The Transporter (輸送隊 Yusōtai) is a support class that is unique to Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken. A class that is unique to the merchant Merlinus, the Transporter is unable to engage in combat, and effectively acts as the player army's Supply Convoy during battle.
In-Game
Overview
With no means of self-defence, alongside its inability to traverse the battlefield, the Transporter therefore requires a guard to be stationed by its side at all times in order to prevent it from being destroyed by enemy attacks.
There are, however, merits to having the Transporter on the battlefield; in the event that characters whose inventories are full acquire additional items, they will thus be able to send said items to the Transporter in favour of discarding them. Also, the Transporter's battlefield presence is necessary should the player desire access to their convoy in the midst of battle.
Joining battles is the only way for the Transporter class to gain experience, either through being engaged in combat or surviving whole chapters for one full level up.
Promotion
Upon reaching Level 20, the Transporter class will promote into a Transporter with a wagon drawn by a horse. This form of the Transporter class is mobile and is better able to survive on the battlefield due to being able to move out of range of hostile attacks.
