A Turn Limit is a requirement tied to the Defeat Condition of some battles.
Overview[]
A turn limit is a cap on the number of turns a battle is allowed to last. If the turn limit is exceeded, the battle ends in immediate defeat for the player. Battles with stated turn limits in the Fire Emblem series are rare. Examples include the chapters The Goddess's Rite of Rebirth and Rumors of a Reaper in Fire Emblem: Three Houses which each feature a limit of 25 turns.
In battles without stated turn limits as a Defeat Condition, Three Houses also limits battles to a maximum cap of 99 turns. Beginning with Turn 90, a count of the number of turns left appears at the start of the Player Phase. If the player exceeds the 99 turn limit, the battle will end in defeat.
