The Transporter s a support class that is unique to the Elibe Series of Fire Emblem. A class that is unique to the merchant Merlinus, the Transporter is unable to engage in combat, and effectively acts as the player army's Supply Convoy during battle. This version of the Transporter class is the promoted form of the tent version.

History in the Series[]

In its original inception in The Binding Blade, the wagon version of the Transporter class takes over the Lord character's ability to access the Supply Convoy in the midst of battle. This version of the class gains experience rather laboriously, only gaining one point during each round of combat that it engages in when attacked.

In The Blazing Blade, the wagon version of the Transporter class is the promoted form of the tent version. Gaining the ability to be mobile during battles, this version of the class is far more useful than its un-promoted form. This version of the class gains experience in the exact same manner that the tent version does; participating in a single skirmish will allow it to gain one level-up automatically.

The Transporter class is retired following the end of the Elibe era, its role as the convenient Supply Convoy being ceded back to the Lord characters appearing in subsequent titles.

The class makes an appearance in TearRing Saga: Berwick Saga. However, they are unplayable, with the vast majority found as enemies. Enemy Transporters usually possess a rare or expensive item, making them good targets to capture.

In Vestaria Saga I, the Transporter is an enemy/NPC exclusive class. Enemy transporters often have to be destroyed in order to prevent something that would make the map harder. NPC transporters often need to be escorted. The class is playable in The Holy Sword of Silvanister. It functions similarly to it's Binding Blade incarnation.

Overview[]

Combat[]

With no means of self-defence, alongside its inability to traverse the battlefield, the Transporter therefore requires a guard to be stationed by its side at all times in order to prevent it from being destroyed by enemy attacks.

There are, however, merits to having the Transporter on the battlefield; in the event that characters whose inventories are full acquire additional items, they will thus be able to send said items to the Transporter in favour of discarding them. Also, the Transporter's battlefield presence is necessary should the player desire access to their convoy in the midst of battle.

Unlike its unpromoted form, this version of the Transporter class is mobile and is better able to survive on the battlefield due to being able to move out of range of hostile attacks.
