Aivass Remurias is a user that has been editing the Fire Emblem Wiki since 17:22 May 14 2009.
This User still edits with Wikia's "MonoBook" view, the former default, and thinks you should, too. Try it out by clicking here -->, or by selecting it in your "my preferences" menu.
Still trying to figure out how people are even using this wikia with a blue background, much less edit with it *overt grumble*. I did a thing a while ago where most of the wikia and edit space is back to white for me personally, with a few exceptions like the main nav sidebar and infoboxes in articles. Here is a link so that people can exercise this option if they so choose, as I have: Forum:Changes to entire site's skin
I vaguely remember first starting on this Wikia armed with only a mission to help the stat templates of boss characters include their affinities. Now look what I've gotten myself into!
I'm a coding reductionist (where permitting), and a content realist. I'm very wary about the removal of actual content, though, because when it comes to this wikia, we truly stand on the shoulders of giants.
I like to create pages when they are needed. I strive for format symmetry and parallel structure. Or, as it's commonly called now, consistency. Although the more I edit, the more I realize that exceptions for certain things have to be accounted for in pursuit of this overall goal.
I am always open to learning whatever I can regarding editing. It never really ends, though, does it? I do what I can.
When I go, I go all out. Well, I try. Real life permitting. =P This was before we had bots and had to do everything manually...
I want to thank all the great contributors and editors out there, both past and present, for helping out with this wikia!
I love Fire Emblem's GBA graphics!
I'd have to say that Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, Fire Emblem: Binding Blade, and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones are my favorites, although I really like them all. I'm really hoping that one day all three will be re-released as one compilation game, maybe for an anniversary of the Fire Emblem franchise. They did a similar thing with the Mega Man games, and if the popularity of Fire Emblem in the US and Europe grows, it might actually happen (so that means go out and buy every Fire Emblem game you can get your hands on!). Nintendo needs sales!
Editorial: While it's painfully clear that keeping FE6 unlocalized was an enormous tragedy back in the day, the decision to keep FE12 unlocalized as well was just adding insult to injury. Sadly, the window of opportunity for both cases are all but closed. Fire Emblem is historically disappointing in terms of sequels for English-speakers (it has only happened once thus far). All that being said, I still think I hold reasonable expectations of what Nintendo and Intelligent Systems decide to do with the franchise.
Fire Emblem: Awakening: An extremely big deal since March 2012. Aptly named.
- Correct instances of legacy naming (linked and unlinked) on pages 98% complete
- Continue to create Wanted Pages
Reduced to around 33, down from around 200+ when I startedUPDATE: The Wanted Pages have exploded post-Fates. Lot's of work to do.
- Add ItemStat & WeaponStat Templates to Item & Weapon Pages 40% complete
- Revert and/or report vandalism where appropriate In progress
- Clean up Fire Emblem Chapter Pages: FE6~8 60% complete
- Monitor and fix pages that link to disambiguation pages
Reduced to 9 unavoidable (and entirely acceptable) disambigs, down from around 1,500+ when I startedExtremely out of control again, so lots of work to do.
- Work on Task Board requests In progress
- Reorganize categories In progress
- More goals to be added later
EDIT: Apologies, this information is very outdated! Trying to make an effort this year (2017) to edit more than in 2016, although I do not have nearly the amount of time or opportunity to edit as I have in the past. My backlog is over 20,000 edits to review, to put it in perspective, mostly due to Fates/Heroes/Echoes and a surge of new users editing (at least it seems like it). I see a lot more stuff than I get around to acting on, but eventually I will start to pick away at my email backlog. EDIT: (8-2-2020) Wikia's elimination of MonoBook and replacing it with this overly visual style makes it so I can't even navigate the site as easily as I once did, and find menus I used to use a lot. As such, I don't anticipate much in the way of contributing for the foreseeable future. I'll keep an eye on changes via email, though.
My Sandbox (an edit space used for my experiments, ideas, and test edits) is located here.
