For messages left here on this talk page, I will respond on this talk page. If I left a thread on your talk page, respond there, not here. It gets confusing and tiresome having to jump from talk page to talk page to read a conversation or add a comment. Thanks everyone!--Aivass Remurias (talk) 06:52, November 25, 2012 (UTC)

Good News[edit source]

In order to help you with your boss affinity quest, and by request, I have created the CharstatGBA! (The "start" is here and you just have to add a -GBA to the "Charstat/end" that is already there.) If there are any problems, feel free to let me know.--Otherarrow 08:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm honored! Much appreciated.--Aivass Remurias 01:45, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

As a note my name is Semajdraehs (my first name reversed and then my last name reversed, my real name being James Sheard). Not Samadrej. Either way i'm sure both I and Otherarrow will be willing to answer any of your questions if you need help with wiki suff.--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 16:35, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm truly sorry about that. I admit I was careless in misspelling your User name. Thanks for the heads up and for offering help. See you around!--Aivass Remurias 01:45, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Red Links On The Tellius Page[edit source]

Okay, I understand why you left those red links on the Tellius page. It makes sense. I'm just not used to how other Wikis are almost totally different. On another Wiki I'm on, they greatly dislike red links and always try to remove them. And on another Wiki, they expect you to report vandals most of the time. I can't exactly remember all that you said on my talk page, but if you want, you can leave those red links on the Tellius page.--Black Dragon Laguz 11:41, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

No, no, it's alright. It's no problem. I just wanted to give a reason why. I mean, if we eliminated all red links from the wiki, we wouldn't know what the wanted pages would be. I'll leave them unlinked for now because there were a lot of them on one page. What I'll do is put the red links for the pages I want to create for Tellius on my User Page to remind me to come back to them later.--Aivass Remurias 16:01, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

Only Admins Can Delete Duplicate Photos[edit source]

i'm on that task now (Y).--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 22:28, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

appears otherarrow already got round to it...only admins can delete files so leaving a note on mine or otherarrows talk page or adding the Delete tag should do the trick.--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 22:34, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Stub Pages[edit source]

please add Stub to the bottom of the page, instead of just putting it in the stub category, that way it leaves the little this is a stub... e.t.c message.--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 11:40, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, I see. I will strive to do as you ask. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.--Aivass Remurias 11:43, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Duplicate Images[edit source]

Some of the images you've just uploaded we already have, you make sure this doesn't happen by quickly checking the pages such an image might be on first.--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 16:47, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

My bad, thanks for fixing that. I will do make sure to check more thoroughly from now on.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

i'd try using the categories to have a quick browse through, or/and check the pages related to the image. Ideally you should only be uploading a picture when you already have at least one page to add it too, so this should really come as a natural step. I understand that its hard for new-ish comers to know when there making duplicates, but i've been on the wiki since we had only about 100ish pages so i usually recognise a duplicate, just give a little browse of the pages related and that should get rid of any obvious duplicates and me and otherarrow will take care of it if any others slip through the net.--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 22:02, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Good tip. Thanks.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Wow![edit source]

You are doing a great job by adding those articles!--Black Dragon Laguz 21:38, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! We just had way too many Wanted Pages!--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

How?[edit source]

How, did you do that by accident?--BowserclassUserwikidragon [Vote for maria in article of the month] 10:07, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

What? What are you referring to?--Aivass Remurias 04:37, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

I've Just Altered Needquote So It Applies To All Pages Instead[edit source]

Rather than create one for chapter, characters and misc pages. I don't know why I specialised it for characters in the first place if i'm honest...--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 11:29, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

That was a good idea there. Thanks for helping with that.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

"If They Want To Do So"[edit source]

If they felt like doing so they'd add it themselves, and ALOT more pages needed more than a blank external link addition, and those pages are still lacking, because people don't want to do so, and if you put that there it looks bad on the wiki, for it's own members aren't contributing for the sake of informations, but instead of when they feel like it, So that's why I deleted it because no one feels like it at the moment, and so that why It will stay gone until some one feels like it, and when the do they will put it there.--BowserclassUserwikidragon [Vote for maria in article of the month] 12:17, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

...So I think this is what you are basically saying...
  • 1. Members edit when they want to [do so]
Me: Okay, yes...and?
  • 2. It looks bad on the wiki
Me: Really? Adding partial content that will be useful in the future is bad for the wiki? As for looks, I'd say it looks fine. If you were to say the look disagrees with your personal ideal of what a page should look like, yeah, I'd certainly agree on that. lol
  • 3. I deleted it because no one feels like [editing] it at the moment
Me: Wow, if that's how this wiki works, and I am in no way saying it does, then how do we have all the info we have? Look, it's because everything up to this point wasn't added chunk-wise all at once. It was added piece by piece with everyone contributing what part they know. An attitude that closely embraces such an idea is acting in the best interest of the wiki, because that's how the idea for wikis came about.
...So do you think we both understand each other now? I don't think I missed anything.--Aivass Remurias 22:51, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Great Editing![edit source]

Thanks! Yes, they've changed the site layout and it took me a little while to adapt to it. But I'm finally used to it now.--Black Dragon Laguz 23:10, December 10, 2010 (UTC)

I prefer Monobook, myself.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu[edit source]

Have you ever played Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu? I haven't, but it sounds like a fun game. If you have ever played it before, I would like to know if you like it or not.--Black Dragon Laguz 01:59, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I have, but it was quite a long time ago. I did like it, but keep in mind it was from the Shouzou Kaga era, therefore much more involved and intricate than what most Western audiences seem to like. I recommend reading up about it before you go through the trouble of getting a chance to play it.--Aivass Remurias 15:43, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. But now, I've been thinking about maybe playing a different Fire Emblem someday: Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi.--Black Dragon Laguz 06:11, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

Now an extremely awesome game. Hard as cement, though. I'll put it this way: you'll have a greater appreciation for the Skill stat after beating it. *Shivers
There are ROMs of that game floating around on the net, however it was never released in English so you'll need to patch a fan translation to the ROM. As for how and where to do all this, I plead the 5th.--Aivass Remurias 06:24, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

Okay. Well, what Fire Emblem game that has not been released outside of Japan is the easiest in your opinion?--Black Dragon Laguz 02:59, January 15, 2011 (UTC) Also, I should probably mention that I'm thinking about maybe playing an FE game that isn't insanely difficult or insanely easy.--Black Dragon Laguz 03:02, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm...well given those constraints, and given my subjective opinion, I'd reckon you might want to try either Sacred Stones or Blazing Sword. Relative to each other, I'd say Sacred Stones is the "easier" of the two, while Blazing Sword is a bit "harder" but more rewarding I thought. That's just me. Note that I'm quite biased in this regard (I really like FE GBA graphics and the GUI designs they use). Also a great way to boost one's FE knowledge base, to boot.--Aivass Remurias 03:36, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Cool. I will have to get those as ROMs for my DSi, though, because I don't have a GBA.--Black Dragon Laguz 18:10, January 15, 2011 (UTC) So is Blazing Sword the Fire Emblem that was released in the US as "Fire Emblem"? Is it the one with Lyn, Hector, and Eliwood?--Black Dragon Laguz 19:03, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Mmhmm, yes. --Aivass Remurias 19:05, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Okay.--Black Dragon Laguz 21:05, January 15, 2011 (UTC) I got Blazing Sword as a ROM and a GBA emulator for my computer, but for some reason, I haven't been able to get past "New Game". I might look for a Sacred Stones ROM instead.--Black Dragon Laguz 17:59, January 22, 2011 (UTC) Actually, I've got it to work now and it is really good. Thanks for suggesting it! It's probably going to be my most favorite Fire Emblem.--Black Dragon Laguz 23:08, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Boss Pages[edit source]

I'm sorry to say this, as I appriciate the help, I really do, but when posting pages for boss characters, don't just paste stats and a clean up template and except someone else to know what to do. In their current stat, the pages are near worthless to use, since we have stats, but nothing to put the stats to. Who are these people, what game are they from, what chapter do they appear in, do they have portraits, are they major characters, are they one off characters, are they alternate forms of other characters, what? Next time, at least include a "X is from Tear Ring Saga" and a character template with it. Very bare bones, but better than nothing.--Otherarrow 19:58, January 13, 2011 (UTC)

...I see. What I would have done would have been, instead of just outright blanking the pages, moving that useful raw data to each page's talk page so I could refer to it later (and add the info in a proper way).
I'm kind of surprised at these turn of events, and just a bit hurt. I will take ownership of my actions and proceed in the way you ask, albeit less enthusiastically.
Words are one thing but actions are quite another. Not sure about how this was handled but I kind of faintly see your reasons for this course of action. I want to apologize if I upset you. Since you cannot hear my voice, please know I am sincere about doing things the right way. I humbly ask for your partnership and understanding in this.--Aivass Remurias 20:16, January 13, 2011 (UTC)

I apologize as well, my actions may have been a tad too rash and extreme. I ment no offense by this, and as I mention, I really appreciate the effort. (and I like enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is good. I am sorry if I permanently hurt that) But, well, the TRS articles aren't exactly popular (to understate it a bit), and at least one protester has complained about the poor quality of the articles "polluting the wiki". Having a lot of boss articles just stats pasted from another source won't exactly help people accept them into the Wiki anytime soon. I want these people to accept them as part of the Wiki, as I feel it is apart of Fire Emblem history, even if one that is divergent from the "main" franchise. If you need any help, such as you don't know how a template works, or are unsure about how to handle a character's class or anything like that, feel free to ask me.--Otherarrow 20:32, January 13, 2011 (UTC)

Ah! You are indeed a gentleman and a scholar! Your words have brightened not only my outlook but my evening as well. I thank you. Say no more. You are indeed in the right. Every single one of the 18 pages that do not exist anymore shall arise in a proper manner, the manner that was described to me. Of that, you have my word. =)--Aivass Remurias 02:49, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

That Link[edit source]

I didn't think there was a way to view Fire Emblem Wiki with MonoBook, until I saw that link on your page. I like MonoBook more than the new skin for this wiki.--Black Dragon Laguz 06:04, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

I know, right? =) Wishing I had a fancy Userbox so I could spread the love! I love that you like it! XD --Aivass Remurias 06:07, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm using Monobook right now, in fact. Haha, well, that would be really cool. I actually used to use that other one..."Monaco" I think it was called, which I thought was the best skin on wikia, but I don't think that one can be used anymore.--Black Dragon Laguz 03:16, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Aha. Yes, I just prefer Monobook, that's all. But I'm biased, see? The new skin has it's uses, too. However, I don't know anything about a "Monaco" skin right now. --Aivass Remurias 03:25, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

The new skin does have some uses, but it just isn't that good compared to Monobook. Before this new skin came out, I was using a skin that was like a combination of Monobook and the new skin. Part of the background was unique for different wikis (like the new skin) and it had a navigation thing on the left, kind of like Monobook, but it was more like a bar, rather then different boxes like "toolbox" and "content navigation".--Black Dragon Laguz 04:27, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Fire Emblem Game Stuff[edit source]

I've played Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Both of them are now my most favorite Fire Emblems. So, I am wondering; what other Fire Emblems have difficulty around those FE games I mentioned before?--Black Dragon Laguz 23:29, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you as quick as I'd like. However, I'm not sure what to say in response. All the FE games are on this wikia, so maybe you could try a few you haven't considered before. That, or you could try setting the difficulty higher on the games you already have, try getting all the songs and/or support conversations, take different paths through the games, try for special endings, etc. I really want to recommend FE6, as it's excellent for someone who is hungry for a bit of a challenge and is a fan of FE7.--Aivass Remurias 01:45, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

Offer[edit source]

Dude could you please turn Corpul's page back to normal? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Trueblade74 (talk • contribs).

Looks like an edit war is here. Since I don't know exactly what version "normal" is, I don't want to abuse what has been graciously given to me. I would humbly ask to remain neutral, but I would ask Otherarrow to help you in this case. I don't want to unwittingly fuel the flame.--Aivass Remurias 22:46, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Holy War Weapon Ranks[edit source]

It seems that weapon ranks in this game only change as the class changes or through Holy Blood (minor gives A, major gives *, to the Crusader's preferred weapon, if I recall correctly). Bosses without Holy Blood should have the same weapon ranks as anyone else of that class.--Otherarrow 16:27, April 14, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me complete those. I wasn't able to find that info. I think the problem was (and continues to be) that I didn't know the character's preferred weapon and/or didn't know the weapon ranks of others in the same class.--Aivass Remurias 22:24, April 14, 2012 (UTC)

Rollbacking[edit source]

I see you're trying to figure out how to rollback (revert edits). It appears as an additional function when you're looking at edit history; it appears on the right.--Thenewguy34 21:23, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, that much I knew already. It was more of a test of how it affects pages, not learning how to perform a Rollback itself.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

I'll Chip In If I Can[edit source]

what exactly am I supposed to do though, its been a long time since i've touched anything to do with charstat templates, and I wans't even that good at them then--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 04:22, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Working on it as we speak.--Aivass Remurias 04:27, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Okay well i'm working from the bottom up, so we should meet somewhere south of the middle. :)--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 04:40, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Ha! Well said.--Aivass Remurias 04:55, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
Hmm? Are you sure Semaj jumping in is OK? You put Engweimin and I on hold until you got finished with your session. Should I tell Engweimin that it is OK for him to continue?--Otherarrow 04:44, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that's fine. Honestly, I love that so many editors want to help. Everyone jump on in! I'm still going to go through all the character pages to check them, so by all means let's do this. =)--Aivass Remurias 04:50, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Okay up from the bottom until Lana has been done (with a little help from otherarrow along the way). I don't how to do Lanas on so I'm thinking this is a good time for a break, I might pop back online in an hour or so and help again if you guys are still plowing away, although it looks like things'll be done soon anyway.--Semajdraehs- any replies to my Talk page 06:01, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

I appreciate your help. Thanks!--Aivass Remurias 06:03, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks[edit source]

Thanks for the hard work you have put into improving the Seisen pages thus far. (Apologies for the late reply; I was studying earlier on, so I wasn't too sure as to what you were attempting to do with Lana's page then). When I find the time to, I will try my best to continue expanding the pages with images, language fixes and statistics inputting as well. --Engweimin 15:47, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

No problem, I can understand the studying! You are doing a great job with those pages!--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Please[edit source]

Please do not edit old messages, like you did in the forum. Please avoid doing such in the future.--Thenewguy34 23:47, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

I had a good reason to do so, and had you actually seen the edit, you would understand.--Aivass Remurias 00:10, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

I did. Please don't do it in the future.--Thenewguy34 00:19, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

Then you are mistaken in telling me that. I mean no offense, but as someone who has not been here that long (less than 3 months), you might benefit from looking at edits before telling someone not to do something.--Aivass Remurias 00:26, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

List of Seisen no Keifu Music[edit source]

hey Aivass Remurias thank`s if you were the one that made the song list page i started look like the other it`s still incomplete though so if it`s ok can you add on to it here and there?because im not able to do it for today so thank`s there is still alot of song`s to add im writeing them down right now.-- 00:57, April 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Looks like someone already got around to it--Aivass Remurias 01:58, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Gaiden Portraits[edit source]

Heads up: Like FE1, Gaiden reuses a lot of it's boss portraits. For example, Michael and Judah have the same portrait, despite Judah being a major villain and Michael being a one off boss. Slayer's portrait reappears a lot too. Also, do you want me to delete Michael's and replace it with the Judah image we have or is it fine the way it is now?--Otherarrow 00:37, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Otherarrow! Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, I was completely aware of what you're saying. My thing is that even if two characters share the same portraits, they should definitely have different file names. I have a better Judah image (without background that I will upload shortly, so if you could be on the lookout for the delete tag on the one we have, that'd be great.--Aivass Remurias 01:39, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, thanks. Of course, you could do what the FE1 boss portrait did and upload one file with a ambiguous filename and use it on multiple pages. Of course, whatever works for you will be fine with me.--Otherarrow 01:42, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hmm...I never thought of that. I would hesitate to follow that method, though, because it's kind of nice to be able to identify all the images if, say, one was looking at them on a category page, and not have to check what article is using it, if that makes sense.--Aivass Remurias 01:58, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
Oh and I just checked on this: Judah's robe is more pink, while Michael's is more of a purple, but I knew what you meant. Uploading now.--Aivass Remurias 02:02, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

There is a difference? Huh. Very slight, but it is there. Thanks.--Otherarrow 02:11, April 29, 2012 (UTC) The Wiki is saying that while Judah and Michael/Garcia are different, Michael and Garcia are the same file. I recommend only keeping one of those, maybe renaming the file to something else?--Otherarrow 02:27, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

I did notice that. For reasons stated above I went through with it. However, I will most certainly defer to your judgement on this matter, if that's okay.--Aivass Remurias 02:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

I went ahead and renamed Michael's portrait to the more vague "exorcist" and replaced Garcia's with it, if that is OK. But if you don't get that warning again, go ahead and upload the file. It might be a minor difference thing like Judah.--Otherarrow 02:34, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Sure thing. And yes, I have noticed the system is pretty good at detecting duplicates, it's great. You know, that kind of piqued my curiousity, though...if two images are the same, but have different file names (and we know that it is two different characters sharing a portrait) that bad? Sure, the wikia tells you, but...might it be better to have that than resort to using a generic name for both? Eh, I guess right now it's minor, but I'll keep this in mind.--Aivass Remurias 02:42, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Personally, I'd rather have one image at one file name just for efficiency, but that's just me. I guess it's a matter of personal taste?--Otherarrow 02:45, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I think you're right.--Aivass Remurias 02:48, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks For The Message[edit source]

Hi there, thank you very much for the heartwarming message; It was very much appreciated! I get by edit conflict issues by copying (Cmd+C) all the text within the editing box before clicking on the Submit button. In any case, thanks for the tip; I shall use it when editing in the future.--Engweimin 11:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, actually, I don't know what I was thinking back there...that's what I do too, but for some reason I involved MS Notepad in that process when I described it to you. Strange. Sorry about that. And you're welcome! Encouraging you is the least I can do. Having you around makes things a whole lot easier. You are very much valued here in my opinion. Thanks again.--Aivass Remurias 01:39, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Conflicting Edits[edit source]

I've noticed that you've been complaining about me. If you have a problem with one of my edits, just tell me. I find feedback more useful than not saying anything at all, leaving, or leading a personal attack against me (though the second is discouraged by wikipedia, admins have the right to violate this rule, though it's rather biased to do so). As with the edits, I'm not sure what to tell you. We could have different ways of editing things, or our points of view on editing could be different. However, I always get in these arguments: you're no exception. If you want to know more, there's some more information I told Otherarrow on my here.--Thenewguy34 23:12, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

You consider me asking for advice on handling the situation sensitively and respectfully a personal attack? That's laughable, and exactly why confronting you about it initially would've been a bad idea. I have done absolutely nothing remotely wrong here, so citing wikipedia rules and regulations almost has me laughing over here. As far as the edits, you may not be sure what to say, but I sure do: if you edit something incorrectly, we will correct it. That's it. I have things to do (both in real life and here), and getting into disputes like this is not one of them. I come here to edit and improve the knowledge base. Finally, if you "always get in these arguments" like you claim, well, what does that tell you? I've been here 3 years and this is the first time I've had any issue like this come up.--Aivass Remurias 22:50, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

About Moving Pages[edit source]

I don't exactly agree with you moving the Wolf page, but I get your reasoning, so I won't do anything about it. The reason I am here is, well, when you move a page, you have to go back and change the links in every page that linked to the moved page. I'll be honest, and I am sorry if this just sounds like bitching or whining or me being lazy, but I am tired of having to correct all the links every time someone else moves a page, because they didn't think to do so and just moved the page and did nothing else on the matter. If that makes sense.--Otherarrow 15:25, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

No, I'm aware of that. I'm actually intending to correct all those links once they appear on the full disambiguation list, so no worries.--Aivass Remurias 15:27, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, I usually do that with all the pages I move.--Aivass Remurias 15:30, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, thank you. Sorry for my whining and my lack of faith. My mistake. I changed the link on the navigation templates, so it should be easier to find the links once the Wiki notices that I changed the templates (which can take from a few hours to a day or so. Guh. My least favorite part about moving pages)--Otherarrow 15:31, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

I understand and I'm glad you mentioned it. Also, thanks for changing the navigation templates. That's usually a first step for me, as it can eliminate 80% of the work right away.--Aivass Remurias 15:34, May 6, 2012 (UTC)
By the way, "Sol" on the new Skill Navigation Template should probably be changed to "Sol (skill)".--Aivass Remurias 15:37, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Dark Warlord's Kakusei Stats[edit source]

hey thanks for fixing the skill links in my first edits i'm new to this but I saw empty things with like 2 done so I decidied to help thx and i'll rembember next time. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Goodpeople25 (talk • contribs).

No problem at all. Thanks for adding those stats!--Aivass Remurias 18:23, May 11, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks For The Tip[edit source]

Hello Aivass Remurias i got your message thanks for the tip!I`m slowly getting better at this editing stuff but not quite.I`m glad i have somone else to turn to for help i think somtimes Otherarrow get`s tired of having to help me all the time, but i try my best up here.look`s like there are nice people up here after all who try to,Otherarrow and Engweimin have my thanks and gratitude thank you all for trying to help me.let`s all work toghether to make this wiki a great place.--Naglfar94 01:10, May 13, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

No problem at all, I'll be more than happy to assist you when whenever I'm able to do so. Like I said, a lot of this editing stuff is just seeing how everything works on an already established page (that's the key), then just copy and pasting what you need, replacing the old values with new ones. For most every other case, try and observe how other users do things or look back on edits they may have corrected for you. That's really the easiest and fastest way to improve and will save you a great deal of time and hassle. I am appreciative and inspired by your positive attitude to improve the wiki. Looks to me like you just need to work a little on your punctuation and you'll be fine. We are all equals here, so please let me know if I can help you out.--Aivass Remurias 01:33, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Aivass Remurias i got your other Editing tip i tried it but i don`t think i did it i just clicked edit section this method is not right is it...-- 17:51, May 13, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

I'm not sure what you mean. I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. You are getting better.--Aivass Remurias 22:37, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Weapons List Problem[edit source]

hey Aivass Remurias what`s up with the weapons from kakusei? it`s like somone went and started the pages and then put nothing up at i am filling them in i already did Roy`s toughsword,Eirika`s swiftsword and Eliwood`s steelsword that leavs two more blank pages to fill.--Naglfar94 22:02, May 13, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

I think we were waiting for more information from Kakusei to be released. If you're talking about the content of the pages, Thenewguy34 likes to go to the Wanted Pages, start a page with very little useful information with a Stub tag, and we have to go back in and add to it. I've tried to get him to stop. Either way, thanks for adding those pages.--Aivass Remurias 22:37, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Your welcome Aivass Remurias now atleast thoes pages exist.oh yeah i already know about the stub pages from Thenewguy34 i saw the complaint debate on the talk pages.--Naglfar94 04:26, May 15, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Help[edit source]

Hi Aivass Remurias I need help I don`t know how to get that Charstat,Chargrowth template thing to look right. how do you name the sections of it?and how do you create it?I was trying to edit yodels page from monshou no nazo to add his stats and when I previewd the page the charstat thing took up the whole page and it had the wrong sections in it like Con,so I just stopped the edit as I probably would have gotten in alot of trouble if I did that.--Naglfar94 06:02, May 21, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

At this point, I think the simplest way to go about it would be to go to another FE3 character page and copy/paste the Charstat Template and the Chargrowth Template (at least for Yodel's case), then fill in the new values for the numbers and percentages. That way, you don't need to create it. You don't actually name the individual sections of the Charstat or Chargrowth, because the Template does that for you. It's hard to know what the problem is without seeing what you're seeing, so this method should work. If you need additional help, I would ask Otherarrow. Of course, I'll still be here if you need assistance. It's just that this week is going to be a bit busier for me than usual.--Aivass Remurias 01:56, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you I will try that.--Naglfar94 02:13, May 22, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

FE4 Star Icon[edit source]

Yes, it is from the actual game; I personally ripped it from the game itself.--Engweimin 07:11, May 21, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, ok! I was just wondering. Thanks!--Aivass Remurias 01:56, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Finally Figured It Out[edit source]

Hi Aivass Remurias, thank`s for telling me that copy paste thing for the stat`s template thing I figured out how to do it and I`m going to start useing it often when it come`s to stat`s editing thank you very much.Naglfar94 05:16, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Oh, no problem. Glad to assist. Be careful, though. I'd highly suggest taking a look at the changes I made to your new pages, Black Knight (Seisen no Keifu) and True Dragonstone. They needed a bit of help, and seeing what needed fixing can be helpful for future edits.--Aivass Remurias 05:32, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

ok. but I am truthfully alittle worried about that black knight page though I think it will be gone in a few hours. also I need your help I want to add a photo to Cuan and Ethlin`s page but the problem is I can`t tell who the other two caracter`s are in it.I`m guessing maybe young Eltshan and Siglud? is it ok if you take a look please? it will be with the other photo`s I won`t put it up on a page yet thank you for helping me.Naglfar94 05:42, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Yes, I've seen that CG before. I have a couple of ideas about that image, but you should definitely ask Aveyn Knight about all four of those characters, just to be certain. Aveyn Knight runs and is very knowledgeable about everything Fire Emblem.--Aivass Remurias 06:25, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

What's Going On?[edit source]

hey Aivass Remurias what is going on with that unregistered user? I wonder why somone would do somthing like that vandilism on a wiki that`s not good well I have to go now I`m just curious at what`s going on.--Naglfar94 06:12, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Vandalism happens quite often. The best thing to do is undo the edit, put Vandalism in the Edit Summary, and report the IP address(es) to an Admin right away, especially if it's intentional, repeated vandalism like that.--Aivass Remurias 06:25, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

ah I see. I left a message on the guy`s talk page to try and get him to stop.I see he`s giving King marth 64 problem`s too everything was just fine intil this unknown user came.--Naglfar94 06:31, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Don't bother wasting time trying to talk to deliberate, unregistered users who engage in vandalism. They will just edit, delete, or ignore your messages and it doesn't help anything. Just report them to an Admin. I already did, though.--Aivass Remurias 06:36, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

yeah I can clearly see that he just put C: on my talk page and he wrote somthing on his talk page under my message I give up I think Otherarrow will solve the problem.--Naglfar94 06:54, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Yes, please do. I don't want to dwell on it anymore than I need to. Attempting to talk usually just encourages more disruptions.--Aivass Remurias 07:00, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

yeah you are right well I will be leaving soon I think this little episode was enough excitement for me I had plan`s to edit other stuff but that`s out of the window now I will have to do that stuff later on now.well goodnight.--Naglfar94 07:15, May 28, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Well, when I said "I don't want to dwell on it", I was partly talking about this entire thread, which I thought should have ended six messages ago. I'm terribly sorry if that sounded rather blunt, as I'm not trying to be unfriendly. It's just that I don't like to encourage the vandals by having a big discussion about it when I don't really have to. Don't take it personally, though. You're not to blame. Let's just end it right here.--Aivass Remurias 07:32, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

oh no that`s fine you were not unfriendly at all I get what your saying I`m just glad it`s over.--Naglfar94 08:34, May 29, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Ok, see you around.--Aivass Remurias 18:59, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Fast Question[edit source]

Hi Aivass Remurias it`s been awhile since we spoke. anyhow I have a question I wanted to know if you knew of any pages that really needed help really bad because one by one lot`s and lot`s of page`s are getting complete! but I have been trying to add missing weapon icon`s now and I also started quotes.--Naglfar94 04:16, June 16, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

I can't really think of any right now. However, I noticed your user page is usuing a duplicate image that will probably be deleted soon. I fixed it, though.--Aivass Remurias 06:17, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

oh that`s fine Aivass Remurias but the image of Fala on my user page will stay right? or do I have to change it?--Naglfar94 06:02, June 16, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

It will stay, you don't have to do anything. I already fixed it so it links to the image we already had.--Aivass Remurias 06:17, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

thank you for fixing it!--Naglfar94 06:34, June 16, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Cropped Character Images[edit source]

Some of the single character images are cropped due to the fact that in the original scans themselves, other characters happen to be standing in front of them, or that certain parts of their clothing overlap that of the character in question. I have tried to utilize the Clone tool on Photoshop as best I could, but the result usually turned out to be highly unsatisfactory and slipshod. Y'see, I'm not exactly an expert on the intricacies of Photoshop...

I'll be sure to look through the unused files when I have the time to do so.--Engweimin 02:50, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

No problem at all, and yes, I was aware of the reason for the cropped images. I just wanted to check with you and see what your plans were for them. As for the Unused Files, no rush. We are in much better shape with those than we were even a few months ago, and considering all the Kakusei activity, that's not half bad.--Aivass Remurias 03:48, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

List[edit source]

I did my best to answer your list. Sorry if I came off as a bit crabby. It really caught me off guard.--Otherarrow 04:56, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, no problem. We're good. Thanks for your help. I just now left a response on your talk page, actually.--Aivass Remurias 05:20, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Name on Template?[edit source]

Explain that a bit better to me please. You threw me off when I was creating the demo.--Thenewguy34(Other) 10:24, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. Some weapons have the same icons but different names (or the same name but different icons). It's more of a fix for the first case. As far as the width for "Name", it can always be expanded if something doesn't end up fitting in the future.--Aivass Remurias 10:30, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, the first template is done! It covers everything from FE6 to FE10 (Not FE11, we need to create separate rules for that due to FE11's similarities to FE12, and FE12 does not possess a weight formula). An example can be seen on Durandal.--Thenewguy34(Other) 10:49, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Here's a visual that makes all this a bit easier to understand.
FE1: Name Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Wlv Worth Effect(s)
FE2: Name Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Effect(s)
FE3: Icon Name Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Wlv Worth Effect(s)
FE4: Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Wt Rng Uses Worth Effect(s)
FE5: Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth Effect(s)
FE6: Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth Effect(s)
FE7: Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
FE8: Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
FE9: Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
FE10:Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
FE11:Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Wt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
FE12:Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
FE13:Icon Name Rank Mt Hit Crt Rng Uses Worth WEx Effect(s)
As you can see, FE7-FE11 are exactly the same, so it totally makes sense to include them in your template. Ideally, there will be:
  • An FE1&3 Template (exactly the same except for Icon)
  • An FE2 Template
  • An FE4 Template
  • An FE5&6 Template (exactly the same)
  • An FE7-11 Template (exactly the same)
  • An FE12-13 Template (exactly the same)
Note that the individual stats aren't in the proper order as they should be in the Templates (I like the way you have yours), I just lined them up so you can see the patterns more clearly.--Aivass Remurias 11:40, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Don't forget TearRing Saga!--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:57, June 24, 2012 (UTC)

Good call! Thanks for reminding me! =) Check your Talk Page, I left a message there.--Aivass Remurias 13:01, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
I want to add that, in hindsight, WEx is used in FE5 and FE6. WEx is always 1 in FE5~FE6 (except for staves), and is always 2 in FE11 (except for the real Imhullu and for Dragonstones, where it is 0). In FE7~10, different weapons and staves have varying values of WEx (around 1~8). Therefore, the Template:WeaponStatFE5-6 is obsolete. This actually simplifies things. A temporary template redirect, along with a moderate series of edits, should make this work better. I'm sorry for the lapse in oversight.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 14:45, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Template:WeaponStatFE4[edit source]

Can you create the how-to-use table? It's very late and I have to get off. (P.S. Geesh, I can't believe people are still waiting for Shin Monshou no Nazo; it's already been 2 years since Japanese release, and they're still reverting my edits about it being unlikely. If you're still here, can you please watch this page for me in case someone reverts it?) --Thenewguy34(Other) 00:33, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

Just for FE4, right? Sure, not a problem, I understand. As for the FE12, I'll keep on eye on it, no worries. Thanks for your help.--Aivass Remurias 00:37, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

I think that I remembered that FE8 3DS Virtual Console for the Ambassador Program did announced after Kakusei announced and released before Kakusei got released was like December 2011. And I did saw couple of other things was Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure (14th) was released after Minish Cap (15th) in Europe and Wario Land 4 for the 3DS Virtual Console Ambassador Program did release after Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 for the Game Boy Virtual Console for Europe and US and I did saw the Kid Icrasus Game Boy Virtual Console game did release before Uprising released in Japan and Europe and is going to release after for US. I wasn't too sure about this, I found that out that was after Kakusei announced the release date for Europe.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) Peace_Ness.png 01:41, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

King Marth 64, I'm a bit confused. What was all that about? I don't remember ever talking about that with you, let alone having anything to do with what you are saying. Thanks for the observation, I guess?--Aivass Remurias 22:47, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Class Stats[edit source]

Most of the class pages don't have stats actually. I think it was only recently that people started adding maximum stats, but bases aren't around yet. While I do say we need those stats, I'd rather we make a template for it instead of reusing the character stats one. Just looks...kinda sloppy to me. Sorry for any trouble.--Otherarrow 04:58, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

No trouble at all, I agree with you on that. I'd rather put that project aside until the WeaponStat Templates are done, anyway. We actually already have a very nice ClassStat Template (only valid for FE4, though).--Aivass Remurias 00:08, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Question[edit source]

In FE4, some weapons have Holy Blood requirements (like the Tyrfing). Should we include that to Template:WeaponStatFE4, and mark those without the requirement with "none"?--Thenewguy34(Other) 20:08, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

Since only a handful of weapons have that limitation, I'd just list it with the effects. Unless you really want to have it the other way of course.--Otherarrow 20:30, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree with Otherarrow's idea. That's why the Weapon Rank is there. It's only a slight issue with the Holy Weapons that share weapon types (the 3 Swords and the 2 Lances). That's it, just those, and they can be easily fixed by just adding "Vylon and Siglud only", "Eltshan and Aless only", etc. to the effects column or below the template with an asterisk.--Aivass Remurias 00:08, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Start?[edit source]

Can you please start adding the weapon templates to the weapon pages? Thanks.--Thenewguy34(Other) 22:28, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, but I won't be able to get to many of them today. I saw the WeaponStat for FE12-13 that you just made. It should be ready to use now. I guess I'll start there.--Aivass Remurias 22:47, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Staff Pages[edit source]

Should we create separate templates for staff pages, since staves are a bit different from other weaponry?--Thenewguy34(Other) 10:47, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

No, for things like HP replenished or HP cost, the Effect(s) column can be used. For Location (saw some of that on the Physic page), that can just be put as a note outside the template. I don't think they are different enough to make a Staff Template for almost every game.--Aivass Remurias 13:12, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

Note[edit source]

I am going to be out all of next week, so I cannot update the weapon articles all of next week. If you can, I ask that you can pick up where I left off on updating the articles.--Thenewguy34(Other) 19:40, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I will do what I can. Have a nice break.--Aivass Remurias 19:42, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

A Question About Yesterday[edit source]

hi Aivass Remurias I wanted to ask you can I please please put the edit back up that I did yesterday? for Akaneia and Jugdral. the info I got is true really the two are close toghether I would not put it there if it was not true...really..--Naglfar94 21:58, June 29, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Could you show me your source for this? Also, you were saying that two locations were both southeast of each other. That can't happen. Think about it.--Aivass Remurias 03:50, June 30, 2012 (UTC) want me to tell you where I got the info from?--Naglfar94 22:11, June 30, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

ok ok I`m sorry I will tell you where I got the info from I did not want to tell you becuase I thought you might think thoese places are silly to get info from. I saw it the first time in a summary about FE4 on Ebay and recently I saw the same stuff on the Gaming Wiki that`s where I got it from and if I`m not mistaken some other site but I forgot. Can I please..please put the stuff back up? just tell me if it`s ok or not but yeah I found it in thoese spot`s I`m telling the truth.--Naglfar94 01:58, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Based on what you just said, why? I already knew that info was bad, but now you're saying the sources were an Ebay listing, the Gaming Wikia and some other site you forgot? The most current info we have is that everything is connected through the Other World Gate. Let's at least wait until an English release or a reliable source presents itself.--Aivass Remurias 02:03, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

ok.--Naglfar94 02:21, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

For the record, though, I checked your Gaming Wiki source. While the original article does incorporate most of it's content from the Wikipedia article for FE4, the bit about "Judgral being southeast of Akaneia" was added in by the original author completely on his own. I'm not sure why the author wrote that. While it's true that Akaneia and Jugdral both have the connection with Naga, the details surrounding that are only made known in the developer's notes or by reading Shouzou Kaga's posts on the topic. Even then, there's nothing about one being just southeast of the other (or both, which doesn't make sense anyway). Kakusei provides a more definitive answer, in that they are linked somehow by the Other World Gate.--Aivass Remurias 02:27, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

oh I did not know I thought the info was real I guess I really messed up this time. For now I just won`t use them as a source anymore sorry.--Naglfar94 02:43, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

No problem, don't worry too much about it. We're good.--Aivass Remurias 02:45, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

I Am Back[edit source]

But you will need to give me some time to get things sorted out; everything has become a doozy over the last week.--Thenewguy34(Other) 18:51, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, welcome back.--Aivass Remurias 18:59, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

New Look On Pages?[edit source]

hey Aivass Remurias what`s going on with the weapon and item page`s now? are we going for a new look on all of them? I noticed the stats and stuff are being put into that grey template thing now..I was just wondering as I`m seeing change going on.--Naglfar94 06:50, July 15, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

We are starting to add templates to pages instead of listing the stats. Like what we do with characters (i.e. Fiora or Devdan)--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:36, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
Thenewguy34 basically said it all. We have been adding the WeaponStat Templates we created to the Weapon pages, I've been adding the ItemStat I created to Item pages, and Engweimin has been adding the SkillStat that he/she created to the Skill pages (and doing a great job cleaning them up in the process).--Aivass Remurias 18:59, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

I see thank you both for telling me because I was starting to notice pages getting changed so I`m wondering what is going on? it will take me some time to get used to the new looks but I`m assuming the change is for the better right? it does make the pages look a bit neat I guess thanks for telling.--Naglfar94 19:24, July 15, 2012 (UTC)Naglfar94

Soren[edit source]

Hello, can you clean the page Soren for me? I have stuff to do, so I cannot get to most of it right now. Thanks!--Thenewguy34(Other) 22:47, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Done. Yeah, that was an absolute mess. Among other things, a user had copypasted all of Ike and Soren's support conversations from one of the games. I left a message on the edit summary. We should try not to use death, retreat, or battle quotes for the featured quotes of character articles if they have other dialogue that can be used instead. However, with some characters (minor bosses in FE2, for example), there isn't much choice.--Aivass Remurias 00:13, July 16, 2012 (UTC)

Should We?[edit source]

Do you think we should move "Warren" to "Warren (Monshō no Nazo)", since there is a Warren in Hasha no Tsurugi?--Thenewguy34(Other) 15:04, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I agree with moving it. Go ahead. Actually, please do the same with Arcadia. All I ask is that you change the links on all the affected templates. After a day has gone by, I don't mind going back in and fixing all the non-template links.--Aivass Remurias 15:09, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

Midia[edit source]

This article is a huge mess. I have stuff to do; can you please clean it up? Thanks!--Thenewguy34(Other) 22:37, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

I'll look into it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 18:29, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the Welcome![edit source]

I'd be glad to help out with what I can. I've been lurking here for quite a long time, but I was always nervous to edit much because I don't have much experience with this sort of thing. But if I see something I think I can help out with, I'll do it! ---DarkHeroRaven (talk) 17:05, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Great work! Thanks! The pages you have made so far are great starts! I think that because there is so much involved with most recent pages you created (Everyone's Room and especially Double), they were daunting tasks, probably why they were still wanted pages up until now. I will try and remember to add more to them, hopefully sometime next week. Again, if I can be of help to you or if you need assistance, let me know and I will do my best to help (although Otherarrow would be better, especially because I expect to be just checking things this week, editing much less than usual).
I'm sorry to hear that you felt nervous about editing before. I want to make you feel welcome if I can and have the lines of communication open. I admit, it can be tough around here at times...--Aivass Remurias (talk) 04:16, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Need Class Stat Template Has Been Added[edit source]

I am not sure if you see this or not, that I just created the new Need Stat template for Class pages and so that we can use the Need Class Stat Template instead of adding the wrong Need Stat Template for Classes, the code was: NeedstatU and I just changed all the Class pages with the Need Character Stat template to the Need Class Stat template, I just letting you know.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 23:38, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

I definitely did notice. Thanks! That was a much need addition to the FE Wikia! You even made a related category, excellent. I agree with what Otherarrow said about the template's use for now, as I saw his talkpage comments on it. Just curious, what is the "U" in "NeedstatU". I know we couldn't use "C" because that's the template we use for character articles. Maybe we could have "NeedStatCh" for characters and "NeedStatCl" for classes? Something to think about, especially when we can get to a point where not many pages are using them (meaning fewer template redirects that need changing if they are renamed).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:24, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

<!--Column-->[edit source]

Are you suggesting that we completely rid of putting <!--Column--> before each stat? Because I personally think that adding <!--Column--> was a convenient reminder to anyone who does not understand it (and this is completely different from the redirect issue, where we had the search engine).--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:25, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

Eventually, yes. It's not really that convienient. If someone doesn't understand what's going on, they probably won't edit the template, anyway. Actually, it's still fairly easy to see what's going on with the column reminder removed. The whole thing kind of outlived it's usefulness (although I can kind of see why it may have been used early on).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:46, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

Weapon Rank Articles[edit source]

On the rank lists (ie. B-rank Weapons), can you split the GBA sections? I have stuff to do. I am going to mark List of A-rank weapons and List of S-rank weapons for cleanup, and then I am logging out. List of A-rank weapons is a good manual of style to follow once I finish cleaning it up. Thanks!--Thenewguy34(Other) 17:41, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I see what you mean. I'll do as you ask for the E, D, C, and B lists.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:46, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

FE4 Battle Sprites[edit source]

Oh, thank you for the appreciation! I think I'll make this my new project. :)--GwenhwyfarRaven (talk) 14:31, September 15, 2012 (UTC)GwenhwyfarRaven

You're welcome.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:36, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Twelve Crusaders Image[edit source]

I saw in the editing history that you would like the numbers added to the featured image of the Twelve Crusaders, so I added them. I also added the names on a separate image just to see what it would look like. Here's the image with the numbers and here's the image with the names. It's very simple and basic, but I think it's functional. I'd like your suggestions and your opinion regarding which to put on the page. :) Thanks!--GwenhwyfarRaven (talk) 16:38, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Wow! You are excellent! Thank you! When I wrote that, I had the Eight Legends page in mind. I originally thought that because there are so many (12 instead of 8), and the Crusaders image is differnt than the Eight Legends image, numbers would be a better way to go (less image obstruction, maybe?). On the other hand, the names are also fantastic now that I see them, and it matches how the Eight Legends page was done.
Tough decision! I think I'm slightly in favor of the names at this point, maybe if they were just a bit smaller? In the end, I would encourage you to ask Otherarrow (our admin) to make the final call. Make sure you show him what I said about it, though (you can just link to this particular thread on his talkpage along with your message, like this: User talk:Aivass Remurias#Twelve Crusaders Image. Maybe we can leave the image we didn't end up using in the wanted images or the talk page of Twelve Crusaders. Either way, thanks a bunch!
I think there is only one other pending image request I have now (see Hector's takpage). Just thought I'd mention it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:27, September 17, 2012 (UTC)
I really like the one with the names, actually. All it needs are letters with a font that cuts out a good portion of the body of each letter (which I'm pretty sure is possible).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:40, September 17, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for not replying promptly! I feel awful about it. :( I'm concentrating so hard on this family tree diagram I'm making for the Jugdral series, I totally forgot to refresh this page. Anyway, yeah, the font I used was just Times New Roman in bold, so I should just make it not-bold? Would that do?--GwenhwyfarRaven (talk) 00:13, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
Not a problem! Don't feel awful...I'm sorry if you felt rushed! =( As for your idea of using unbolded text, I'm sure that will work just fine.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:17, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, try the unbolded Niagara Engraved font (if you are using MS Word). That will ensure that more of the actual image isn't blocked.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:19, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
I don't have Niagara font on either MS Word or GIMP, but I googled it and saw what you were aiming for. I don't think I have any font that looks like that, but I think I hit a little closer to the mark this time. This is the image Garamond font.--GwenhwyfarRaven (talk) 00:34, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, ok. The full name was Niagara Engraved, actually (I liked it because big portions of the letters were cut out, revealing more of the image behind). The Garamond font you just mentioned is thinner, so I guess that's still better than before. Try that, then. Thanks!--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:38, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I looked for that, but there's nothing like it on my comp. :\ Anyway, I'd make the fonts smaller, but I'm afraid that they won't show up on the smaller version of the image that will be seen on the page. Should we present this to Otherarrow now--GwenhwyfarRaven (talk) 00:43, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
You're right about the letter size. Yes, please go ahead and let Otherarrow know.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:46, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
I see no problem with it I guess.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:58, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

Glare[edit source]

Apologies for leaving the information of this skill increasing the Defense of the enemy unit.

It is, however, redundant to state that Nailah will be unable to attack for the rest of the turn, as usage of this skill essentially counts as an action that will take up a whole turn.

Thanks for the well-wishes, in any case.--Engweimin (talk) 01:01, September 30, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, no problem. And yes, I understand what you're saying about the attack inability, that makes sense. I left the initial message about this on your talkpage, so I thought you'd respond there. Not to worry, I look at virtually everything that happens at any time in the Recent Changes, escpecially messages between users, so there's no need to think I won't see a response to something I left on another talkpage (since that won't trigger a message alert).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:50, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Formatting Disagreement[edit source]

It appears we have a disagreement in terms of formatting. When I first came here, I seldom ever saw "Background" or "Chapter Information". We cannot just use the normal quote template, or what? Do we see "Background" and "Character Information" for character articles, like Rebecca and Haar? Neither of our methods are in any way the superior. I understand the Column stuff a bit, I just missed your response on your talk page for a while. Let us get on the same page here, and compromise.--Thenewguy34(Other) 23:05, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

I left a message on your talk page addressing this and the example you put forth.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:07, October 1, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, the quote template was used for awhile, and is still used for most chapters without an opening narration. For chapters that do actually have an opening, the Background heading is used.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:09, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

We still are not in an agreement in the past week or two. But I do have a problem with formatting clean-up: The WeaponStat templates. Shouldn't the end tags all be merged into one, because they are all the same? (Template:WeaponStatFE5&6/end --> Template:WeaponStat/end). It is rather redundant to label them differently. --Thenewguy34(Other) 23:17, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

While I was responding to you, you added your signature to your previous message that you forgot, edit conflicting me, and I lost my whole damn response. LOL! To sum it up: Look at what Fabsu93 has been doing in regards to that. Charstat/end, Chargrowth/end, WeaponStat/end, and SkillStat/end are pretty much the only template endings we need now. No rush, though, as it will take a long time to change all of those, and the extra templates themselves are only 2 characters each, with the name differences not much bigger than that. So while I agree with you, there's no rush. The size differences are about as small as they come.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:28, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

This message here is not exactly the most important response, but you could not hit the back button to retrieve your message? --Thenewguy34(Other) 23:32, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

That's okay. But no, it doesn't quite work that way. The wiki attempts to merge the two iterations, but what ends up happening is that your changes end up taking precedence because they were the last to be added to the page. The only way to really prevent it is by right-clicking and copying what was written first, and if the browser asks for the frist user to resend their info and the first changes aren't there, they can paste what was copied in the previous step.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:37, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

Also, I am fairly certain that you use the monobook skin. Please confirm to King Marth that my edits to Rebecca are indeed legitimate.--Thenewguy34(Other) 23:43, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

Already done.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:45, October 1, 2012 (UTC)

But he did put in 20px on the Roy page in the Stats template which he putted in last time like a couple of months ago and I don't use wiki skin, it looks kinda cluttered.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 00:04, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

20 px is not always the solution. And also, I am not bugging either of you. Do not request Otherarrow that I be blocked; my edits are not malignant.--Thenewguy34(Other) 00:11, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not sure why King Marth 64 said those things. Ok, maybe I have some idea...but I think that was taken too far. I was not annoyed in the least (ok, well not anymore than normal). Currently, as far as I'm concerned, there's no issue between us.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:18, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I was kinda a little bit confused, sorry, I was kinda helping out the wiki, I didn't mean to do something bad, it was kinda a confusion.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 00:23, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

That's okay. I can kind of understand in general, but in this instance, I had no problem with anything Thenewguy34 did today, as we talked about what we disagreed on and that was all settled. Again, I have no problem with that user, currently. I assume good faith, and today, that wasn't hard to do.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:33, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

CharStat Templates[edit source]

Yeah, I know that the Charstat /end templates are not needed. The code source for the end templates is just plain |}. If you do choose to change it, be aware that those /end templates affect over 1,000 pages on the wiki.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:16, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

I knew all this even before I started. If you find an /end template listed in the unused templates list, feel free to mark it for deletion. The key is that they need to be listed as unused before you do so. After last night, there should be some listed now.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:07, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Class Icons[edit source]

I am going to be installing a program similar to photoshop to my computer soon. If you would do a favor for me and put a list of all of the class icons that do not have transparent backgrounds on my talk page, that would be great. Once I get that program installed, I will start working on removing the white backgrounds.--Thenewguy34(Other) 14:29, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

I would, but ever since last month, I've not been able to see any images on this site without going to each file's individual page. It has something to do with a temporary (I hope) inability to display Jscript in Monobook using my browser. As such, I would be extremely unhelpful and slow in fulfilling this. I will say this, though: there's a difference between class icons and map sprites. Class icons are representative class portraits, usually generic enemies will have them. Map sprites are what a unit looks like on the chapter map. Based on previous comments, I'm assuming you are talking about map sprites.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:07, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
Correct. I just got the application installed, and I want to fix the map sprites.--Thenewguy34(Other) 17:43, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
Ok. Click "Upload a new version of this file" on the file's page instead of uploading an entirely new image and having the other, superseded file deleted. It preserves previous contributions from past editors and is better than having a mess.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:49, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
Hell, it is not reading the transparent background.--Thenewguy34(Other) 17:53, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not even able to tell the difference, unfortunately. I can't see what the icons look like when displayed the pages they are used on. I can only see them on their individual file pages, which can't differentiate between clear and opaque backgrounds. Engweimin would probably be able to help out better than I can in this case. I wish I could be more helpful.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:58, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
Well, the background is starting to fade, so I guess it just takes a few minutes. I hope you get your ability to view images back.--Thenewguy34(Other) 18:02, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! I hope so, too! I really appreciate what you are trying to do with the transparent backgrounds. I'd highly recommend Engweimin, who knows a lot about images and has done some of the things you are attempting.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 18:08, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Relevant update. JavaScript in my web browser's Monobook view is now fixed, so I'm no longer having the problem I described above, meaning I might be able to help more effectively than I could before. Thoughts?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 01:32, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

It appears that you just need to refresh to get the updated file. I can work on all of the files that need a transparency update. Hmm... all of the GBA map sprites are in blue! I might ask King Marth if he is capable of getting the red map sprites.--Thenewguy34(Other) 13:07, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

Ok, that sounds good.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 18:55, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

Quick Question[edit source]

Do you mind if we switch from using "Stats" in headers to "Statistics" in the headers for the formal touch? I should also mention that another one of my questions did not get answered.--Thenewguy34(Other) 20:16, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

That was something I kind of started awhile back, but it sort of got lost in the shuffle because of time and more important things, so I dropped it. While I used to have some kind of opinion on it, it's not really up to me. I will say that if you support it, it should give it a little more strength. I've no problem right now with using it in headers, but it's ultimately up to Otherarrow. As for the redirect, that was one of the "not so easy" redirects I mentioned before. I don't have the answer right here and now, but whatever is written in the actual game should be fine, I think. There are still plenty of other ones left in the Special pages list that are fairly easy to identify as "bad".--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:33, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
In short, go for it. I think Engweimin prefers it as well.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:35, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Template:Charstat[edit source]

Can you please look at the "Demo" section? I am unsure how I should re-code it.--Thenewguy34(Other) 01:14, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

I just looked at it, and I'm pretty sure I got what you talked about. What's displayed in the demo section could be better, but now I think it's easier to work with. Thanks for showing me. I think that template may become obsolete in the future, though. Nevertheless, I don't mind helping where I can.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 01:25, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

Special:UncategorizedFiles[edit source]

We have a very large amount of Uncategorized files, can you please categorize them? I can do some of them, but you know stuff like this better than I do.--Thenewguy34(Other) 14:28, December 9, 2012 (UTC)

I have been aware of them for quite a while. Many of those are either of dubious usefulness or involve using categories that haven't even been made yet. Once categorized, sometimes incompletely, it becomes very difficult to find them and fix them, so many have been there for a bit. There used to be much more, well over 250, but myself and others got what we could over time. I guess I'll just let the cache clear and see what's left. Looks like you got a good chunk of them, anyway. Thanks for that.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:26, December 9, 2012 (UTC)

File:Something.jpg or Something.jpg?[edit source]

I have noticed that Engweimin has been removing File: tags from images in galleries. I know that, at times, it can be extremely difficult to go through very large galleries, and File: helps, though with smaller galleries, File: is somewhat redundant. Can you please give me your thoughts on this?

<gallery> File:Marth.jpg|With the file tag Marth.jpg|Without the file tag. They are the same. </gallery> --Thenewguy34(Other) 20:44, December 10, 2012 (UTC)

Right, right. Well, let me preface my opinion with this: Whatever my opinion may be, one way or another, the community should have a discussion about it, if Otherarrow determines it is the time for one. Ultimately, he has the final say, I think. Regardless of what my opinion is, it doesn't mean it's a mandate or I have the power to "give the ok" or what not. Ok, that was the boring part, sorry. An unfortunate but necessary disclaimer. I'm learning just like everyone else.
Right, so now my opinion. I'm a minimalist when it comes to code, and a realist when it comes to content, in a nutshell. This is a coding concern. I really dislike code that doesn't do anything (or no longer does anything), but in this case, I don't mind having the "File" prefix before Files in gallery boxes. I think it's a good practice, and I'm not entirely sure it actually does '"nothing". It is helpful for large galleries. For small ones, like 3-5 Files or less, I don't think it would be a bad idea to have those with the "File" prefix as well. Consistency is important if we are to approach an optimal manual of style. I think it might be helpful to add that most pages (rough estimate, maybe 70%) already have the "File" prefix on most (90%) if not all of their gallery boxed files. So...
I am (and was) well aware of what you so painstakingly illustrated above. I can't fault you for being specific, though. Thanks for that. I'd really like to hear the opinions of Otherarrow (obviously), Fabsu93, Engweimin, King Marth 64, and yourself. Probably in the Forum. If Otherarrow wills it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:23, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

Thenewguy hiatus[edit source]

He requested that I block him because he wants to go on hiatus for personal reasons but says he lacks the willpower to go through with it. He wanted me to tell you. If he ever wants to change his mind, all he has to do is post on his talk page, but eh.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:08, December 12, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, ok. Not much I can say about that.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:04, December 14, 2012 (UTC)

King Marth Being Stubborn[edit source]

If you look here, you will notice that, in his revision, he tried to code my message so it would not appear in his talk page. Will you please come and express your point of view on this? I am trying to talk to him about the sizing of map sprites on Gaiden pages like Dahha, but he is being too stubborn to give me his thoughts.--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:13, December 20, 2012 (UTC)

Right, I saw that back when it happened. That was not good. Forgive me, it's just that I'm quite backlogged with edits and seeing what people have been saying on user talk pages, made a bit harder by the time of year.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:22, December 23, 2012 (UTC)
I want to add, though, that you are both good editors. There are a just a couple of things here and there that have been difficult to adjust to, but I'm hopeful we can work through them. More on that later if I can get the opportunity. In retrospect, the real challenge (albeit a rewarding one) over this past year was re-cultivating a core group of solid editors who knew what to do and what was going on. The reality is that we all can't be on here all the time making sure content is done the right way. That's why having other editors to cover for each other is so great.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:39, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo weapon icons[edit source]

With icons like File:Silver bow icon.png, do you think we should remove the blue background? Or should we just leave it as is? I want to keep consistency with other weapon icons, but nobody ever touched the Monshō no Nazo icons. What do you think?--Thenewguy34(Other) 14:24, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

I'm cool either way, really.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:32, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

Some things about weapon articles[edit source]

  1. From a couple of revisions (for example, Steel Bow), I have noticed that you are splitting the Shadow Dragon and Shin Monshō no Nazo sections, despite the similarities. Is there a real need to split them into two sections?
  2. If you look at some of Engweimin's revisions on pages like Fimbulvetr and Tornado, the icons for the weapon types forms a break in the line. Should I expand the weapon type boxes so this does not occur? I made a sample in my sandbox, if you need to look at a sample of my idea.

--Thenewguy34(Other) 13:17, February 2, 2013 (UTC) It's a great day to for Fire Emblemers. =). Here I go.

  1. Steel Bow was a test, and the test found that splitting them actually uses less bytes than the blurb about weight being nonexistent in FE12. A distinction between FE11 and FE12 was made for a reason. My thing is that I only merge if they are exactly the same (which is the case in some FE7-8 weapons. That's why I did it.
  2. Good observation! A combination of the Clr template, expanding the box, and changing the icon size will get us through. Nice idea. I like what you did there. Obviously, you don't need to make a new template if you are changing box sizes. Just fiddle with the existing one.

I hope I provided the information you were looking for. Thanks for your help. I have a couple of messages on your talkpage when you have the time. The only other thing I'm kind of leery about is the removal of the blue backgrounds from FE3 icons. It removes a lot more of the actual icon itself than I previously thought, which, when you think about it, is counterproductive. Easy to fix on this end if it gets really bad, though.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 13:55, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

I Need Something To Do[edit source]

Can you give me a task to do? My priorities have started floating around a bit since the release of Fire Emblem: Awakening. Can you give me a task please?--Thenewguy34(Other) 13:07, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Hi! =) I'm on my way out for about 8 hours or so. While I'm not really in a position to hand out tasks (it makes me a little uncomfortable right at the moment), I appreciate the request (and believe me, the same "floating" has happened to me since FE13 was localized as well). Maybe it's just because I'm about to log out for awhile. What might pique your interest is this: weapon pages. You and I have a nice mutual understanding of what is going on with those. Basically just adding WeaponStat templates and italicizing the headings, I guess? Now that there are fewer options for those templates than before, I think it will be even easier.
I want to apologize for the timing of my departure today, and the perceived brevity of my response, if applicable. I am really impressed with the progress we have made together and hope to talk/collaborate more in the near future.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 13:25, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Mystery of the Emblem Links[edit source]

Hey Aivass, I got a quick question about: can you might help out fixing those other links for FE3 to change to "Mystery of the Emblem" since thats a legacy name for FE13 right now like the FE4 title, I don't have an enough time to finish it all today and I kinda feel really tired and I did it over for hours working on it, but can you might help out to fix those links out for right now?-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 09:06, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, King Marth 64! Nice to hear from you. I see you have been pretty busy, thanks for chipping away at those links! =) I will try and get what I can, as I have been with other links from before. Recently, I've been pressed for time myself. I will try and get a few before I sign out. I'm pretty backlogged with other edits, though. Ah...such is life.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:12, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Quick Clarification[edit source]

Looking at one of your edit notes: "Ok, so the Risen are the organization, composed of Risen (new name for Revenant), and Risen Chiefs (new name for Entombed)...right?"

No, Revenant and Entombed are still Revenant and Entombed. Risen to Entomed is Bandit to Brigand. Faction name, class. So, 'Risen' is just a faction name. Risen Cheif is the 'name' of the boss unit (Since undead most of the time aren't going to have names), neither Risen and Risen Cheif are a class.

Wasn't sure how to answer your question, so talk page? Sorry for the clutter.L95 (talk) 02:13, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

No problem. Thanks for noticing that and coming over here to discuss it. I think you brought this up on one of the article talk page. There was some confusion in the early days of FE13 localization and such, hence the situation. I think it's clearer now. From what I understand. We have 1. Risen, the organization, categorized as an organization page, 2. Risen (the class), and 3. Risen Chief (the class). I believe #2 and #3 are the new names of the previously named Revenant and Entombed classes, respectively, like how we weapon pages are done (we have an old name, then a new one put on the same page). I don't think the Risen situation has been fully fixed/implemented on templates, the monster page, etc. But I believe that is how it works, correct me if I'm wrong.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:23, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
Wait a minute, I think I get your point. I think the only fix that needs to be made is removing the Risen and Risen Chief from the Monster page list. What I wrote in the body of that article is still fine, I think. Clarifies it well. I think I removed Risen and Risen Chief from the Class template some time ago (can't remember), but they aren't on that template. I'll go make that fix I mentioned now. Thanks for wanting to talk about this.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:30, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
Whoops, they were still on Template:Creaturenav. Fixed. All that's left is to merge (see the "Risen Chief" page), although there isn't too much to merge the Risen Chief page to the Risen page and mark the Risen Chief page for deletion. If you could finish up by doing that, I'd be grateful. I have to sign out in a bit.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:43, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Fire Emblem UK Event[edit source]

Hey there!

In case this applies to you, I wanted to draw your attention to an upcoming UK Fire Emblem event.

Best, Jorge (profile)•(talk) 21:03, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Apologies for the late reply. I am totally interested in this. I have done this at the state level (i.e. very large conventions/panels), but I am not a world-class authority on the topic like Shouzou Kaga or Aveyn Knight. At least not in the neighborhood of justifying the hike to the complete opposite side of the globe to do so. But I appreciate the invitation; it pains me that I won't even be available at that time due to work projects. Wouldn't it be interesting to see Aivass Remurias/Semajdraehs/Vincent ASM/Otherarrow/Engweimin/Thenewguy34/King Marth 64/Fabsu93 and all our other contributors in person? A rare treat. Sadly, it may have to wait until Fire Emblem 14. Thanks, though.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:31, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

Happy Response[edit source]

Thank you. I'm happy to see your message. I don't have any friends here. I hope we can talk again. Um, one more. Please use "easy words" when you talk to me. Because my english is really bad :DHolyXColony (talk) 12:20, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

We probably won't be talking much, then, lol. This is an English wikia, so that will make it kind of difficult to do pretty much anything. But whatever. Enjoy. =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:05, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Awakening Chapter Quotes[edit source]

Hello, Aivass Remurias! I've noticed you've undone most of the quotes I've added for the Awakening Chapter pages. I'm wondering why. Most of the pages had a "needquote" template, so I started filling the pages in with quotes relevant to the in-game synopsis. My intention was to create a "feeling" for the chapter like our character pages here, and I think I was doing a pretty good job. Anyway, let me know what's up. Lobera (talk) 21:57, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Wait, I see you've already left something on my talk page. I didn't get a notification about it. Nevermind!--Lobera (talk) 22:02, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Right. Your intentions were fine and admirable, and I in no way want to hinder your efforts here. You are doing a fine job! I apologize if my repairs came across in a way that caused you displeasure, though. This topic came up just a little while ago and hasn't been completely rolled out since. By the time FE13 was released in NA, the wikia had a mountain of things to contend with, and it sort of fell by the wayside in favor of more pressing concerns. From the looks of it, it seems to have stayed there a bit too long, hence the current confusion. I did leave something on your talkpage, so I would have preferred to have this elaborated upon there, but too late I guess =P. Go to "My Preferences" and change to the "Monobook" skin over the "Oasis" or "New Wikia" skins (the defaults). In short, those suck for whole host of reasons. Monobook is where it's at, and makes the site a whole lot easier to use as an editor vs. a casual viewer.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:34, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

I'll change the skin and see how it works.  Thanks for the tip!  Lobera (talk) 20:07, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever in the use of Monobook or anything else wikia related. One thing you will notice is the almost nonexistent advertisements. There is an editor toolbox ("What Links Here" and "Special Pages" are very helpful), which is ever present on the left of any page, and the recent changes, forum, and help are in the community box on the left. The main page is in content navigation. I understand the inconveniences of any change to website use, so please let me know if there is anything I can assist with. =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:53, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, thanks again for the help! I'm still getting used to Monobook, but if I get stuck with something, I'll be sure to ask about it. :) Lobera (talk) 17:11, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Anything at at all, no matter how minor, whatever. I actually look forward to showing users how to use Monobook. It was the default until Wikia bolstered their advertising platforms.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:50, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

About Larcei[edit source]

I just got the message saying that the Larcei image I posted to be used for my page was taken down and marked for deletion review. I just wanna get the full reason on why that is and avoid a similar situation in the future. I understand that there are more "legit" images of Larcei, however, I wanted to use that drawing, as being something I drew, I think it'd be a bit more unique. I thought it was ok, as I've done something similar over on Aselia, and it's ok over there.--LolX3D (talk) 18:49, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

Totally understandable, and I'm very sorry if I rattled you. The wikia wants to avoid the burden of hosting fan art images whenever possible. We have several official images of Larcei already hosted on this site available for use. I don't know who or what Aselia is, but User:Otherarrow is our admin and our policies can be found at Fire Emblem Wiki:Policies. If you need further help, now or in the future, you have only but to ask and I will be happy to assist if I can. It appears you have some skill with editing, so I want to extend the invitation to contribute with us when you can.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:53, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

Category:Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi characters[edit source]

Official translation puts it as "Binding Blade", can you fix this when you have the chance please? --Thenewguy34(Other) 11:13, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Would you mind taking care of it/getting a chunk of it done? I'm a bit occupied for the moment and pressed for time.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:16, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe tonight or this Sunday. I got school soon, and my is afternoon is busy.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:19, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, not a problem.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:20, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Age Info Advice[edit source]

Hey, you're the one who retyped the Trivia Infos about the age speculation of Aversa and Emmeryn. Do you think the ages should be mentioned in pages about the characters in Fire Emblem Awakening? The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

Aha! Invade Aivass' page, will you? Anyone who did not sign his or her post is a nobody, i.e. YOU nobody! In other words, he can't help you. And as for you, Aivass, did you not hear what Otherarrow said? Adding age info is dumb, and I'm gonna get rid of it, right now!
EDIT: There, all gone.--DevilX90 (talk) 15:08, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
I really think you should cut this out, DevilX90. C'mon. The content was well written and well thought out. It wasn't just "character is most likely x years old". It was based on things in the game. But whatever.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:52, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Aivass[edit source]

Since you really like my Awakening Character Blog, would you like the honor of doing a quick check on it? I already did one myself, but you really seem to like it, so feel free to tell me what nitpicks you have with it.--Thenewguy34(Other) 14:23, April 20, 2013 (UTC)

No nitpicks to speak of; it's well written, informative, humorous, quality user blog content. I am a fan and have nothing but good things to say about it. It's fun to read. Unrelated, but I'm on a bit of a break from this site. I don't know why we can't get a bot to rename categories and fix links and the like. It is all being done manually. Left a thread on Otherarrow's talk page not too long ago. Just now added something to it. Not directed at anyone in particular, just an idea that needs implementing. Things could be so much easier. This stuff is just tedious.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:38, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
A bot? Yeah, I guess we could use one for that type of stuff. How long ago was that?--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:10, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Near the end of March, I believe.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:02, April 24, 2013 (UTC)

Appealing "Ross (Sacred Stones)" deletion[edit source]

Why do you want it deleted? It can be useful in that if someone types that into the search bar, it will redirect to The Sacred Stones' Ross page. It can't hurt because you can't really type Ross (Sacred Stones) without intending to go to the Ross (The Sacred Stones) page. « Zahlzeit 07:16, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

It unnecessarily clogs up the link suggest and search box suggest. You type "Ross" and the options appear. We don't keep redirects for ease of linking. The disambiguation that you wanted to make and that I had to clean up was incorrectly named. We disambiguate by game. The name of the game is "The Sacred Stones", not "Sacred Stones".--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:20, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
I understand, in this case. « Zahlzeit 07:29, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Hello[edit source]

yes « Zahlzeit 10:40, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

And on a side note thanks for Serene's Forest, it is an amazing font of information. « Zahlzeit 10:43, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Please respond to user talk posts on the user talk page on which they were started, like I said before. I do not run though, you must be looking for Aveyn Knight. That is his website. Happy editing! =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:51, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Start Suffixes in Templates?[edit source]

Do we really still need them? Or can we get rid of them? This came to my mind when I read Saleh's coding source.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:06, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Otherarrow gave his opinion recently on a talk page. Can't remember which one offhand. I think he observed that it occurs more often without than with, which is lucky I guess, because that will be less work and I think it should work well. Since the actual full game name links should be in a page's top template already (will clarify if needed), I think it's safe to say it's better to omit the game prefixes for /headers only/, i.e. "Fire Emblem:". That's my two cents.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:33, June 2, 2013 (UTC)
Although some pages don't have or need a main article template, in which case I would favor an italicized full game name link used on those types of pages only. So I guess that's a sort of compromise at worst.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:49, June 2, 2013 (UTC)

Question[edit source]

Can you give me something to do? Sorry if I sound a little lazy, I have just tuned out a bit with the work I have been doing on contributing to Pokemon Online.--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:57, June 16, 2013 (UTC)

lol No need to apologize! =) I am busy with other things, too. I would like to get more WeaponStat templates up on pages that need them. That was just the first thing that came to mind.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:35, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

A Quick Question[edit source]

Hi Aivass Remurias been long hasn`t it? haha I`m back to wikia now anyhow I had a question concerning the old FE characters names. I noticed your edit on the chapter pages I did I`m confused do we use the new names on all articles or the old ones? like on chapter pages that are non Awakening haha I thought the old names were to be used on the old game articles I`ve never played FE13 yet so I`m used to their original names so what should I do?Naglfar94 (talk) 20:21, June 23, 2013 (UTC)Naglfar94

Welcome back! Yep, many legacy names have been given an official English localization thanks to FE13. Their new names are now the article names of the given character/location/group. Even some games got official translations, and I think all the link fixing and stuff is mostly done at this point, so there should be little to no confusion about having old translations/names lying around. The one thing is, I don't believe that the title of FE12 has been given an official English translation as of yet, although we're fairly sure what it is. So that's really the only thing to leave alone. But yeah! New names! =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 10:54, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

Ah thanks buddy so the new names will be used in articles now I`ll remember to do that while editing the other pages many of the chapter pages for FE 1 - 5 need to be done thing is I have not played FE1 before so not much help there on those and I started playing FE2 3 days ago its actually quite good its..well different from the other FE games just like the article up here says haha. Hey btw have you gotten around to playing FE13? I`ve yet to play due to a lack of a 3DS to even play it on I`m rather slow with getting new systems when they come out and by the time I do get them they are already a bit old and another new one is coming.--Naglfar94 (talk) 01:29, June 25, 2013 (UTC)Naglfar94

Need Me To Do Anything?[edit source]

I can't do anything for this forum I got banned on for trolling, so you can ask me to do something (except for shutting down "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", peace between the Koreas, etc. I am not God), and I will do it.--Thenewguy34(Other) 09:47, September 20, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, sorry to hear that. Couldn't have been ours! Anyway, the first thing that comes to mind is making sure that those WeaponStat templates are on pages that need them. I'm pretty sure that task is almost done, could be wrong, but I think it's fairly manageable. Funny you mention this, I actually was planning to set aside some time in the next couple days to work on some backlogged FE13 stuff I wanted to do. I haven't had a good opportunity to do that in quite a while. Hopefully, we will be able to be online at the same time for some of that later. But for now, probably WeaponStat templates. Sound ok?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 04:44, September 21, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry about my not being able to get a chance to work with you this past weekend on here. I had some other things come up unexpectedly that I had to take care of. Hopefully I can get another opportunity to do some more in-depth editing up here soon =). For now, though, I know there are some character pages that still need some stat templates. Click on "What links here" for Template:NeedstatC. Last I checked there were less than 50 left to do.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 01:57, September 25, 2013 (UTC)
I will do what I can.--Thenewguy34(Other) 10:22, September 29, 2013 (UTC)

Tabs[edit source]

Could you take a screenshot of what the page for Tiki looked like before you reverted it? If it's the same as I've seen others post to me, then we'll have to have someone look at it... Xenomic (talk) 22:01, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

What? I didn't revert it...but it is possible to see what the page looked like simply by clicking through the previous edits, shown below the section that shows changes least in Monobook. Also, great stuff with those new stat templates! Thank you! It's a marked improvement! =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:04, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Er...I didn't mean revert, split the template into non-tabs. Oops. ^^;;

The reason I ask is that I've been getting people telling me that things are broken. If it looks like 1 that, then that's wrong, as it's supposed to look like 2 that (if there's no tabs at all in Template:CharstatFE13/start, then that means something isn't working properly...). Xenomic (talk) 22:10, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, ok gotcha, my bad. But is it necessary to have them tabbed from the template itself? Also, different pages would require different sub-levels of tabs based on their respective content. Anyway, they were hidden when done your way. I actually have to go for the time being, but I will try to help you where I can when I come back. Sound good?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:14, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
It's to keep them compressed and easier to compare. Unless people would rather prefer them not to be tabbed? Maybe we should hold a vote on that as well...
It's easy to deal with the tabs as it stands right now (as you can probably tell from the template...maybe), so it's not hard to differentiate the sublevels of tabs at all. This is only for the FE13 stuff right now though so...once this template is fully situated, we'll be working on other templates to get them up to speed as well.
Sounds good. Any help is much appreciated at this point. It might be something to do with the way tabber works now that I think about it... Xenomic (talk) 22:17, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
Now that I see how the tabber actually works, I think it's fantastic. My apologies from before, I think I was using the term "tabs" when "subheadings" would have been more correct. Prior to these new tabbed templates, we did not know that the wikia platform supported such things. This is a great way to display, for example, a character's stats seen in 3 difficulty levels. Thank you so much for both your work in completing our TCG images, but also this new template coding! There is a lot of potential here.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:40, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
It's all good. I figured it was time to do something about how bad some of the pages looked with all of those tables (that and gray tables weren't looking good), so I went with something from the FFWiki after I remembered it could be done (though it's done a bit differently than there of course). This table makes the page a lot more compact and whatnot at the very least. ^^;
Well, most of the TCG anyways. At least, the characters, items, and spells. There's still terrain and surprise cards not uploaded yet as I'm not sure what to name some of them. Too bad we can't upload the Fire Revolution sets here. No Myrrh for me. T-T Xenomic (talk) 22:10, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps we can work together on completing the rest of the TCG images, then. Once I have a bit more time, if you haven't done it already, I may be able to assist with naming or uploading them if you'd like. For now, I have to go.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:14, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
That'd be swell, as I'd like to see the rest of those put up on here. I may have forgotten some items as well so I'll have to probably put up a list of what we don't have from each set later. x_x;; Xenomic (talk) 22:25, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

If I may ask, think you can give your input on which of the bottom 3 tables to use?. Twould help as on SF, the poll is tied. ^^;; Xenomic (talk) 22:11, January 31, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, you caught me at the very end of the time alloted for this sitting...I will help you at my next opportunity. The bottom 3 tables? Could you be more specific?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:16, January 31, 2014 (UTC)
The tables in the Children Max Modifiers section (they're listed as Original, which is what's on their page already, #1, which is with tabs, and #2, which is just one table). The original tables were taken from Nah's page. Trying to make it so that they don't take up nearly as much space as they do. Each table on the Serene Forests forum have 1 vote each (I'm surprised there hasn't been more voting), so I need a tie-breaker. Xenomic (talk) 22:25, January 31, 2014 (UTC)
My apologies, I realize it has been several days. I have my hand in several different projects. I'm looking into your request now.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:44, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
You should be using #2, meaning the under directly below the heading "#2: Needs looked into as to why tables are looking right...". I believe this is the best option. Granted, the computer I'm using currently still has trouble with the tabs, but the other two I use can view them just fine. I really like these upgrades you have put to use! Thanks! =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:48, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, it seems like #2 is going to win the polls as it is, so that'll be what we'll use. We just have to set that onto the pages themselves (it's not actually a template so much as just setting up a table, so can't cheat with coding lol).
I might get around to doing that if nobody else does so, but right now I'm currently adding in the missing DLC scripts for Awakening (might update some of the ones we have too...MIGHT being a strong word here, since some of those are really REALLY huge...I have all of the scripts from another site. Just...they're huge lol. Finishing up Rogues & Redeemers 3 right now.
Oh yes! If there's anything that you catch that needs done and don't feel up to doing it right at the time, add them to this page, if you would. Some things need removed from that page too that's already been done, but there's a loooooot of things on this wiki that needs done, and that page is meant to categorize them at the very least. ^^; Xenomic (talk) 07:57, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
Sounds great! I will do that. On a related note, we do have Fire Emblem Wiki:Task Board that still has some outstanding requests left on it, one of which I am still working on. I just wanted to mention the Task Board in case there are things to look at or some things that are the same as on your personal list.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 08:00, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
Will keep that in mind. I did this same thing over on the Final Fantasy Wikia in a way, mostly for myself but it seemed to help others as well (I also had some pages for images not placed on pages, but this wiki shouldn't have that problem at all...I think). I've already done all the support scripts for FE6/7/8/9, most of the DLC scripts for Awakening (Smash Brethren 1-3, Rogues & Redeemers 1-3, Lost Bloodlines 1-3, and Champions of Yore 1-3. Dunno if I wanna do the other DLCs or not), and got that FE13 Char template done. On top of uploading a crapload of images for the TCG (which still isn't finished as I never got back to that) and a crapton of images (mostly GIFs) to various pages. And all within a month...I know I work on wikis whenever I'm bored but man...@_@;; Xenomic (talk) 08:07, February 6, 2014 (UTC)
Haha yeah I can appreciate that sentiment.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:27, February 7, 2014 (UTC)

Names[edit source]

So I've recently posted a post over on Serenes Forest about this, but thought I'd ask your opinion on this. I know this would require a loooooooot of work (and we'd probably want to actually get a bot to do the work), but this is concerning the names of various games, specifically those that never made it over here in America. Should we go with the original names, or go with the translated English names? We've already done this with Binding Blade and Mystery of the Emblem, but not with FE1, FE7, and FE12. So to keep the wiki consistent, what should we do? Should we rename everything for those two games to their English releases? Or name the English Japan only games to Japanese names again? I vote for the English names myself, but again, that's a lot of things to fix up and change... Xenomic (talk) 22:11, February 15, 2014 (UTC)

As for the naming of the games, from the very start, we go by the name of the game/character/whatever as it was when it was first translated into English in some official form, like a game. In a few cases, the given game first came out in PAL, not in North America, so we go by those names. FE1, FE7, and FE12 have not gotten any official translation yet. Stuff that already has was because of FE13.
I tried to get permission from Otherarrow to get a bot when FE13 came out due to the gigantic amount of name and linked/unlinked fixing that need to take place due to the large amount of legacy stuff that was getting an official translation for the first time. You can see that conversation in his talk page archive. I was disappointed at the result of my request. We already have bots for other things, and I agree we still really need one for changing both linked and unlinked words. Really tired of simple substitution-type edits. They clog up the page history, inflate edit totals, and are usually incomplete when users just fix the links, and not the unlinked words also present on the page.
I wanted to say this before, but decisions regarding this site should probably be made on the site that is being affected, and not on another one like Serenesforest. I'm worried about the precedent that might set. If they want to voice their opinions and start polls and stuff, all they need to do is make an account here. By all means.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 06:05, February 17, 2014 (UTC)
Hmm...I see. It just feels off to have a whole 3 games in the entirety of the series not translated to English (FE7 is the troublesome one, as we can't just NAME it Fire Emblem for obvious reasons...but it's Rekka no Ken over there, but known as Blazing Sword here and...I don't know!). But that's me...I like consistency for the most part so... ^^;;
I was going to install a bot myself, but it requires to actually BE on the person's computer in order to do the botwork, and I just can't do that on my end (not willing to either). The Final Fantasy Wikia uses a bot or two for fixing links, so I don't see why it shouldn't be implemented here myself. It'd save a LOT of time and headaches for all. May have to talk to Otherarrow about that again. I think we even were talking in the FFWiki IRC about potentially getting a bot finally, but neither of us could do it.
I understand that. Both me and Otherarrow decided to go to Serenes since it's really REALLY hard to get feedback on people here for anything (from the topics I saw way back when I first came here that OA was posting about, he got like no input at all. Some including the TCG stuff he was doing, and that's why I was helping in the first place). It's easier to get input from someplace that would probably use it a lot more than a place where there's very little chance, if any, of getting feedback. No offense to anyone here or nothing mind you! Xenomic (talk) 06:16, February 17, 2014 (UTC)

FE12 Base Conversations[edit source]

I don't know how much you know about FE12 at all, but thought I'd ask your opinion on this (I need to ask others about this too later...). How to go about actually setting this up? There are some done already on Serenes (I also typed some up prior to finding out that Serenes actually HAD some...*grumbles*), so I could post them. However, I'm not sure on exactly how to go about doing so. Having them all as a single subpage wouldn't work for the most part (mostly those that are about backstory or chapter overviews), but some would fit as such (akin to Supports, since they basically are Support conversations for the most part). What are your opinions on this matter? Xenomic (talk) 09:17, February 22, 2014 (UTC)

FE12 is the one Fire Emblem I'm the least familiar with. I actually had to do some extra reading to fully understand the unique problem this poses. At this point, I can't think of a good solution to this, but I will continue to think on it and see if there's a suitable way to integrate these scripts.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:57, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
Much obliged. It's tricky since it SOUNDS right to go with say, "Marth/Base Conversations" but at the same time, it'd be easier to go "Marth/Supports" for FE11 stuff as well since there's instances where characters can talk to one another on the battlefield, and it'd be better to put them on subpages like that than on the character page themselves to avoid clogging up their page. Hmm... Xenomic (talk) 23:05, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

Translations Pages??[edit source]

So, here's food for thought (which I will post in the thread on Serenes Forest, as well as to others on the wiki), but perhaps we should have a translation page for each game, similar to how the Final Fantasy wiki does it? Such as... for instance? Or any of the translation pages on that site thereof? I feel it'd be of great help on this site, plus it's something I feel that should be on the site to begin with. It kinda pains me to remove most of the stuff I've been removing on the Character/Weapon/Item pages for games as there's no other good place for them, but after thinking about this today (after doing FE2 and starting FE4 for the character pages), thought it'd be something to think on. Xenomic (talk) 01:02, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

I think it's probably a good idea...I apologize, I've just been so busy with other things as of late, and I'm not contributing the wiki as much as I want to recently, just kind of getting little things here and there. I think you are doing a super job, I really do.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:05, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
Well, I got the pages set up. Just have to get someone to fill them out as I don't have the time really (I can fill out the English names for the ones released over here, but I don't know what to do with the non-English ones). I am quickly running out of things to do though. x_x; Xenomic (talk) 01:04, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
Ok. Well, there's that Project Board page that I showed you a while back if you actually want to do more (if you want). One thing, I noticed on many chapter pages you reformatted the Shop and Armory lists (which doesn't look too bad actually), it's just that you omitted the already existing prices at the same time. Any idea why that is?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:58, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
As for help with the Translation pages you set up, try heading on over to User:King Marth 64. He's always been useful for names and related matters. Plus, many of the exact info you'll/he'll need are right on Remurias (talk) 06:00, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
I kinda never went back and fixed that myself, seeing as the shop prices between FE1/FE3/FE11 and FE3/FE12 are all different from one another. I should probably go back and do that, though that's gonna be an awwwwwful lot of flipping back and forth to make sure things are right. @_@;;
The format for that, btw, was taken from some of the Final Fantasy IX location articles with shops, which I believe I did or discussed with JBed with and he did (because I couldn't get it to work or something). I was thinking of how to make the lists not take up so much space, and recalled that. FFWiki comes in handy sometimes! I was working on making a template for the Translation pages (as you might see in Template:Test), but I can't get it to work properly like it is on the FFWiki. No idea why, so I need to get JBed to look into that (if Otherarrow remembers to talk to him that is).
There's only so much I can do, truth be told lol. I can't really provide strategies for pages seeing as I've only played 3 of the games (and don't remember most of my strategies for them), so that's useless from me. Actually...I can't think of a whole lot that NEEDS done. I mean...there ARE still templates that need done, such as for character stats, items, etc., but that's going to take time to do and get sorted out (you can see my prototype template for Items in Template: Test as well, but I don't know if I'll use that or not...). Most of it is heavy-duty work, and even with all the time that I have on hand, I don't want to use it all on the wiki itself, mind you. x_x;;
Will give him a chat and see if he'll have the time to fill those out. Again, I don't have that kind of time that I want to put into doing something like that (I've already put in a ridiculous amount of time on here as it is in the past 2 months...), so yeah... ^^;; Xenomic (talk) 06:05, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
I completely understand. I only said that stuff because it sounded like you might have been looking for more stuff to do. I realize now I may have read your intent incorrectly. You are doing a fine job and am grateful for whatever you can provide, whenever you have the time to do it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 06:08, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
  • Pokes* But...didn't you say to ask him for help on that?? I thought you did. o.o?? Xenomic (talk) 21:00, March 17, 2014 (UTC)
I did say that and you did ask him. You left a request on his talk page.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:13, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
I know, but then on the talk page you said he might not be the best person to ask so...I got confused. ^^;; Xenomic (talk) 20:37, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
What? When/where exactly did I say that? He'd be the best person to ask.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:39, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Look at the edit history of that talkpage. That was User:Crea756 using a false name/timestamp to impersonate me.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:42, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
Oh wow...I didn't even think of someone doing that. I thought it was odd that I got advice and then heard the opposite later, but I never thought of checking the history. Glad you caught that then. x_x;;; Xenomic (talk) 00:12, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

To-Do List[edit source]

I apologize for bothering you on this little bit, but if you could be so kind, could you leave the link to the To-Do list on my talk page? I can't seem to find the blighter anywhere on the wiki no matter how hard I look. >_>;; Xenomic (talk) 08:08, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

No problem. I will do that now. I want to thank you for your help.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:07, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the link. I couldn't find it on here at all for whatever reason, even though I recall us talking about it before and being linked to it. x_x;; Xenomic (talk) 21:11, April 1, 2014 (UTC)

Error Fix[edit source]

I treys to fix my error not create a new trivia question. I had overlooked final by mistake.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by Raze200 (talk • contribs).

I apologize, but I don't know what you are referring to. Could you please clarify?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:20, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

About Some Vandalism[edit source]

Um... Hello there Aivass Remurias. I just wanted to say to please watch out for this I.P. address as they are vandalizing Gerome's page with Batman stuff. I have already undone the things but I thought it would be best to alert you about this and sorry for bothering you.--Ariura (talk) 22:13, June 20, 2014 (UTC)

No bother at all. Thanks for fixing all the vandalism! I'm not an admin, so I cannot impose bans. The only active admin is User:Otherarrow. From what I can tell, only one IP address was blocked, but there were others involved. Could you ask him to block the offending IPs found in Gerome recent page history?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:32, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

Lo! Long time no talk~[edit source]

So, I decided to just pop in and help out a little bit more. You remember how a few months back, I made the charstat templates for FE4 and 13? Well...I just made one for FE11/12, which is up on the template's page. If you can help with fixing all of the templates on the pages for the characters, that'd be swell. I myself will probably not be dealing with fixing these, I'm only here to make the templates for now. Once all of the characters are fixed for FE11 and 12, please notify me on my talk page so that I can set up the next template for fixing.

In addition to this, I have ALSO gone ahead and MADE all of the other game templates up-to-date, so that they're fancier and more pleasing to look at, as opposed to the drab ones we have right now. You can find them here:

Do give me your feedback on them (note: Due to them being on that page, not all of them will work correctly in the Examples section, but you can see how they'll look initially). Of note, the character page template I don't recall if I ever finished that up or not (I think I did??) for all game pages, and the Item Template, nobody responded about (it's found on the Test Template page, but there's also another version for it on my Sandbox too for...something).--Xenomic (talk) 03:20, August 31, 2014 (UTC)

Ok. Very busy these days, but I got your message. I'm going to write one of my one on your talk page. We've had a long-standing error on the FE9 & FE10 character templates. The skills and usable weapon types need to be switched with each other.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:37, September 9, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing up that template. Didn't realize I fudged it up like that, oops. x_x;; Xenomic (talk) 22:16, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

It wasn't you lol. We've always had that problem.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:45, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, glad to know that I didn't screw up super badly then lol. May need to check that on any future updates on templates I do too. After FE1/3, still got FE2, FE5, and FE9/10 (and then we're done with templates for stats!). Deciding if we shouldn't do something about the Promotion Gains per game, and format those to be more like the templates so they're more pleasing to look at...granted, we could just reuse the templates for those and just do something like "+4 STR" in the STR column or something? Xenomic (talk) 22:59, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah. I'd wait until the other templates are up, personally. One thing at a time...--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:01, October 2, 2014 (UTC)
Aye, that's pretty much what I'm doing right now anyways is that. When one thing gets done, such as the GBA Stats template being fixed on all of the pages, then I throw up the next thing to keep it going. Of course, once all of the stat templates are up, not sure what I'll be doing ha...I don't do much on this wiki as it is (I haven't in months, though people COULD message me anyways, since I'm always checking the wikis anyways if they need me). I might soon be out of a job once again! Xenomic (talk) 23:02, October 2, 2014 (UTC)

Simplifying Coding Source[edit source]

On many of these edits on character to implement the new character stat templates, there are a bunch of unnecessary spaces. I probably sound like I am overreacting on this, but I do not have the time to fix all of these pages all at once. If you could assist me in simplifying these pages so as to keep it simple, that would be a help.

Also, have you considered archiving a lot of these messages on your talk page? It might not be a bad idea to have an archive to keep the talk page from flooding with old messages.--Thenewguy34(Other) 17:23, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

Good eye! Step 1 would be to cut the problem off at the source and tell Codefreak. I have talked to him before, it's too bad because all he has to do is copy and paste from a blank template and they'd all be the same.
I want to make sure we're on the same page on this, though so I want to make sure we have the same idea. Note that the only unnecessary spaces are...I'll use an example
1st Ex. | HP = 20
2nd Ex. [FileIronSword] Iron Sword
In the 1st example, the only unnecessary space is between | and HP. Look on pretty much any top of page template and you'll see this is actually the norm, like the char or chapter infobox as examples of what I mean. In the 2nd example, the space between the image link and the item is unnecessary. That has also been the norm all along.
I have been crazy busy this last month, and I have a backlog of stuff to fix on here, but I will move your request to the top. I will have some more time in the coming 2 weeks and we can work on this together. I'd say drop Codefreak a line and get him to paste it the right way from now on, or even to assist. Also, the source code on the template page itself might need to be amended to make for better copy/pastes. Let me know. And thanks!
As for my future archive of my discussion page, I was meaning to do that in the coming weeks, you are right. Have to check if I have at least 30 or 50 threads or something before I archive. I want to do it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:20, November 17, 2014 (UTC)
Check out my latest edit on Finn to see how things should be. Also, one other reason why it's done like this: |Holy Blood = -
is because if it was |Holy Blood=x you'd have to put - where the x is, which is way more junk than is needed. If you leave a space, then just - works fine.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:31, November 17, 2014 (UTC)
I double checked your edit on Finn, that is fine. --Thenewguy34(Other) 12:05, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Template Bug[edit source]

Huh...that is really, really bizarre. I'm not seeing anything that's too different from either template. I'll check it more in-depth whenever I get the chance, but that's weird... Xenomic (talk) 03:41, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm...I'm not sure what's going on. Might be the server not catching up, as it won't change anythi8ng when I do the preview. But it works whenever I tried in my sandbox idea what's up! Xenomic (talk) 04:40, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Templates[edit source]

By all means, feel free to give me whatever input/feedback you may have. The templates all need a bit of overhauling anyways to make them take up less space and look nicer, like with the character stat templates. I feel like the same can be done with promotion sections too by using the character templates and tabber, but that's another thing for another day. Xenomic (talk) 20:21, January 3, 2015 (UTC)

Can you look an article for me[edit source]

Can you read Dozla? I think the later part of the profile section could be re-written. I am also wondering if we should delete one of the two images in the gallery, as they are basically the exact same thing. However, I would like to run my ideas through another person first. What do you think?--Thenewguy34(Other) 00:15, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. I took a look at the page, and actually, the whole profile section doesn't seem to be too bad. Seems very good, but that's just me. I think it's safe to just keep the "Dozla in battle" image and not the "As an Other Unit" one, although it is colored differently because of that (most noticeable in his pant color). I dunno.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 04:11, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Lloyd[edit source]

You have played Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken several times, correct? I think some of the in-game information on Lloyd on what items he carries in Chapter 23 might be wrong. Can you take a look at it please? --Thenewguy34(Other) 14:58, February 2, 2015 (UTC)

Your question[edit source]

“I thought we have it set up so the swordnav auto-categorized the page in the sword category becuase it was placed as such in the swordnav template page, same deal for the weapon category. Same for all the other weapon navs. What happened?”

Nothing happened, someone just forgot the precedent when they created the page.

Also, it is good to see your presence again.--Thenewguy34 21:18, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

Hey, yeah, I noticed that it was still intact when I edited the Bamboo Pole page. And thanks! It is very good to know you are still around as well. Lots of changes around here. Enjoying FE14?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:22, April 30, 2016 (UTC)
Fire Emblem Fates is the best Fire Emblem released since Path of Radiance. The only two things I do not like are magic being rather low in weapon might and Falcon Knights not being able to wield Swords. --Thenewguy34 21:33, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

What happened?[edit source]

I have no idea what you were doing with those edits. Correct links were edited to disambig link, content was removed without any reason. What happened? -- Khang (talk) 04:56, August 20, 2017 (UTC)

My fault, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I was doing minor fixes to a few links, but I was working off of a user's contributions list, and many of those pages had intermediary edits. For some reason, when I edit something small by going through that channel, it negates all the more recent work done on that particular page. I thought I was editing the most current version of the page, don't know what went wrong. I should have been watching the recent changes page more closely, I'm sorry. I rollbacked everything I did, I think, check to make sure. Again, sorry for the trouble. I'll have to find a different way to fix those links.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 14:50, August 20, 2017 (UTC)
Just finished double-checking, everything is back to normal. Again, sorry for the trouble.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 14:57, August 20, 2017 (UTC)

Fire Emblem Awakening Maps[edit source]

Hi, just a question. A years ago I started a project with your fire emblem awakening maps, but I see that you stopped make them until chapter 9, is it possible to know how did you do them? I will make them and then I will send you to post in the wiki. I don't know if you were the creator of the maps, if you weren't it, could you tell me who was it?-- 12:17, February 27, 2018‎

That seemed so long ago that I can't remember the method I used, but actually, the user King Marth 64 ended up producing better maps and if you look at the image file histories, he uploaded those and we ended up using those on the wiki. Ask him for details, because I don't know.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:02, March 19, 2018 (UTC)
