Trial Maps (トライアルマップ) are found in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and a variation of trial maps is found in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. After beating the main story of the game, the player can play in other scenarios found in the Extras section. The maps are made for level 20 characters, and are usually difficult.

- Island of Heavy Rain - Unlocked by beating the game
- Defense Line in the Snow - Unlocked by getting the Final Chapter ending, in Normal mode
- Pirates' Challenge - Unlocked by getting the Chapter 22 ending, in Hard mode
- Roy's Test - Unlocked by getting the Final Chapter ending, in Hard mode
- Graizel Execution Court - Available from a promotional event only
- V-shaped Map - Available from a promotional event only
- J-shaped Map - Available from a promotional event only
- Defeat Bandits - Available from a promotional event only
The Sacred Stones

The Sacred Stones has a Creature Campaign instead of regular Trial Maps. They are:

- Berserkers, Falcon Knights, Dragon, Cat, and Hawk Laguz are never encountered as enemies in the Trial maps, despite being encountered as enemies in the main story.
- With the exception of the Escape map, the enemies always use the red palette of Begnion even when the map description implies Daein origin.

In The Binding Blade you can unlock characters by beating the game (from beginning to end).
- Narcian - Beat the game 1 time
- Galle - Beat the game 2 times
- Hector - Beat the game 3 times
- Brunnya - Beat the game 4 times
- Eliwood - Beat the game 5 times
- Murdock - Beat the game 6 times
- Zephiel - Beat the game 7 times
- Guinivere - Beat the game 9 times
The Sacred Stones

In The Sacred Stones you can unlock these characters by beating the Tower of Valni or Laqdou Ruins a certain number of times/to a certain level. To unlock extra characters, you must first complete the game and then play in the Creature Campaign mode. After fulfilling the requirements to unlock a character, they will be attributed to you once you enter the next battle. These extra characters cannot participate in the Link Arena, but you can give the items these characters join with to characters that are usable in the Link Arena. For example, you can give Lyon's Naglfar Tome to Knoll for use. Another example is that you can give Ismaire's Wind Sword to Joshua.
- Caellach - Tower of Valni: Clear the 3rd floor
- Orson - Tower of Valni: Clear the 6th floor
- Riev - Tower of Valni: Defeat 200 or more enemies in the same Tower run
- Ismaire - Tower of Valni: Clear the 8th floor
- Selena - Tower of Valni: Clear the 8th floor, 3 times
- Glen - Lagdou Ruins: Clear the 5th floor
- Hayden - Lagdou Ruins: Defeat 200 or more enemies in the same Ruins run
- Valter - Lagdou Ruins: Clear the 7th floor
- Fado - Lagdou Ruins: Clear the 10th floor
- Lyon - Lagdou Ruins: Clear the 10th floor, 3 times
