—Mission description
Unsettling Truths is a paralogue chapter for Lorenz, Raphael, and Ignatz in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. It is available starting from Chapter 9 of the Scarlet Blaze and Golden Wildfire story routes, or Chapter 10 of the Azure Gleam story route.
Story[]
When news of a group of familiar-looking bandits terrorizes Gloucester territory, Lorenz returns to his homeland to deal with the problem, enlisting Ignatz, Raphael, and Shez for assistance. Lorenz believes the bandits were once mercenaries employed by his father, Erwin, the former Count Gloucester. When he pressed his father for details on their past, Erwin continually evaded the subject. As the new count, Lorenz believes it falls upon him to protect his subjects and settle his family's unfinished business.

Lorenz's group discovers the bandits' hideout, which is not far from the location where Raphael's parents and Godfrey, Claude's unclde, were killed by monsters. The party cuts off the bandits' escape and confronts the leader, who decides to take his vengeance out on him in his father's place after claiming that Erwin disposed of them after they were no longer useful to him.
After the thieves are defeated, Lorenz interrogates their leader to get the whole truth about the incident. The former mercenaries were hired by Erwin to protect Gloucester territory, until one day they received an order from someone claiming to act on his behalf to threaten the merchants and scare them away instead. Disgusted by the sudden order to raise their swords against unarmed civilians, they instead set a pack of wild monsters against them. Godfrey, who was protecting the merchants at the time, lost his life fighting the monsters, as did the rest of the merchant crew. When Erwin found out what happened, he punished the mercenaries, an act they saw as a betrayal. Lorenz apologizes to Raphael on his father's behalf, but Raphael tells him to stop worrying about it and claims that he's not responsible for what his father may have done.
