List page names[edit source]

Hi, personally I totally agree, this has bugged me for quite a long time, but since I'm just inherting the former admins' legacy with no one having trouble with it until now, and the number of pages affected is hugh, I've been hesitant to act. But I do believe these list pages should have their names changed for various benefits. If I've got your help rename those pages and tackle affected changes, I'll be willing to. -- Khang (talk) 00:23, August 3, 2019 (UTC)

This sounds like a job for a bot, but I have no experience with bots and a lot of experience doing bot-work manually. I do, however, have access to a tool that automatically updates articles whenever I rename pages. Is Category:Lists the full list of pages that need renaming? Is the X (Y) structure the one you would like to use, or do you have an alternative? If yes, (Y) or (Fire Emblem: Y)? I'm not familiar enough with Fire Emblem titles to know if dropping Fire Emblem would have any user-access issues (e.g. maybe there's an instance where 'Fire Emblem: Amazing Game' and 'Amazing Game' are two separate games). 👑 Emptylord (talk) 06:19, August 3, 2019 (UTC)
As an aside, I was always personally a fan of subpages, but I think this is a feature Fandom doesn't really like and regularly forgets to support. My preferred structure would probably be Characters/Three Houses, because I would want the link back to the Characters "home page" at the top of every Characters subpage - but when they brought up the naming format peeve during the Project:Navigation discussion (and I asked what they'd prefer), they explicitly said not to use subpages. Tantrum. I imagine subpages have the same UX issues as "List of", though, since SEO probably would only see the subpage name (e.g. lots of articles called 'Three Houses' with no other distinguishing information) and editors would have to constantly rename their links). Ah well. 👑 Emptylord (talk) 06:28, August 3, 2019 (UTC)
X (Fire Emblem: Y) is my preferred choice (I don't wanna get into a lengthy reasoning though), but making a forum post to inform the users of such changes and collect opinions if any seems like a good idea (will make one when I'm available or you can make one and I'll make it an announcement for you, or if you have access to admin tools, you can go ahead then). And yea, Category:Lists contains all. -- Khang (talk) 05:26, August 4, 2019 (UTC)

Sorry for the belated respone. I am able to do that, but experience leads me to believe it might be beneficial for an 'insider' to propose such drastic changes. 👑 Emptylord (talk) 15:55, August 7, 2019 (UTC)
