense, alongside an inability to traverse the battlefield. The Transporter, therefore, requires a unit to act as a guard to be stationed by its side at all times in order to prevent it from being destroyed by enemy attacks.
There are, however, merits to having the Transporter on the battlefield; in the event that characters whose inventories are fully acquired additional items, they will thus be able to send said items to the Transporter in favor of discarding them. Also, the Transporter's battlefield presence is necessary should the player desire access to their convoy in the midst of battle.
Joining battles is the only way for the Transporter class to gain experience, either through being engaged in combat or surviving whole chapters for one full level up.
Upon reaching Level 20, the Transporter class will promote into a Transporter with a wagon drawn by a horse. This form of the Transporter class is mobile and is better able to survive on the battlefield due to being able to move out of range of hostile attacks.
In Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, there is unused data for the class. Units cannot access the convoy when standing adjacent to the tent (Eirika or Ephraim will fulfill that role instead). This class cannot promote.
