Related Video ModuleEdit

Hey again, Otherarrow, Blue Rogue here again, hope things have been well for you!

I'm stopping by to ask whether you'd be interested in activating the Related Video Module for your wiki. It would sit on the right rail, underneath the Wiki Activity and Photo modules, and would link to Fire Emblem-related videos in our Wikia Video Library. Activating it is completely optional and up to you. Let me know if you'd like it or not : )

Doug @fandom (profile)•(talk)•(email) 01:49, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, well, I am not really fond of videos on Wikis in general, due to the fact that if the video gets taken down, it becomes useless to us, and all. So I am not really seeing a real use for this feature. Thanks for the offer though.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:13, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Slight IssueEdit

Hey Otherarrow, this is Parivir.

I dunno what happened, but I accidentally messed up Walhart's revealed English name by forgetting to replace the second L in "Valhalt" with an R, and it won't let me go back and fix it. Could you maybe help me out with fixing this one? Thanks.--Parivir 01:26, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe I am just not understanding you, but your second move put it at Walhart. You are fine.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:32, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Nearly Identical classesEdit

I'm almost tempted to merge the classes that differ really only in name, that is: Barbarian/Brigand, Thief Fighter/Rogue, and Valkyrie/Female Paladin

Brigands basically didn't really exist in FE3, the npc class labeled Brigand was really just a renamed fighter using the same graphics, icon, and everything. Barbarians did all the same things brigands did, and their map icons looked very similar to the GBA Brigand sprite. FE4 is the only game where Barbarians and Brigands show up together as two real classes. The one distinction I can see is that Barbarians are treated as more of a threat and are more likely to appear outside of the early chapters.

Valkyries in FE9 and FE10 even wied swords, they fulfill the same role and have never appeared in the game. I think IS changed the name of female paladins to Valkries to avoid confusion.

The translation for FE5 at one point refered to Thief fighters as rogues, they're both promotions of Thief that look and fill the same role as their previous class.

On a side note, I typed this up earlier but due to a submission glitch, I had to retype the whole thing! Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:50, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Valkyrie/Paladin...Eh, I have to say no. Female Paladin in the Jugdral is basically a Paladin who can use staves. Yes, the class has more of a staff focus because of the class it promotes from, but it's still more or less a Paladin. Meanwhile, if I recall, the sword using Valkyrie is a personal class for Mist, and otherwise isn't much like the Jugdral Female Paladin (no lance, different stat layout, if I recall). If I recall, Barbarians and Brigands appear together in at least one game. So no, they are separate classes. As for Thief Fighter and I personally don't care, but someone might get pissy about us making assumptions. And fan translations aren't always right.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:57, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
While Mist is the only playable Valkyrie, there is a NPC sword using Valkyrie in the Battle Reunion chapter of FE9. Curiously, the FE5 version of Valkyrie can't use Lances unlike the FE4 version. The FE9 version is more physically fragile or at least Mist is.
I'm aware, Brigands and Barbarians were both in FE4.
I'll note the similarity on the Thief Fighter page. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:07, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Does the NPC use a recolor of Mist's model? Please say yes. Please say yes. But yeah, even if the Thracia version lacks lances, it does seem to otherwise have the stats, while the FE9 Valkyrie is more fragile. I can kinda get where you are coming from (I wouldn't be surprised if Valkyrie was inspired from the female Paladin) but I do think it's a bit of a stretch to outright merge them, and, again, folks might get on to us for technically not being accurate. If that makes sense?--Otherarrow (talk) 02:11, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
The NPC uses a green version of Valkyrie Mist's MAP model and you can't see her battle model due to her NPC status. Why were you so curious about her modell. Anyway, I get your main point about being people possibly being annoyed if we change around class pages too much. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:18, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, recently I've been amusing myself by looking at how often PoR reuses models. Did you know that Swordmaster!Mia is a recolor and very slight edit of Lucia? That Sage!Ilyana is more or less a recolored Calill?--Otherarrow (talk) 02:22, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
I noticed those promotions right way, I promoted Ilyana before I got Calill and was confused. Replaying it again now I'm noticing some models are actually more different then you'd think: Devdan's lips are visible through his helmet, the boss Kayachey has an old face, Heddwyn has a unique mustache, and my favorite is Gashilama's shirt and bright jewelry in addition to his facial hair. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:28, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Heh. Lazy in some areas, extra detail in others. How amusing.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:35, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah its surprising they'd put extra detail into minor boss characters. A sophisticated Berserker with alot of bling is pretty funny to me. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:59, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Vandal + PPFDEdit

If you would, take a look at User:TechRoblox34‎'s last two contribs. Yeowch. Also, there is something in the Pages Proposed For Deletion (I'll just say PPFD) that will require a bit of coordination, so I thought I'd ask if you could review the deletion requests. It has to do with WeaponStat template demos, but I think you'll get it when you see the deletion reason. I will take responsibility for fixing the template redirects, and the pages that use the templates won't be affected.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 01:44, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Also, there's a double redirect still in cache that I can't solve.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:07, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

And that double redirect would be? Seriously, not psychic here.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:10, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

The only one in the cache -->[1].--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:12, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

The cache that I don't automatically know what is in it. Next time, just specify what you need me to delete. Again, not psychic, and I don't have tabs open to all these special pages up 24/7. Also, there was no WeaponStat demo in the deletion pile. I deleted a TS WeaponStat, so you (or whoever put the notice up) could move whatever there.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:23, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Right. Ok. If I annoyed you, I'm sorry. I didn't know what to ask to delete because it wasn't a traditional case, where the 1st redirect page is usually supposed to go to the 3rd. Otherwise, I would have done just that. I usually go to the Special Pages via the toolbox, though. Thanks for this. We had a good day today. 17 pages created, and getting above 3,600 articles and 8,500 images, plus a new FE console game (on which I agree with your recent postings).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:30, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Just waiting for the WeaponStatTS template ghost to leave deletion limbo. Then I will begin.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:35, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

All done. Ready for deletion review. I will eventually get to other Templates, but it's wise for me to do them one at a time, and close to immediately.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 04:37, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

OK. Ready when you are.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:18, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

Right. When I wrote "immediately", it was about fixing the template redirect links right after the template move and deletion request went through. In retrospect, I may have not been as clear on that as I would have liked. Anyway, I think I will go after WeaponStatFE2 next. Fewer links. I'll set it up now. All those redirect links will be fixed by end of day.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:15, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

I wasn't expecting WeaponStatFE1&3 to be taking this long to leave deletion limbo. I can't move the other template there until the wikia thinks nothing is actually there. Otherwise, I'd hop right on it. That'd be all for today, though. Thanks for the help so far.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:11, January 29, 2013 (UTC)

Serlis (Seliph) mistakeEdit

Sorry about that, I'm taking the name off of Serenesforest and for some reason I kept on thinking it's Serlis for some reason. I forgot that it's now Seliph, I'll make sure to put his name as Seliph as I continue to put the Special Conversations.Nauibotics (talk) 01:05, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry that I snapped at you, but...yeah I was honestly confused and bugged. But it's still my bad. Also, does Serenes actually use Serlis? I though they still used Celice. I think you may be confused because the most recent version of the fan translation uses Serlis...for some reason I don't really understand. (They don't use "Zigludo")--Otherarrow (talk) 01:07, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
EDIT:But yeah, be mindful of what names the Wiki is using. If they get changed when the SpotPass comes out, we can deal with it then.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:08, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

No worries, it really is my fault. I really should have checked his name like I did with Dierdre and Malice. Serenes uses Celice but for some reason I’m stuck with Serlis rather than Seliph before you corrected me. Even the wiki suggested Serlis for Seliph when I was editing. As for the future spotpass or if the DLC comes out before the set names I’ll update the names for them on these pages I mean we've done a good job with the Awakening character name updates for all the pages. I just wanted to get it down now so it'll save time later once I get busy with school.Nauibotics (talk) 01:25, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Awakening & VotingEdit

At the extreme risk of coming across as annoying, which I will take full blame for, this is happening, would be the only day it could be done. The initial nomination was found to be invalid, but we have a very strong showing for the other. Given the nature and timing of FE13's release, would you mind rendering judgement today, if able? I would imagine it would only take 5 minutes. Sorry if I'm out of line here.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 14:55, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Fuck. I thought I delegated this thing to someone else because I am too busy to deal with it? Seriously. Also, I don't want to feature Chrom because that article is no where near finished, and won't be for a while because the game isn't even out. Seriously, featuring it now would be just dumb hype. I can't feature this article in good faith.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:56, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough, I understand. Alright then. Sorry if I upset you in any way.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:10, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Oh you didn't do anything wrong. The guy who was put in charge of this went inactive and I am really lazy.--Otherarrow (talk) 17:32, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Ok. I guess that'll be something to look into for the future, then.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:44, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

IP Switching VandalEdit

This might've gotten lost after all the editing being done today, but the IP who blanked the Soren page came back with a new addresss and the same aim. I reverted it. You already got the old IP. Here is the new one: Remurias (talk) 21:55, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Icon thingEdit

Well it was just a thought. It's not nesseccary, it does make it look a little nicer. Like I said for one of the summaries, it can be reverted if you feel the need to.--Nauibotics (talk) 23:49, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

As I mentioned on your talk page, it may look nice with the classes who only have skills in Awakening, once we start adding icons from previous games, it's just going to be a odd looking mess. If that makes sense. It's a nice thought though.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:51, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Cross Page VandalEdit

IP:, pages: Ike, Flavia, Basilio, Moulder. Sorry to bother you.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:25, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

You aren't bugging me. If anything, it's my fault for not being as on the ball as I should be.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:52, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

To clarify, I said that not because of that, but because, in the past, you have expressed that people coming to you for every little thing can be a bit of a pain, which I understand. I don't want you to think you are not on the ball, because I don't feel the same. Recently, I try and make an effort to only come to you if I can't do something myself first. To cut down on aggravation, that might be a good way to go.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:57, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

I feel coming to me for bannings is A-OK, as (as of this writing) you can't ban vandals, can you? I may respond rudely sometimes, but that has more to do with my mood than anything.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:59, February 3, 2013 (UTC)
Same here, I understand. I like how you do it, since I am similar. I will get mad if the situation warrants it, say so, but I'm usually pretty quick on the apology. Funny thing is, I do get the block link along with the revert link in recent changes sometimes, odd, but I know it doesn't work.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:05, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

I am about to create Stonenav. You know, for the "weapon type" stones. Currently, there are only four, however. That might change in future releases. The Dragonstone is an odd case, because that appeared in other games, with the same name, as an item also. See, only FE13 stones are "true weapons" because they have weapon stats, not item stats and are given a weapon type, complete with a weapon type icon. All stones (except Dragonstone+, Beaststone, and Beaststone+) will remain on the Itemnav, because they were all items in at least one game. On the Itemnav, I will give those their own heading.

I'm letting you know because the template will be on the smaller side, and I think (could be wrong) that I've been around long enough to know how to handle an odd case such as this. I have actually been thinking about how to approach this for awhile, and I believe this is the best way to wikify this.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:10, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, it's in my sandbox. To sum up, the only things that would change now are Dragonstone+, Beaststone, and Beaststone+ being removed from Itemnav (they are not items), and...Stonenav being added/Itemnav removed...from those 3 pages only. Stonenav and Itemnav both would be present on Dragonstone.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:43, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

Go for it.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:49, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

Will do. Thank you for greenlighting this, if I may interpret it in that way.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:58, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

Quick RequestEdit

Could you temporarily unprotect Template:Know? for 5 minutes? There were some links I wanted to fix and text I wanted to link that wasn't before. I'm not adding any new bullet points to it, though. Please monitor what I do, then reprotect it, if you would. Thanks.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:49, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

Go for it.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:55, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, done. Pending your approval, you can re-protect it now.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:59, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

It Seems Moveageddon Is Upon UsEdit

Given the amount of page moves performed late yesterday and today, would you like to put a new list up in the forum topic we were using? I was fixing links that were supposedly fixed (probably were waiting on cache clear), and unless we coordinate some, there could be some substantial gaps.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:13, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

With the game out, there is too much for me to put on the page. With the Deadlords, I more or less admitted that the folks can do whatever, and they should only post on the page if they want to. With an entire game of content, having a list seems less feasible and might scare people away from doing it (I know I would be!). Problems with gaps and oversights is more to do with user laziness than it is anything a list can fix.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:22, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Ok. I guess I will just fix what I can, when I can, and where I find them.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:25, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. Sorry for any trouble. It doesn't help that, me not having the game, I can't make a big list anyway.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:27, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Right, right. It's ok, no trouble. I will try and make a more concerted (albeit more long-term than I first thought) effort to make sure at least a good chunk of what needs fixing gets fixed.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:33, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

I think it would be more appropriate to ask you this and not AivassEdit

For Iron Bow, the data for Rekka no Ken/The Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance is the same, bar the icon. Usually, we merge sections that are identical/nearly identical, but I wanted to ask someone before I merged them. Your thoughts? --Thenewguy34(Other) 13:56, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

If the stats are exactly the same, merge no problems I guess?--Otherarrow (talk) 14:50, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
I agree with that, go ahead. =) It's the same as I've said before regarding that, nothing changed. If the stats are exactly the same, please go ahead. Otherwise, use the appropriate template.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:04, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
I misunderstood. My fault. The icons for the weapon and weapon type aren't the same. Just merge if everything is exactly the same (like with some FE7-8 stuff). I'll go and fix it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 18:01, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Awakening VideosEdit

Do you think we can start deleting some of the old Awakening videos now? Or should we wait a little longer (Or both, delete some and keep some)? You generally do not like videos on the wiki, so I felt I should ask you on this. --Thenewguy34(Other) 00:48, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

If I was the one who made all the decisions, I'd never have them in the first place. Mark them for deletion if you want.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:55, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, I will look at them and see which ones are no longer appropriate for the wiki. --Thenewguy34(Other) 00:58, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Another thingEdit

Can you delete this rude comment on someone's blog please? Thanks. --Thenewguy34(Other) 00:58, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

WeaponStat OversightEdit

If you would, take a look at this. I figured the scope was large enough to notify you.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 14:53, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

I'm intending to put all the correct templates on, and then rename the template afterwards. This will create a template redirect, which can be fixed, but does not disrupt the page view in the meantime. Given that the WeaponStats have not become super widespread yet, this is the way to do it with the least amount of hassle.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:02, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Do as you please. I don't really know much about templates and such.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:09, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Ok. I did fix them. All that's left is to move the template to the correct name and change the template redirect links, then mark the template redirect for deletion. While I would like to rename it myself, I do not have the time to follow through on all the links at the moment. So out of courtesy, and in light of many other moves to track, I will wait until I have the time to contribute more.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:30, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

A Small Thing To Think AboutEdit

Would it be acceptable to make a policy out of not blanking a page when a delete tag is put on? I don't know why that caught on for so long. It makes it harder for the reviewer to determine whether or not the deletion request is legit. Case in point: unnecessary redirects. It makes it a lot easier when one can tell right away what it was redirecting to. Simple example.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:39, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

It is not a policy to do so either. I think that it's basically one guy doing it out of habit. We can always check the page history, but yeah, I think you should just ask whoever is doing it to stop. Sorry I can't be much help, but I don't think this is that big a issue.--Otherarrow (talk) 19:08, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Right, I guess so. It isn't, and honestly I'm not thinking of anyone in particular, either.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:20, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Merging Into Weapon Rank ArticleEdit

On this edit and edit summary, I just had a bit of a yikes moment. The edit summary is fairly telling. Found here -->[2]. I admit that merging is not easy and can (and was) a bit of a pain, especially when one page doesn't have all the right/complete info and vice versa. I'm sorry if I'm coming across in a bad way today, I just wanted to say a little something about it, plus I'm a tad rushed for time at the moment. Sorry about that if applicable.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:14, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

...I don't get what you are saying.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:38, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

Ok.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 10:28, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

Throwing a headsup; cut someone's 'Puerto Rico Marth' as it's pretty blatantly not something that belonged there to say nothing of poor formatting. I'm newish this this particular wiki, but wanted to leave the headsup as to not step on any toes. Cheers! — Aryn Comms 06:04, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

User Page VandalEdit

IP: made a very mean and blatant vandalism edit on Engweimin's user page. I already undid it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 17:10, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

Speculation on GrimaEdit

I relabeled the section mysteries which I think is more fitting then Speculation. There are alot of questions on Grima, so I think it could use a short section on the currently unknown history of the creature. We had similar speculation on the Black Knight and such on the past, so I think it could work.

Also, while most of the pre-degenerated Earth Dragons fought in a war with the Divine Dragons to supress humanity(this was the war Loptous was from), that was to prevent the Dragon race from declining and in rejection of Naga's idea of stepping down for the age of man. This isn't the same as wanting to cause the apocalypse as Grima does. After the war at the time, Naga, the two seemed to have an uneasy peace rather then Naga sealing or wiping them out. As indicated by the friendship between Naga and Young Medeus when dragons started to degenerate, Naga cared about the well being of the sentient Earth Dragons. Emperor Hardin (talk) 06:20, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough on the speculation, but I do think it's implied that Naga and Medeus weren't friends. I believe the implication is that Medeus resented (if not flat out opposed) Naga before the Earth Dragons were sealed and was tasked to guard over the seal anyway because it was his race. If that makes sense. But yeah, on the other end, I do believe that Naga did care for the Earth Dragon's well being despite their hatred for her and her people.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:56, February 27, 2013 (UTC)
Thats a valid intereptation. My belief was that initially Medeus had quite a bit of respect for Naga which was why he obeyed him and agreed to guard the seal. But over time, Medeus grew to hate Naga and regret his decision. On another subject, based off artwork of Medeus reign, that he was a Dark Dragon by the time he formed Doluna. Medeus might've appeared as an Earth Dragon in the first game due to not regaining all of his power yet. Course, this is all speculation on my part. Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:01, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

I Have an IdeaEdit

Since in Fire Emblem: Awakening, there are a massive number of set growth rates, do you think that we should create a page like Vaike/All Growths or Lucina/All Growths, where we would put all of the growths for a particular character? --Thenewguy34(Other) 11:59, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

If you think it's necessary, go ahead.--Otherarrow (talk) 19:59, February 28, 2013 (UTC)

New playable Character categoryEdit

I'm thinking of adding a Category for unlockable characters that are not fully playable in the main game. This way, characters like Riev and Raydrick wouldn't be in the main playable character category. It would be called Bonus Playable Characters or something similar.

To Clarify its use, it would be for characters that not only have to be unlocked, but are only playable in certain modes(Trial maps) or are less complete(like Spotpass units) then the other characters. Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:01, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

I see no problem with it I guess. Now, by Spotpass units, do you mean like Sigurd in Awakening, or like Gangrel in Awakening?--Otherarrow (talk) 01:11, March 2, 2013 (UTC)
Like Sigurd in Awakening. Characters like Gangrel are very complete, have supports, unique heads/palettes, and basically all the stuff other playable characters have. I should've clarified Outrealm characters I suppose. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:42, March 2, 2013 (UTC)
Ah OK. Yeah, I get ya. Go for it.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:35, March 2, 2013 (UTC)
I'm calling it Bonus characters, does that sound good? It was either that or extra characters. Right, now I'm only doing characters that are only playable in bonus modes, rather then characters who are bonus content only in some games such as Hector and Hardin. Emperor Hardin (talk) 22:14, March 3, 2013 (UTC)
That sounds good to me.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:19, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

I having trouble with this user called DevilX90 that he keeps reverting my edits on the List of chapters in Fire Emblem: Awakening, that I have no clue what he was doing, I was trying to remove those redirects that I just saw someone change the name and that links wasn't even changed in that page, so I was trying to keep those redirects out of the way, but I am not sure why he's saying I'm ruining the page for what purpose?-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 02:32, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Don't listen to King Marth 64. He's only trying to make those links inaccessible. Of course he's ruining it. So, tell him that those links must stay as it is (in other words, accessible in blue, not inaccessible in red), please. It's the only way.--DevilX90 (talk) 18:43, March 7, 2013 (UTC)

You are linking to redirects, or what will be redirects once pages are moved. It's regular to change links on a page for pages that you plan on moving but haven't yet. It saves time and prevents clogging up the recent changes from edits to the same page. Quite frankly buddy, you and your sour attitude is stretching my patience. Chill. King Marth has been around for a while and knows what he is doing. If you keep disrupting the wiki, I will have to take action.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:59, March 8, 2013 (UTC)
And this whole thing happened because King Marth wrote "and" in place of "&" and both of you refused to actually check the damn pages. What is wrong with you?--Otherarrow (talk) 03:04, March 8, 2013 (UTC)
He started it, and by "he", I mean King Marth 64. As for the "&" part, I would have done that sooner if it wasn't for "him" making those links inaccessible. --DevilX90 (talk) 19:12, March 8, 2013 (UTC)
That is not how it works kid. Linking to redirects doesn't "make the links accessible" It links them to redirects, which is wrong. You can change the and to the & even if it is red beforehand. Which is what I did. And, for another thing, don't try to claim that King Marth "started it". He made a mistake, which people do, but you were the one who linked to the redirect and generally threw a fit about it. I'd say both of you are partly at fault here, but I do think you are coming off worse here, if only because of your attitude. Seriously, chill.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:20, March 8, 2013 (UTC)
Well, congratulations, you have officially ruined the Miriel page, by stating that there is no such thing as "Perma-death" in Fire Emblem: Awakening, even though I'm telling you that there IS such a thing! Can't you see that characters die forever in Classic Mode, like in every single Fire Emblem game?! And yet, you state that "Mothers and other plot-important characters" AREN'T dead forever. Why would you ruin that page and lock it forever? I trusted you, and THIS is the thanks I get? --DevilX90 (talk) 18:35, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
The game treats them as dead, as in, you can never use them again, but the story doesn't. Mothers and plot important characters have to be alive for plot scenes that involve them or scenes with the children (if the mother was married before she was "killed"). This isn't even the first game that does this kind of thing, hell I recall characters retreating instead of dying as early as FE7. But I've already explained this to you, and you continued to revert anyway. If you trusted me, then you would have backed off after I explained it to you the first time. Locking the page was the only way to get you to stop, because you weren't listening at all. Seriously kid, calm the hell down and take a chill pill. Your bad behavior isn't going to get you any favours. I will unlock the page once it becomes clear that you aren't going to revert it again.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:56, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, what do you know about me "backing off"? Seriously, characters "retreating" instead of dying as early as FE7"? Did you even see an ending for any character who died, not retreated? Take Rebecca, for example: the moment after she was killed in action, or in this case, you let her die, the ending of that game says "Rebecca - A Wildflower: Died"! See? Proof enough that the characters can really die, not retreat, DIE! That's how the games are, there IS no "FE game that never even have Perma-death"! So please, do NOT even think that there is no such thing as "Perma-death"! --DevilX90 (talk) 19:18, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
Kid. What part of "calm the hell down" don't you get? Your repeated bad behavior is trying my patience. Rebecca dies in her defeat quote, so you just picked a character at random with no clue to what you are actually talking about (a recurring trend I am noticing). Try Barte, or Marcus, or Karla. They don't die. They leave. Let me put it through to your thick skull: Permadeath is a gameplay function, not a story function. If the plot requires a character to live, and the character isn't a lord, they will have that character live if you let them die. Mothers in Awakening have to live to give birth to the children if they were married. Plot important characters like Lucina, Say'ri, Flavia, Basilio, etc have to live because they are important to the story. So they retreat instead of die. That's how it works. They are still treated as dead as far as gameplay is concerned, you can never use them again. Yes, the games 9 times out of ten will have characters die when they are killed, but they don't always. If you can't understand this, then don't even go near death/defeat quotes. It is clearly a concept too advance for you to understand.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:29, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
I can edit whatever page I want, and I DO so understand, about characters dying. Oh, and if I DO get near the death quotes? What are you gonna do, lock all the Awakening Character pages? Ban me for life? Huh?--DevilX90 (talk) 19:46, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
If you do indeed understand, do you promise to stop messing with the defeat quotes? Other users are going to be pretty sore once they learn the Miriel page is locked because you refuse to acknowledge something so simple. For the sake of reference, have you played Awakening yet? On the topic of banning, don't push your luck. You are already on thin ice as it is due to your repeated unnecessary rudeness and at least one instance of removing content. Let's just say you are pushing the limits of good faith on my end.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:53, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
(Sigh) Fine, I will stop messing with the defeat quotes, I'll still call those "death quotes" though. I don't need to play Awakening, because I know what's going on in the game. Alright, I'll stop, since you just told me that this is my last warning, and this time, you mean it. --DevilX90 (talk) 20:08, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
Fair enough. I've unlocked Miriel's page. As long as you dial back the rudeness and only revert vandals (don't be rude to them either. There is a common saying on the nets: "Don't feed the trolls"), I am sure you will be fine. I'll be keeping an eye on you.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:13, March 23, 2013 (UTC)

Gawain and GreilEdit

The Black Knight refers to Ike's father as "General Gawain", he does not add Greil or ever refer to him by that name. Even calling Ike, son of Gawain. Based on this, it seems clear that Greil was a new name invented by Gawain to replace his old name when he left Daein. Emperor Hardin (talk) 19:06, March 11, 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough. I never played the Tellius games, so eh.--Otherarrow (talk) 19:12, March 11, 2013 (UTC)
Basically Ike's father has used the names Gawain and Greil but never at the same time as one name. Ike had never heard of Gawain and Black Knight never once refers to Greil as anything but Gawain. Emperor Hardin (talk) 19:17, March 11, 2013 (UTC)

Shin Megami TenseiEdit

Since Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem is official, should we create a brief article on Shin Megami Tensei itself?

(Another thing: I hope you got a good joke for 4/1 this year. I made Gaius' candy sour!)--Thenewguy34(Other) 21:14, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Why would we? SMT itself is out of our scope and there is a perfectly good SMT Wiki to link to.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:04, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

New Category: Unseen charactersEdit

I'm thinking of creating a new category called Unseen Characters or something similar. Basically its for characters that are never encounted by the player, as in they are never seen or talked to in a chapter or cutscene. Essentially characters like Cornelius, Victor, and Orun will go in this category. I'm even thinking of a sub category called Legendary characters, for legendary heroes. Emperor Hardin (talk) 20:36, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

I am not sure if that is nessicary. If you do want to do it, though, just start with "Unseen Characters" or "Background Characters" for now.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:20, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
I'll start witih Background characters. I'm not sure Legendary characters should be a sub category of it now, as some, like Brammimond and Morva are ingame characters. Emperor Hardin (talk) 21:42, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
That would be fine for now. If we do add Legendary Characters, it'd be separate I think. Just with some overlap.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:04, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Recent VandalismEdit

That was some very serious and far-reaching vandalism back there! I'm glad it was fixed (not sure if everything is 100% back to normal, but...ugh). The expiry time seems a little too soon (two weeks? How about indefinite?). Anyway to extend that? That was some of the worst vandalism I've yet seen. I respect that you need to be able to get away when you can (I sure do). I dunno. Just worried about that happening again. I'm glad that some other users were there to mitigate the damage. Looks like some IPs jumped in trying to help, although that might have made it harder, not sure.

As always, not trying to come across in a bad way, if that concern applies. It's good to have time off.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:25, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Concerning Cynthia's "pega-pony princess" trivia, where else could that fit? I was under the impression the trivia section was for interesting facts that don't fit anywhere else. 05:40, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

I think it would fit in the section of her profile with the other character and personality bits.--Otherarrow (talk) 05:54, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Based on this comparison, could you say that Warren's FE12 portrait was based off of Darros'? They look awfully similar in terms of basic creation; same pose, similar build, etc.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:18, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Otherarrow, some troll named just keeps messing with other pages with all of this "Meg" crap. Would you kindly ban him for the sake of this wiki? Thanks.--DevilX90 (talk) 06:45, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Another user from higher up came in and blocked them while I was sleeping. Thanks for cleaning up after them though. Sorry about that.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:28, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Fire Emblem UK EventEdit

Hey there!

In case this applies to you, I wanted to draw your attention to an upcoming UK Fire Emblem event.

Best, Jorge @fandom(profile)•(talk) 21:04, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, sadly, I don't live in the UK so I can't help you there. Thanks for the offer though.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:06, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Clean up the Votes for Featured ArticlesEdit

Can you might possible to archive the votes (and plus, I can't even see that Jaffar was already won in the features pages, but Aivass claims that he said he was already won, but I can't seem to find him where he won in one of the sets.) But can you might just archive it the 27th set? I'm going to do a new nomination right now.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 22:59, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

What? I don't understand what you are saying. Talk more clearly. As for setting up a new featured article, yeah sure.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:10, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

I can't write well remember? I saw Aivass said that Jaffar was already been featured, but I don't see him in either of the sets that said Jaffar won, but this is what Avaiss said about Jaffar, I don't recall ever seen Jaffar won, sorry I was trying to explain about it and I haven't seen this earlier.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 23:32, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, yeah. I think Jaffar was featured before we got into voting and such.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:36, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
Really? Since, when did he got featured at?-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 23:39, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
As I said, before voting started. Pay attention. I think the first two, Ike and Jaffar, were just sorta chosen by whoever set it up. The first one I did was Merlinus, but voting didn't start until after that.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:50, March 21, 2013 (UTC)

Fixing the Languages Notes for Lon'qu, Cherche, and Panne.Edit

Sorry about this, but are you sure that we might do this since you put them replacing those four languages as European version since the official UK website has the same name, shouldn't we consider to fix so that we don't want to avoid confusions for the English European fans?-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 22:32, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

I think listing out all the languages is sloppy though. Would "Non-English European" be better?--Otherarrow (talk) 22:36, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah sure I think that would be better.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 22:40, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure how the 'junk code' is popping up. I don't know much about coding, so I'm copying and pasting other headers. I'll copy the header you've fixed, and see if that helps.

I noticed the < were bothering you, so I've stopped using them. Hope this helps! I'm also only putting them at the end. I had a great idea about their positioning, but on second thought, it's probably just confusing.

Thanks for your help!--Redemmo (talk) 23:36, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, no. It's probably my fault for just not getting it, but I do think that not confusing readers is key. As for the headers, if you are just copy pasting from elsewhere, that means that it's a problem on another page that we need to fix. Where is the page you were copying from?--Otherarrow (talk) 23:39, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

A Long Time ComingEdit

Several unused bot ideas for this wiki have me scratching my head in bewilderment, as in like "what the hell was I thinking, not bringing this up before!?" We need a Word Changer bot that changes all linked an un-linked iterations of a word on the wiki to the same name (obviously with some exceptions, like where we list old names of things (like the Fire Emblem website pages, Japanese and other language names of things at the beginning of each page, etc.)

In short, a bot is a program that is used to perform menial but repetitive tasks, like searching for and changing character names on all pages (although you probably already knew that). It is frustrating to watch as a user moves a page and then just up and leaves someone else to finish up. We should have good editors contributing in a more in-depth fashion instead of all this hair-tearing out that occurs when a new batch of localized names comes out and the mind-numbing task of having to fixing the links (unfortunately, sometimes people just fix the links, and not un-links). It puts an unneeded strain on the core editors and just everybody, really. Having users manually do it for so long clogged up both the user contribs and the recent changes.

Since you are the only active admin, could you please request a wikia staff member to flag an account that you or they can make as a bot that can do this? Just make a formal request to a wikia staff member and show them this thread so they sort of know what we are trying to make the bot able to do. This would be a pretty standard request to make of them; plenty of other wikias have this kind of bot as a resource. This is an important issue, I think, and I believe this is the solution. I dunno, I kind of miss the days when an edit actually meant a bit more than today. But yeah, we need this. I really think we shouldn't just write this off or put it off until later.

After the naming, I think we should use the bot to rename disambiguation page titles (like Luna (Skill), Astra (Skill), etc). Unless the item in the parentheses is a proper name (a game title, for instance, it should not be capitalized. A bot can expedite the process of correcting this, because it would be way too minor compared to the tedious and time consuming work involved. Perhaps as a reminder note to myself, the page "Lance (weapon)" should be renamed to "Lance (weapon type)", and the page "Skills" should be renamed to Skill (ability). Of course, moving these pages would be done by a user and the link work would be done by the bot.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 13:35, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

On a bit of a wikibreak because of this. Heavily applies to the renaming of categories, too. It is all being done manually. =/--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:31, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I never noticed this, in part because you posted a entirely different topic within the same time frame and the "most recent message" thing directed me to that. Also, what? You come in here whining about a bot and about how we've been doing it wrong the whole time and how we should actually do it this way, but apparantly this isn't important enough to actually post separately from the topic below this, which was posted within ten minutes of this and, seeing as all the things you had to note for me there, probably started writing mere moments after you posted this one. Of course, now it's too late, as most of the things you want a bot for have been resolved manually, or were things I would just sort of smile and go "sorry, but no" to if you had asked about them politely. But instead you just barge on my talk page one day and go "you've been doing it wrong the whole time, it should go like this because I said so" and expect me to not get mad at you. This is a community, not the Aivass Show starring Aivass. Talk to us, not demand.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:38, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry if I came off rude there, but seriously, what were you thinking? Bringing up a major topic as if it was a footnote to something else, yell at us for doing everything wrong, then demand I get a bot despite the fact that I have no damn clue how one would go about doing something like that and then complain and try to guilt trip me over the fact that I didn't see this when you first posted it (which again, is because you posted another topic within ten minutes of posting this one). I feel hurt that you are basically telling me that we've been doing things wrong the whole time, and that we need some automated piece of crap to do it right, and I feel mad that you came in here demanding it of me as if you were the sole decider of such things. So forgive me for my anger and rudeness. I just...need to vent.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:11, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Now that I've calmed down a bit, I will just say, sorry again for my rudeness, and if you feel you have to take a break, by all means take one. You've deserved it Aivass. You are a good editor. You've done a lot to keep this place running.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:12, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Yelling, demanding, whining, barging, complaining, guilt-tripping and "you've been doing it wrong the whole time, it should go like this because I said so", the Aivass show?...=(...yikes, you're saying I did all that? I didn't think so. That's quite the statement.
Trying to help, gave a good explanation why and how to go about it. Really just a request by admin to wikia, and what to request included in my post. I post here because I can't do these things myself, and I try to find, sort, summarize and present in a complete and organized way. That meant making separate topics for, well, separate topics. You are the sole decider of such things, so when I have an idea I try to make it easy for you to see the what, why and how. The wikia doesn't work quite right in notifying changes to talk pages, both links show different things, so yeah, I understand that. Over the years I found out how to make sure I saw what changes were, on my talkpage for example. It's not a piece of crap, though, it will make things a lot easier, and there are still things it would help with. It's a basic request and a common practice.
I know it's hard to judge intent of things posted and the tone someone writes in, but by now I think it's fairly safe to assume I act in good faith. Looks like it's calmed down a bit now, sorry for any offense taken. I carefully reviewed both things I signed off on on this thread, didn't see anything that looked like a harsh or angry tone, but if you're cool, I'm cool. I guess I should use more emoticons in the future. Bottom line is I feel really bad that what I said made you feel this way. I'm very sorry.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:20, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
The whole "I am going on Wikibreak because we don't have a bot and I had to do that stuff by hand" did seem like whining and guilt tripping to me. And since you never brought up problems with, say (Skill), or Lance (weapon) until you were begging me for a bot does seem like you just decided one day "we need a bot, so I will declare that this is wrong because it is, so it should be changed with a bot". In other words, to me, it seemed like you made up problems to support your goal of getting a bot, not suggesting a bot to fix existing problems. (the localized name thing and users being lazy about that is a legit grip though, but one you didn't really put as much empathize on IMO) I don't think you realized just how hostile and demanding you actually were with your initial post. Of course, I could just be a jackass who reads everything as negative. Don't mind me.
As for the whole "just request Wikia" thing, what part of "I don't know how" do you not get? It's not like there is a manual they give out for what an admin can and cannot do. When I got admin powers, I was basically told that I can rollback, delete stuff, and move images. That's it. I have no idea where to start on getting a bot! As for the bot itself, laziness is already a rampant problem on the wiki, and I fear that just getting a bot and having it do all the actual work will just increase that. Maybe I am just old fashioned, but dammit, I liked when people were expected to clean up after themselves and had to actually put in work into projects. Not to mention even if we got a bot, I wouldn't know how to do anything with it. But these are just personal problems, and may not factor into anything. Again, sorry.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:50, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Skill and Lance were past things, yes, but FE13 (everything that goes with it how we went about solving it) and categories is the reason why I brought it up. I see what you mean, though. The hostile and demanding part, no, but everything else, yes. I'm sorry.
As for that last paragraph you wrote, I agree with you on this. Explained that way, I see your point.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:56, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
I was probably just overreacting like I always do. If I actually knew how to get and run a bot, I might be a bit more willing (though the laziness thing still sits with me), and having help on the FE13 stuff and categories (since you can't just move a category and all) would be nice. So are we cool? Sorry I was such an asshole.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:12, April 22, 2013 (UTC)
The laziness thing is debatable, I think. I may have been acting on some false assumptions, namely that you were more familiar with how to flag a bot account for Wikia to set up. We already have a couple of bots on this Wikia already, JoeBot and the one that auto-greets a new user are just a couple that come to mind.
Everythings cool at my end, I was pushing my self control for a little while back there, though, lol =P. I'm only saying the following sentence because I think there's some mutual respect here, but: Some of the adjectives and verbs you had me flagged on back there were...pretty damn hurtful, lol! But it's fine, I'm fine now. =) As long as you're cool, I'm all good and ready to continue as I have, no issue. I'd like to add that the wikibreak thing (clearly it's half-hearted after the fact) is not becuase I was making an...idle threat, for lack of a better word. It's more of a lack of self-control with respect to checking up on things. Even when not online, I'm still tinkering with a couple of ideas/projects.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:12, April 24, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, well, I apologize on the hurtful things said on my end. As for lack of self-control, what do you mean exactly? Or is it none of my business? Anywho thanks for all your help and sorry again for my dumb.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:27, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
We're good, we're good. Asking: regarding my first reference to self-control, or the second one?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:08, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
The one relating to possible wikibreaking.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:07, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
Funny thing about that is that I had opted for the "turn off email notifications (overrides all other options) selection in my preferences quite a while ago, but I still get updates lol. The plan was for a temporary break. Since that somehow doesn't work the way it's supposed to, and because there is still work to be done, here I am, never really left lol.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:47, April 26, 2013 (UTC)
Ah OK. Well, if you need to take a break, by all means. It's OK.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:11, April 26, 2013 (UTC)
I'm at-will. Even if I don't log in, I do still check up on most things, though.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:19, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

A Small Maintenance NoteEdit

This shouldn't take too long (maybe 10 minutes), but there are a couple of housekeeping things I can't do myself.

  • Unused videos - We have a Mama Luigi video for some reason...can you axe it?
  • Wanted categories - Could you remove the categories listed from the pages they appear on?
  • Wanted pages - Could you fix the "Amsthrift" (something like that) and "Ignice" links in User blog:Nauibotics/Awakening Class and Skill Guide?
  • Wanted photos - All the ones listed are on pages I can't edit.

For those last three bullet points, a faster and better solution would be to exclude the <user, user blog, user talk, and talk> namespaces from <wanted pages, wanted photos, wanted categories, and list of disambiguation links> indexing. I think the user talk namespace already excludes <list of disambiguation links> indexing, for example. Like, if I link "Astra" on my user page, I don't think the list of disambig links page even cares.

Thanks in advance.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 13:45, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

All of the wanted categories are on blog pages where, due to the way blogs work, I can't get to. I can edit the page, but the categories don't show up, so I can't remove them. You have to bother the original poster. I can't do anything. I've fixed the rest though. EDIT: It seems the system removed the categories automatically when I edited it. Odd.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:47, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

That phenomenon can happen with other things too, I noticed...Whoops. I made a thread just before this one that was overlooked because I was stupid and posted this one before you answered that one. Sorry.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:33, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

Fire Emblem Wikia:Archived Polls...turns out the page is just a redirect of Fire Emblem Wiki:Archived Polls. Can you axe that redirect? In addition, there are a few other things proposed for deletion, some old redirects I found and some old version images that Engweimin is doing a superb job of updating.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 10:31, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

I See What You Said ThereEdit

"I do think there is value in having the whole card. Just a crop isn't needed when we have something else as the main image." Totally on board with you on that. I was actually wondering what you'd do. Was glad to see this is what you thought about it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:56, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Btw, there are troves, troves I tell you, of TCG Scans (and I thought I'd seen them all) out there of all sorts of good things for us that would be very good for featured images, especially in the area of item and location TCG cards, (Tower of Blaggi, Agustria, etc.).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 16:00, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Do we even have a featured image? I wouldn't worry about that crap and just focus on getting said images on the pages where they are actually needed.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:07, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Otherarrow, there's another troll named, and he's messing with Williambasilone's page. Would you kindly ban him? --DevilX90 (talk) 14:44, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

Spring CleaningEdit

Hello, hope you are well. I stumbled upon a pile of talk page and image redirects (which by their very nature are extraneous), and some old unneeded redirects from the project namespace realignment years ago. If you could delete these...there are some more, but I'll start with this. I will add the rest later. You could then cross them off or something.

Thanks in advance. Aveyn Knight just recently made a forum post regarding some misgivings I had with "Loptyr" (glad he did), and there's still the name-change bot subject to maybe check into, but other than that we are good. Have a good one.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:36, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Did you mark these things for deletion, or did you just dump them here? When things are to be deleted, you mark them for deletion.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:45, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Ouch, "dump"? Guilty as charged. It seemed like a rather pointless exercise in this specific situation. But normally I do.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:49, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

A big ass list of unlinked names doesn't help me at all. If anything, it gives me even more work. Stop being lazy. Mark them for deletion. Seriously, what were you thinking?--Otherarrow (talk) 21:53, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

I usually don't link to pages from talk pages. I'd have done it all myself if I was able to. I figured "copypaste" wasn't that much more time consuming than "clickdelete". I am sorry if I came across as lazy...I am inclined to agree with you, though. I'm sorry.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:59, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

I still don't get just what you were thinking. You went out of your way to find all of these things...and then didn't put them up for deletion. Instead, you just wrote down all the names and dumped them here. I am busy with other things at the moment, and I would really appreciate it if you just marked these things for deletion so I can go at them all at once instead of having to look them up in the Search Engine one by one.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:02, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

I just now linked all of them. You or I can then remove the internal link markups after the fact. Sorry for the trouble.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:04, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

And I just now deleted all of them. Sorry that I snapped at you but...yeah, what were you thinking? But it's OK, I have brain farts all the time.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:13, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

No trouble. You were in the right. I will link if I need to make an en masse request. I'm going to go snoop around for some more. Thanks for taking care of those =). Haha don't worry about me, I'll be fine.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:17, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Did you just add another list...after I explicitly told you that next time, you should just mark these things for deletion? You even admitted that you should have done that! Why didn't you do that? I deleted everything except the image redirects, because you didn't link them. Seriously, why did you decide to ignore this whole conversation?--Otherarrow (talk) 22:40, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Wait...what? A list, yes, but this time they were linked. I set them up and you knock them down. That is even easier than me marking them for deletion (mutually, might I add). I did not link the files because if I linked them, they would only go right to the actual image, not the redirect. That is of no help. I said that in the edit summary, though. Ugh, I hope you aren't too perturbed...I'm not. I actually have more, so...but I would like to point out that I look at nearly every user talk page edit on this site to keep current, a trait which I discovered is not something all of the regular users share.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:04, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

What exactly do you mean by that? Anyway, since there are file redirects that you can't just link here, I think it would be easier to just put them up for deletion. This way, I can do everything all at once instead of doing all the stuff except the file redirects, then fiddle with the search engine trying to make it find nonsense filenames.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:06, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

You're totally right about the file redirects. I will do that for those, and from now on. For the rest, what I've been doing is mutually the easiest and most expeditious way of dealing with them. Again, I'm sorry about all this; you are correct on many points here. I blame my own stupidity and the Internet's shortcomings as a communications medium. My bad.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:14, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

List done. I still wish you would just use the delete template though, but whatever, it doesn't matter.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:36, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
I would have done just that if the amount of items were about 5 or less in one run, as they usually are. Actually, you may be on to something because of record-keeping purposes, but yeah, look, I admit I was being stupid in some areas. Lazy, never. Stupid, agreed. I'm sorry. Actually, I had been collecting those on a list for quite some time now. Ugh, well tomorrow's a new day.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:41, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
Well, it's no problem as long as it gets done I guess, and it's partly my fault for being cranky, so don't worry about it.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:43, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
In your defense, though, you probably had every right to be. I'll wear the fault this time; it fits me a little better.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:46, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Moving Category PagesEdit

I'm not able to move/rename category pages. I would have done so for a few of them, but that's why I haven't yet. Fixing the resulting links would be very time consuming for some categories, like images ones, easier for others (like "Category:Seisen no Keifu chapters", only 13 pages). This gets back to that discussion about requesting a bot from Wikia. It's a common practice. Speaking of which, I spent a better part of the morning finishing up the fixing legacy names from pages that other people moved a while ago. I am usually not the one that moves pages, but I really make an effort to finish the cleanup when I do. I would like it if that was a lot more commonplace, but whatever, I think I good a good chunk of them, so things are getting better.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 14:53, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

You don't "move" category pages anyway. They don't exactly work the same way pages do. It would be easier to just replace them and put the "old name" up for deletion. Just moving the category just makes redirects, which is always a no no. As for legacy names, I keep telling people if they move the page, they are responsible for fixing the links, but only a few listen...--Otherarrow (talk) 15:09, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the clarification. This is unrelated, but can you unlock Template:Know? for a few minutes or so? There are some links and names I wanted to update on there.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:13, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. All done. Pending your approval, you can reprotect it now.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 15:19, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Bump?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:35, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, nah. I changed the settings so that anons and new users can't edit it, and figured that was enough. You are the only guy who regularly edits it anyway, so I didn't want to block you from it.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:44, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Your choice. Ok. Either way, I'm done with it, and unless they localize FE6, so is everyone else pretty much.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:49, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

Re: It doesn't need a image. All the visuals for the Dark Knight are reused from elsewhere. Paladin icon, Cavalier battle sprite, etc.Edit

An article without an image just feels weird and boring, why can't it have an image? ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 01:44, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

One, there is no image to show. We don't need an image for the sake of an image. Two, you tried to put an image from the wrong game entirely.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:51, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
But it said it used the same everything from that class of the image I used... ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 01:30, April 9, 2013 (UTC)
The class doesn't appear in New Mystery. Only Old Mystery.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:34, April 9, 2013 (UTC)
The article says that the class uses the sprite of the Cavalier. ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 05:56, April 9, 2013 (UTC)
The Cavalier battle sprite from Old Mystery. You posted the Cavalier map sprite from New Mystery.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:36, April 9, 2013 (UTC)
and we don't have that image here? ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 01:49, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
Not that I know of.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:51, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

Morgan Vandal + StuffEdit

As a sidenote, it'd really be cool if Template:Know? was reprotected. I hear you on your reasoning, but I'm not the only user here, and I'd prefer it if it wasn't used as someone else's There are a few things requested for deletion review. Other than that, things seem to be a-ok. Sorry about Bauker recently, yeah, I agree with your revision.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 10:13, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

It's protected so that new editors and anons can't edit it. I doubt someone who has been active long enough to get through the protect is going to fuck it up. But if you are going to keep whining about it...--Otherarrow (talk) 14:43, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Ugh, sorry to be a whiner back there. And yes, that's what I thought too. But, you know, I was surprised to learn otherwise...--Aivass Remurias (talk) 18:29, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

I see that King Marth went about trying to add useless facts to it. I see what you mean. Sorry to trouble you.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:42, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Not at all. We're good.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 18:43, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Two more vandals.

I hope these aren't repeat offenders from around a year or so ago. I didn't check that, but I did undo what they did.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:52, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

They aren't. If they were blocked before, it would have shown up on the block log.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:01, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for WelcomeEdit

Thanks for the welcome message! :) I look forrard to assisting a great resource as much as I can. Kaygee12 (talk) 03:24, April 5, 2013 (UTC) Kaygee12

Otherarrow, regarding the recent edit made by this user to Southtown and Talk:Southtown, I'm quite confused as to why this is a useful or even wanted contribution. What is going on with this?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 10:50, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
What was wrong with the edits? I don't see how adding more detail can be a bad thing. I was just trying to help. Eventually, I will do this for EVERY map of FE13, thus the wiki will be more complete and consistent. If you could give me a bit of insight on the style or format of my edits that would be greatly appreciated. I really enjoy the grid-style maps of FE games and would love to flesh out the bare, bare articles you currently have on them. --Kaygee12 (talk) 15:31, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
I think that with the maps themselves, a complete readout of the map layout is unnecessary. However, stuff like number of enemies and number of deployable units is fine.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:05, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
You are doing fine, Kaygee12. Nothing wrong. For the typical Fire Emblem "Desert" level, or the hidden treasure system used in FE10 and FE13, the idea was that we would have an extra edited image that showed the treasure "area" or "specific spots". Those would be the only real purpose, other than the featured image of the actual chapter map on the article, that would even fall under the topic of what you are expecting to provide. A long list of dimensions and metrics doesn't really transmit the info very well; it's as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. That's the underpinning of what I said here before. That's all. Drop me a line on my talk page if you wish to have further help with things, if you wish.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:59, April 6, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, Ill try to fit what I'm doing better into your format. All I can do at this point is keep trying. I'm very very new to wikis.Kaygee12 (talk) 16:10, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
Don't worry about it. It isn't that hard, you'll do fine.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:16, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
Well, Im just creating a page for the 2nd map "West of Ylisstol" but the FE13 template needs to be edited to show it exists, I'm not sure how to do that but I will look into it. Kaygee12 (talk) 16:48, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
Aditional info here, how to I put the page I just made into the light blue drop down box for Fire Emblem: Awakening? Kaygee12 (talk) 17:07, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
You have to edit the template page itself. It is found at Template:FE13. Don't worry about it, we will take care of it.--Otherarrow (talk) 17:17, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
If you don't mind, I can do it now that I know where it is. Thank you very much. Kaygee12 (talk) 17:20, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
There is a specific order I want locations to be in, though it isn't hard to figure out. Just remember, locations in the same country are grouped together, and from there, it's order of appearance.--Otherarrow (talk) 17:21, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
In regards to that, "West of Ylisstol" is reached directly after "Southtown" and also should be directly before "The Northroad." Thank you for all your help! Also, I am unable to edit that template so I must leave it to you haha. Thats not a huge deal as most if not all of the other locations are already made. I will be updating them though. I can't believe I messed up the spelling of my first page, :( lol Kaygee12 (talk) 17:31, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
Don't worry about it. Everyone makes mistakes. Just keep at it.--Otherarrow (talk) 17:46, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for adding onto those chapter pages, Kaygee12! This could be the start of more good things! =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 10:57, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

This File Here...Edit

I do not feel very confident on keeping this File:RDP2CF.png. It seems a bit too subjective to have around, and it also seems to be a bit random that one page has an image, and not another. Should we delete it?--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:18, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

DLC ConverstationsEdit

Hello there! For most of the DLC conversations (minus the ones for the Infinite Regalia, EXPonential Growth, and Golden Gaffe) I wanted to see if it's okay to take these off of the character pages and just put them in a script for the DLC Episodes rather than flood the character pages with these quotes. Your thoughts?--Nauibotics (talk) 03:34, April 10, 2013 (UTC)

Sounds good to me.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:41, April 10, 2013 (UTC)

The current poll is 14 months old. Since Awakening came out, how about we ask this:

  • What asset did you pick for the Avatar?
    • HP
    • Strength
    • etc. etc.

It should only take a quick second to update.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:32, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Nah. I don't think we should be worrying about it. If I were in charge, we wouldn't even have a poll. I keep forgetting it is there.--Otherarrow (talk) 11:49, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Age info adviseEdit

Hey, do you think it's nessasary to put in age info in characters from Fire Emblem Awakening? I'm asking because I seen the age guesses mentioned in the pages of Emmeryn and Aversa (in trivias). The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

I'm afraid he can't help you, because we don't know who you are. Hey, Otherarrow, tell him or her that the age info is unnecessary. And also, can you please do something about changing the name of the Xenologue Chapter, from "Border Between Life and Death" to "Death's Embrace"?-- DevilX90 (talk) 18:25, April 13, 2013 (UTC)
Can't someone just move the page? I wouldn't be surprised if someone already did. Anywho, yeah, age speculation is dumb. Be rid of it.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:52, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
lol.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:59, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
I think I just found out what he's referring about in the chapter page since you locked the page infinity that you might not have noticed it that he mentioned it about the page was completely locked and nobody can't edited it to the page to fix the rest of the names.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 03:55, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
Why was that locked anyway? Oh right, you were being foolish and weren't paying attention to what you were doing at all, which lead you to get into an edit war with a new user who was likewise foolish and not paying attention. You don't have the right to whine about the page being locked since it was your own fault. Anywho, I'll fix it.--Otherarrow (talk) 07:40, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
lol, there they go again, rearranging the deck chairs...--Aivass Remurias (talk) 08:01, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
First off, can you please stop being rude, second, I was just found out right now that this was locked (I haven't checked it earlier) and I didn't wrote the "and" it was someone else and it was a mistake and I was confused from him which he was suppose to corrected, not causing an edit war (that he made me confused what he was doing) and third, I was removing the redirects since I moved Smash Brethren series, not Rogue series (I haven't seen I haven't seen what Rogue series what was using "and" or "&" earlier), I apologies for this, but you are kinda being rude, but I am helping out the wiki.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 07:49, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
He's just assertively professing his frustrations in a direct manner. Candidly, I myself just happen to be in accordance with his position. I've said it before on talk pages aka Talk:Ith and Talk:Avatar, etc. You do tend to get a little trigger-happy and twitchy-eyed when it comes to page moves, KM64. I can forgive you because you can be endearing at times and are an excellent editor of repetitive tasks and the like, and are an upstanding and hard-working citizen of the wikia. We don't always agree, but you are usually quick with the self-adjustment regardless. And you have a way with words. I don't know why DevilX90 is so bellicose, and I won't theorize. Actually, it's kind of quaint, but hasn't gotten too disruptive, so meh. It's all just too entertaining. And the link fixes? Already done, lol.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:58, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
You, Aivass Remurias, two questions: What does "bellicose" even mean? Is that even a word?! -- DevilX90 (talk) 01:18, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
It is. It means he is saying that you like to start fights. Everyone, myself included, needs to just relax. We are all friends here, and there is no need to insult each other, whether passively or directly, made snarky comments at each other, etc. I will start: I am sorry. I overreacted.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:02, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
As a precaution, if I insulted anyone, I am sorry. There are not too many outrageous demands being put forth though, so I don't see this as an even remotely hot issue or discussion. What I write on talk pages is best read in a happy and optimistic tone, even silly. It really is hard to judge intent on the Internet sometimes.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:40, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I think you should fix the FE4 pictures. The most recent ones used are these, as seen in their Awakening Spotpasses. It's probably safe to say that they could be uploaded for the entirety of the characters, but if you'd prefer just to do the ones that were actually spotpasses, feel free. But it's a policy here to use the most recent pictures, am I right? Well, there you go. I just wanted to check with you instead of just doing it myself, since you seem to be the one to check with.--NewMagesUnity (talk) 15:43, April 16, 2013 (UTC)

We actually should be using the TCG art already, but someone swapped it to the Treasure art then the Super Tactics Book art already. You have to ask whoever changed it what is up with that. If I were to speak, though, the TCG art isn't new art. It's reusing old art. That would be like if, for instance, the FE1 SpotPass, for whatever reason, decided to use the old crappy FE1 art. Does that mean the FE1 art suddenly takes presidence over the TCG or remake art? What about Sheeda, her art in the SpotPass is taken from Shadow Dragon, does that mean that we should use her Shadow Dragon art instead of her New Mystery art? I don't think this applies to FE4 art (as we probably should be using at the very least art from Treasure, if not the TCG outright, though Treasure art was featured in the TCG) but it's something to think about.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:12, April 16, 2013 (UTC)

On WyvernsEdit

Xane's implicaiton that Wyverns were once a Dragon tribe in the Graveyard of Fire Dragons isn't there in the remake? I don't know if its an intentional retcon or it was cut for spacing reasons. And I'll look to see if theres any other support in the game where wyverns are mentioned as a Dragon Tribe.

If this really is a retcon, this could explain why Wyverns seem to be so populous as the Dragon Tribes were said to have become sterile around the time they started degenerating. Emperor Hardin (talk) 19:14, April 16, 2013 (UTC)

If it isn't mentioned, it doesn't change a thing. It's still mentioned in Mystery. Also, wait sterile? I don't recall that. Birthrates dropped, but Tiki and the fact that the Manakete race continues all the way until Awakening proves they weren't sterile.--Otherarrow (talk) 19:26, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not saying it changes anything, but its interesting to note.
Depending on the translation, Xane says they couldn't give birth anymore or started becoming sterile. I'm going say this doesn't apply to all manaketes but merely the majority have sterility problems So an average manakete is likely to be sterile. Emperor Hardin (talk) 19:52, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
It is likely that the ones who aren't sterile...continued to breed, and if the new ones weren't sterile, etc etc. I wouldn't worry about it.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:16, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
Do you think this could be why Manaketes have become so rare in Ylisse? Emperor Hardin (talk) 20:24, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
Who knows? I wouldn't be surprised if they were just in hiding somewhere though.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:29, April 16, 2013 (UTC)

Don't take this as whining, but I'm looking through the user's contributions, and there was a good amount of vandalism revision on his part, but at the same time, there is way too much removal of good content and things he just tossed out because he either didn't understand what it did, or just because. I can't even fix all of it because there are intermediate edits. And he's being very rude during all of this, I mean there's every thing from racist to gay to things I don't want to repeat. Just look at the edit summaries. And didn't stop even after we all talked it over. I did not go to him because I know that would've gotten ugly. So I'm asking for some assistance. Please.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:15, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Fixed what I could. Should be fine. All that's left is to get him to stop, really.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:27, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, you aren't whining here. You don't whine most of the time. It was just that one thing (hell, it wasn't even that one thing, it was your later addition to it about the Wikibreak that came off as whiny to me. The rest was a bit demanding, IMO, but not whiny). As for DevilX90, the removal of content doesn't seem like he is actively doing it to be disruptive, but because he doesn't know better. I do wonder why he continues to patrol the pages for a game that, by his own admission, he hasn't played and has no knowledge of. (Hell, even I am more knowledgeable of Awakening details). As for fixing it and his rudeness, I don't know what to do. He is extremely stubborn, and in previous conversations refused to budge until I had to take adminitrative action (either by locking the page or threatening to ban him). I don't know how do deal with someone like that! Should I just ban him for a few days and see if it will make him chill out? (this isn't a hypothetical question btw. I want your opinion)--Otherarrow (talk) 23:30, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
I agree, I don't think the removal of stuff was meant to be disruptive. I thought just talking to him would be fine.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:58, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
What?! Oh, come on! I wasn't even trying to be rude this time. In fact, the only rude one I see is you, Aivass. You called me gay and racist, that's not very nice, not very nice at all! --DevilX90 (talk) 16:39, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, you were the one who used "gay" as in insult when reverting vandals. I haven't seen any racist comments, but I wouldn't be surprised. What is wrong with being gay exactly? Anyway, while you have let up a little bit, I still see you being rude to other users and baiting the trolls, both of which are no-nos.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:49, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
I never called him any of those things. Read what I said, DevilX90. I was referring to your edit summaries. Racist was on Shinon. I don't think you're removing things to be disruptive, but the things you're saying when you're doing it are bothering me and others.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:53, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I thought you ment that he made a racist remark. My bad. But...yeah, don't insult people, don't remove content unless you know from first hand experience that it's wrong, and generally, don't be a jerk.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:59, April 21, 2013 (UTC)
Too many edit-conflicts happened to me on this page (poor choice of name considering the topics). The racist thing was in an edit summary. I hope everything's fine now. I'm not in favor of banning for the reasons you stated, Otherarrow. More of a "look, please stop being so rude everywhere" type thing.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:14, April 22, 2013 (UTC)
That's perfectly fair. Sorry about that.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:22, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

Talk Page NotificationsEdit

This has been a frustration of mine. It has thrown myself, Aveyn Knight, and you for a loop at one point or another. In Monobook at least, the wikia will give two notification links, "You have new messages" and "See changes" or something like that. It will also do it for cross-wikia announcements, resulting in the appearance of no changes at all (I just click "dimiss this message" on those). But, in a given day's "recent changes", I just click on (# changes) listed beside my my talk page. That way I wouldn't miss anything, and could see if someone replied to an earlier thread as well. That also helps with reducing the amount of threads needed.

I feel this was important to note as far as communication. I was aware of it before, just sharing some info. I think Aveyn Knight may appreciate it, too. Sorry for any trouble.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:24, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

Nah, I try to click changes as well. It's no trouble. Sorry I was such a dick earlier.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:12, April 22, 2013 (UTC)
Totally cool. No problem. =) Tends to happen from time to time, even between people that have worked with each other awhile. I appreciate the feedback, actually, so that was actually good. Tone and intention are so hard to judge from Internet postings, ugh. Emoticons are silly, but I do admit that they help a little bit.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 01:46, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

Quick elaboration about the Nowi images.Edit

I went and dug up where the higher quality one comes from.

Here: (, scroll to the bottom granted, these scans aren't as good, but it is the book that it's from.) RemnantSage on SF has the book and scanned it, but not as high of a quality. If someone else has that book, it may be a good idea to get some good scans, as those don't have the border like Knights of Iris.

Not sure which book it is, exactly, though. L95 (talk) 11:18, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

If we don't know what book it is, how can we scan it? Anywho, I'd talk to Laoni (I think that was their name?) who scanned the Knights of Iris book.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:20, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
Looking at a filename of an image from that book (Tiki_and_Bantu_(Memorial_Book_Archanea_Chronicle).jpg) it's the memorial book. 15:56, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
My point was more 'here is where that Nowi pic came from, and that it isn't ingame' and I meant this as a note that if anyone happens to have a better scanner and the book they should. I meant the whole scanning thing as a sub note. My point was neither of the images were ingame screen shots.L95 (talk) 16:44, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
Anon: The Material Book predates Awakening and I don't think has any Awakening related art.
L95: Ah, my mistake. I know the other pages use "Knights of Iris, then in game" so I assumed likewise. Again, my bad.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:31, April 23, 2013 (UTC)
The "book" in question is just a booklet that came with an issue of Nintendo Dream (or another Japanese magazine). To be honest, you probably won't find another person who has the booklet and a scanner and secondly, you probably won't get a significantly better quality image anyway because the booklet is so thin. What you might want to do is just resize the image to 50% and you'll get a slightly better-looking image. Aveyn Knight (talk) 18:46, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

Potential Archetype?Edit

I have two theories towards archetypes, though one of them needs to be taken a bit closer look at before I put in on the table. The archetype I am proposing is:

The Tiki Archetype. Members of the Tiki Archetype are female Manaketes that join the player's ranks usually midway/later on in the game (Nowi is an exception, as she joins relatively early). They tend to look like and behave like children, even though they are usually around/over 1,000 years old.

The following are:

Does this look legitimate?--Thenewguy34(Other) 19:05, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

So basically "every recruitable manakete who isn't Bantu, Nagi, or Nah"? I don't think we should be trying to force Archetypes, or assume a intentional pattern where their probably isn't one. A lot of the old archetypes got really contrived before I cleaned it up, and we should just leave it alone.--Otherarrow (talk) 19:18, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
For what it's worth (probably not a lot, but...<.<), I agree with the proposal. Looks legit to me, just not my call. Oh wells. I can see what Otherarrow means by "contrived" regarding some past archetypes, though. I think it still leaves a bitter taste.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:10, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
Except it is not exactly "every recruitable manakete who is not Bantu, Nagi, or Nah" because all four of the manaketes in this archetype have recurring personalities, traits, etc. It is not like it is "every recruitable Cavalier that does not fit in Cain or Abel" or "every Archer that does not fit in Gordin". I mean, you would not be so supposed to this if we had more playable manaketes of different personalities, because you have more to compare to. But what I am proposing is not some "Frey/Matthis" or "Tomas" archetype.--Thenewguy34(Other) 20:56, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter before I decided to favor the idea. For what it's worth.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:30, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
We shouldn't be fishing for Archetypes. Just leave it alone before it gets into a fanwank mess again. Jesus. Oh, and the only Manaketes that would fit would be Tiki and Fae, though the later is clearly based on the former. Nowi joins early game and is the first of three Manaketes you get, so including her would be a stretch, and Myrrh is nothing like the others character wise aside from "looks like a kid". There. Two people doesn't make an archetype. Now go do something productive.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:40, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
Put that way, I'd have to agree with your reasoning. Damn. Definitely changed my mind; never let it be said that I'm not above doing so lol. I'm glad you continue to maintain a strict archetype criteria, as negligence turns the topic from a worthwhile one to a fancrufty one surprisingly quickly. Nice fishing analogy. Looks like this might be another case of the one that got away...--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:59, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
To clarify, and to avoid hurt feelings or whatever (hurrr...), when Otherarrow says "two people", he didn't mean Thenewguy34 and myself; he was referring to Tiki and Fae.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:03, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I meant Tiki and Fae. Sorry if I wasn't clear there.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:13, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
No, no it's cool. I actually had to read what you posted twice to catch that lol. Just thought I'd mention it. No offense taken whatsoever, you being right about this (just imo) not withstanding.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:16, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
“Nowi joins early game and is the first of three Manaketes you get, so including her would be a stretch...”

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon: Bantu exists, and even Nagi. At least get the facts right in an argument. And I never said I was fishing for an archetype. I noticed a pattern, and wanted to see if it was an applicable archetype. --Thenewguy34(Other) 19:35, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Well, this sounds familiar. I honestly think having pages for archetypes are dumb in the first place, and this one is pretty broad. Why is Nowi on this list if she is an exception? If you allow exceptions, why not Nagi? She joins late game, and is female. Or why noy Bantu? He joins early, and you let Nowi in, and you made exceptions, so him being male isn't a problem. Would Nah be a closer representation of the archetype in Awakeing? she joins relativley late. Is it just join time, or personality? What about optional late joinging manaketes (EX: Nagi and Nah) How does ;Morgan fit into this?L95 (talk) 19:58, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Do Nagi and Bantu look like children to you? Nah does not even behave like a child, and Morgan is not guaranteed to even be a Manakete. And not every member of an archetype follows every little detail. As I said, at least get the facts right in an argument. --Thenewguy34(Other) 20:13, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

In FE1 and Book 1 of FE3, Tiki is the last Manakete of two you get. Nowi is the first of three/four. Why quote me then say I am "getting the facts wrong" when...nothing you've said disproves what I've said. I think you were just being rude for no reason there, instead of just doing something more important with your time.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:20, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Harvest Scramble ConvosEdit

I left this message on another admin's thing but since they're inactive I'll leave it here. I'm currently typing up the special conversations from the new Harvest Scramble DLC and wondering if they could be put to use on the Wiki. I'm doing them at a some what slow rate since it's a lot of typing, also I plan to work on the other Scramble DLCs as they come out. So if you think they can be put in some where just tell me~The preceding unsigned comment was added by NintendoGamerCole (talk • contribs).

I think we do have script pages for the other DLC chapters, so go for it. I'd ask the folks who are working on the other pages for details.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:41, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

Quick Message Regarding File Rename RequestsEdit

There are quite a few images that have rename requests on them. Regardless of whether to act on them or remove them (as I'm not sure having the localized name in the file name really matters), could you take a look? At the same time, it might be a good practice to at least expect the localized name on featured images. Food for thought? Either way, the requests really added onto the Wanted Page cache. Would you make a decision regarding the above when you get the chance? Thanks. Hope you are having a good day today. I myself am pressed for time at the moment, but should have plenty of time to browse around a bit later. =)--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:49, April 29, 2013 (UTC)

If the name is legible and not nonsense, it is fine. As long as you can tell what the image is from the filename and categories, it doesn't need to be moved, even if it uses a "old" or "unofficial" name. Page moves happen all the time, but images don't move with them, after all.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:25, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
Fair enough. I wasn't really favoring one opinion over another in this case. More like a notification like "check this out".--Aivass Remurias (talk) 03:29, April 29, 2013 (UTC)

Bad IPEdit

I didn't realize it until, now but the following IP ( has been up to no good. Take a look at that IP's contributions. Some bad stuff. Thought I'd drop you a line and notify you; I didn't catch it until now. Thoughts?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:34, May 1, 2013 (UTC)

I just now made sure, but I'd thought I should add that most of the vandalism, etc. was reverted or fixed by User:L95 (if not all). So that should make things a bit easier.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:51, May 1, 2013 (UTC)

Divine Dragon translationEdit

According to google translate, Divine Dragon is "God Dragon" and Radiant Dawn's Japanese name is translated as "Goddess of dawn." Due to this, I'm questioning whether the Japanese name for Divine Dragon really is gender specific. Emperor Hardin (talk) 03:33, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

I am not fluient, but I am pretty sure Goddess Dragon would be something like "女神龍". I agree that the title is gender neutral, at the very least. And Godess in 'Godess of Dawn' which is... "女神". So, yeah, japanese name looks gender neutral. Unless the japanese material mentions it in english somewhere?. L95 (talk) 03:44, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

I think it is mentioned in English somewhere. It is listed as "Goddess Dragon" as the official romanized term over at Serenes Forest, and I trust their info.--Otherarrow (talk) 12:52, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
The only time "Divine Dragon" is romanised is in FE11/12's internal game data and for an unused class too. So you could argue about whether its canon or not. Funnily enough, I just checked and the class is actually referred to as "GODDESSDRAGON_F" (as if there could be male Goddess Dragons...!). Aveyn Knight (talk) 13:18, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Clearly, they were thinking about Xane and Gotoh. Heh. But jokes aside, yeah, that's probably at least noteworthy, though if it "counts" is a whole other matter. We don't "count" Alacalibur, for instance.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:33, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I almost forgot about them for a moment. Another thing I forgot to mention: the Divinestone, which is actually used, is labelled as GODDESSSTONE, so that's a slight positive in canon's favour. I'm not here to argue about canon, but I personally like the name "Goddess Dragon"; it's got a nice ring to it. Aveyn Knight (talk) 14:38, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Oh yes, it does, I agree. Canon or no, I do think it is at least noteworthy, but that's because I always think about "man, how would this affect the wiki" when it comes to naming stuff like this. It's my own problem. Thanks for the info btw.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:43, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I totally understand the point about affecting things, especially when you have so many pages to potentially change. Anyway, my last word in this topic before I feel like I'm spamming: some of the internal names aren't really suited for actual reference because they're either bonkers (Arrowspate is labelled Clainclain, which doesn't reflect the katakana or any known word I know, but it is similar to the word Cranequin, which is the katakana swapped around--Quincrane) or don't actually refer to the item (eg. Ettard (in Japanese FE9) is labelled Alondite).
When I choose to use internal names or not, I usually factor in other internal names of a similar nature, like in this case I'd look at the other class names, or which game it's from (some games are more reliable than others, especially more recent ones). However you might not have them as reference.
This is a bit off-topic now, but it's funny how Nagi is Naga in the game code and you also see Nagi's artwork labelled the same way on the official site [3]. Heck, even her profile in the Archanea Memorial Book erroneously has her name as Naga! Aveyn Knight (talk) 15:03, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Wait, so Alondite, which is Ettard in the Japanese labeled Alondite in the gamedata for the Japanese version? I don't know what to make of that. It's possible that the localization using Alondite didn't just come from nothing, but I wonder what the story behind that is? Did they plan to name it Alondite, changed their minds after putting it in the game, and the localizers noticed the outdated internal name and ran with it? Then, when they made RD, they had Ike's personal sword Alondite after the unused name for Ettard...which the localizers noticed and thus named this sword Ettard. But now I am just speculating.
But yeah, I do get what you mean otherwise. Clainclain just sounds like nonsense. As for Nagi...yeah, her internal name being Naga in the game and on the site I can get as sort of a "hint hint" easter egg kinda thing, but it being romanized as such in the Memorial Book, in plain sight and such, does make me wonder if it's just a recurring goof that happens to accidentally spoil the big mystery behind her. I know the Shadow Dragon site itself does romanize it as "Nagi" though, so I doubt it was intended to be blatantly "Naga".
Don't worry about considering your replies to be spamming. I personally don't mind.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:17, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Do you mind if it put "God" Or "Goddess Dragon" for the Japanese name? And mention the romanization in the notes section for Divine Dragons? Emperor Hardin (talk) 18:55, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I'd stick with Goddess. With the Divinestone being the "Goddessstone", yeah.--Otherarrow (talk) 19:50, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I just made an edit on the page, do you think it works? Emperor Hardin (talk) 22:14, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
The Japanese does mean "god dragon" but no romanization or internal name uses that specfic phrasing. Only Goddess Dragon. Noting God Dragon as an "official romanization" is technically lying. Also, there isn't some big controversy over this, most fans don't even notice this kind of thing.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:43, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I didn't say it was the "official romanization", infact Goddess Dragon was put first in the edit. I didn't say controversy, but rather confusion. Emperor Hardin (talk) 01:25, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

Localization of CaedaEdit

Just wondering, despite Sheeda having already been localized as Caeda in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Fire Emblem: Awakening, why is she still called Sheeda on this wiki site? The same goes for Akaneia, which has already been localized as Archanea, and Medon, which has already been localized as Macedon. --Agarfinkel (talk) 17:05, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Shadow Dragon came out first in Europe, where her name is Shiida, Akaneia is Akaneia, Macedonia is Medon, etc etc. As that was the first English version to be released, it is the one we went with. If you want to contest this, I'd bring it up on the forum, as this policy is pretty ingrained at this point. The Akaneia stuff touches nearly everywhere, and moving all the pages would be a lot of work.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:17, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

why deleting my trivia post anytime ?

isn't it a wiki, so anybody can add things ?The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

You do realize that a lot of your "trivia" are assumptions or completely wrong/irrelevant, right? It's not that we are deleting it because we can. If you're going to add stuff, make sure to do proper research before you make wrong additions to pages.—Nauibotics (talk) 21:40, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
Nauibotics is right, unidentified user (I can't call you "nobody" because they told me not to). What you just added was ridiculous. So please, whoever or whatever you are, quit adding false Trivia. Honestly, unidentified user, must you always forget how to sign your post properly, huh?--DevilX90 (talk) 14:46, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Merging Forrest Knight and Awakening Bow KnightEdit

The Bow Knight from Fire Emblem: Awakening seems way too similar to The Sacred Stones Ranger for me to ignore. They can both be promoted to from both the Mercenary and Archer classes, they are mounted, and can use Swords and Bows. In both The Sacred Stones and Awakening, the Mercenary chooses between Hero or this class, and Archer chooses between Sniper or this class. While Bow Knight is indeed a class in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, two games that also localized, they promote into Paladin-type classes, which is not the same as the Forrest Knight. I understand that there have been quite a number of classes that have been mounts wielding both Swords and Bows, such as Horseman and Nomadic Trooper, but they cannot be promoted to from the Mercenary or Archer class. Due to the deeper similarities between the Ranger from The Sacred Stones and the Bow Knight from Awakening. What do you say?--Thenewguy34(Other) 21:47, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Similar classes always have existed across games. However, for us to assume that two similar but distinctly named classes are actually the same thing is just that, an assumption, and if we are to be factual, we must not make such an assumption. As you stated, Bow Knight has been used as more than just "mounted Archer/Merc promotion" as the first tier mounted bow user in the Tellius games, and it is also the third tier bow user in Gaiden. Merging it with Forrest Knight/Ranger simply because "they serve the same role as it in one single game" would be completely disregarding all the other appearances of the class. That would be akin to merging Myrmidon with Hero because Myrms in Gaiden were basically renamed Heroes.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:55, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
No, no, no. I mean to move only the Awakening section to Forrest Knight. I am not suggesting that we move the Tellius and Gaiden stuff, only the Awakening section.--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:23, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
No. That would, again, be an assumption, and if we are to be factual, we must not make such assumptions. Actually, no, assuming that "Awakening Ranger" and "The Sacred Stones Ranger" are the same class would be an outright lie, because they are not the same class. They are similar classes, but similar classes exist throughout the series. Seriously, why would you even consider this?--Otherarrow (talk) 14:20, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Because they seemed too similar to not merge.--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:55, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
That seems kinda silly reasoning. Anyway, yeah, it's not our place to assume.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:05, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Clarification would be appreciatedEdit

Hello! I hope I'm not asking the wrong person, and if I am, I apologize. >__< I recently began contributing to Awakening's game scripts, and noticed some of DevilX90's edits and summaries (in addition to his talk page) expressed discontent with the identities of the "???" characters revealed in the Future Past 1 script. Should these be taken with a grain of salt, or am I misunderstanding what seems to be an open/unmarked spoiler policy? Thank you in advance for your time.—Eku53ru (talk) 02:23, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Reveal them. The DLC is out, and it's pretty clear from even the first chapter who they are. We don't really have a spoiler policy for scripts or the like, and just crediting Morgan as "???" would just confuse readers.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:37, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
Mm, good point. I wasn't too sure on what to do since the game refers to both of them as "???" (blatantly obvious portraits aside). I'll go ahead and switch out the other one. Thanks again —Eku53ru (talk) 05:00, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

I found some sort of goof in the wikiaEdit

I noticed that the Sun Sword image and the Neir holy blood axe image have been switched around somehow. I have absolutely no idea how to fix this situation, so I decided the best solution would be to notify an admin.--Fargo294 (talk) 19:59, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Can you...Edit

I notice that some of the proposed archetype members you removed came back. Can you look at Archetype again please? Mustafa is fought relatively early in the game, and I really think that he does not belong as a Camus, as there are more characters of good faith that are fought than fit the archetype. I guess I could see Panne as a Nyna, due to the whole genocide incident, but I will let you be the judge.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:09, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

I'll deal with it...--Otherarrow (talk) 12:40, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of ImageEdit

« Zahlzeit 00:41, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Done. Never thought I'd be deleting images like this again. We do have a delete template at {{delete}}, but I admit I don't check the category every day.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:48, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Serenes Info. Edit

Okay, I will add the information when I feel like it. Or you can, I'm probably not going to do it now if anytime. « Zahlzeit 01:10, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

If we want to be sure, I'd go ahead and ask him, but I don't think it would be any trouble? Then again, what do I know? Eh, the info will probably need to be added eventually. I'll get around to it if no one else will. (I am way too lazy for this)--Otherarrow (talk) 01:13, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Nevermind forget it, I just noticed BEXP info is on every single chapter page. « Zahlzeit 01:17, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Oh it is? I don't really go near the Tellius related stuff unless it's through just general Recent Change browsing, so I wouldn't know. Sorry for the trouble.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:36, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Did you not play the Tellius games? I'm finishing up RD right now actually. « Zahlzeit 01:38, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
I haven't. I don't have a Gamecube or Wii. (Actually, at the moment, I just have a GBA. A 3DS is planned for the future though)--Otherarrow (talk) 01:41, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
You haven't really missed out on much, IMO the Tellius games suck. Anyway just just my 2 cents. « Zahlzeit 01:52, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Can you unlock editting of the poll archive and poll template? I don't think anyone who doesn't know what they're doing can even access it anyway since they have to edit a template page. I am planning on updating the poll in some kind of interval like the Megami Tensei wikia. « Zahlzeit 02:52, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, sure. I don't mind. I...forgot why they were protected in the first place, to be honest. I know someone asked me to change the poll in the past and I didn't...because I had nothing to ask and didn't want to worry about it, but I honestly had nothing to tell them on why it was locked in the first place. Semaj (the admin who came after me, he isn't around anymore though) did that a long long time ago.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:57, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Can you remove all the photos marked with the delete template? Also all the Chrom ones I haven't linked aside from the very, very last one called Chrom Front Pager 1209. « Zahlzeit 04:11, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Also, can you remove protection on Know? template? It is insanely hard to access and etc. I want to remove some of the more obvious Did You Knows and put in some. After my edit you can remove or add if you see fit. « Zahlzeit 04:14, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

One more thing, can you change the background to one of these tiles and set it to repeating? Make your judgement on whether to change the background or not, but personally I THINK the first tile will look good. Also if they look bad, is it an issue of the size of the small size of the tiles? That's one of the things I was concerned about. « Zahlzeit 05:25, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

I do not like the new look of the main page. I like the featured article more, and the poll seems a little overemphasized. I honestly feel a little rattled by the change, and want a bigger user consensus and compromise for this type of change. --Thenewguy34(Other) 11:17, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Thenewguy: The featured article was never updated and, well, no one really seemed to care about featuring the best article we had. They wanted to either feature their favorite character, capitalize on hype, or have a new article featured for the sole reason to have something new featured. We asked on the main page if anyone minded, and no one responded there.
Zahlzeit:Done with all of that...except the background. I do not know how to update the background, or to set it to repeating. Just tell me the where and how, and I will take care of it. (they didn't give me any sort of "admin's handbook!") EDIT:Also, on the topic of the front page Chrom, there is the problem of...well, it doesn't "fit" into the main page in Monobook, so I had to remove it. When making your alterations, try to see that they work in both skins (I can check for Monobook if you want)--Otherarrow (talk) 12:54, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
I am totally disagreeing on this, I think we should put the featured article template back to the Main Page.-- King Marth 64 (talkother wikisblogs) FE4_Junior_Lord_Sprite.gif Peace_Ness.png 17:58, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Bring it up on the main page. We brought it up on the main page and I said "I don't mind if no one else minds" but you all were silent! Of course, remember, there is no point in having something just to have it. The featured article had no one assigned to handle it (as the person who did handle it vanished right after he agreed to it) and I often forget to update it. And then we get the rather common occurrence of folks voting for an article based on what the article is on, not based on the article's quality. Anyway, yeah. We have a topic on the main page for this. I don't want the discussion here to get derailed with folks whining about the featured article. (which, to note, wasn't even mentioned here before you guys complained about it)--Otherarrow (talk) 18:23, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Well I think I can understand why they want it, a front page devoid of images feels empty which is why I put chrome portrait but yeah I forgot to check for Monobook. Anyway I put it back, I guess I'll update it when I feel like it, really though there is no point to it aside from aesthetics. « Zahlzeit 01:13, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, that will do for now I guess. That leaves the background bit I think? Of course, there are probably more little things that may need some sprucing up.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:16, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

While I understand perfectly that I'm at extreme risk of "whining" here, I find it kind of odd, to put it politely, that such major and visible changes were considered and implemented so quickly without much time for anything resembling due process (removing the featured article? or any robust reasoning behind such changes. Looks like King Marth and Thenewguy were quick to rise to the defense of established constructs of the site, of which I'm extremely grateful for. The poll and poll archive were protected to prevent tampering, and since there is no real need for anyone but an admin to edit them, I was perplexed. Regardless, looks like everything is not all bad now, and things are fine.

I have always said, and will always say that MonoBook is the way to go for editors. Annoying as it is, Oasis is fine (I guess) for casual readers, editors, the non-editing public viewership. Complaining, for lack of a better word (as it sounds harsh to me), about Oasis formatting issues and how things look messed up/are not working 100% when using it to view the site is a little foolish, yeah?

Eh, sorry if needed, I don't want to offend anyone, but some of these events and and changes proposed are a bit troubling. The Bane/Whisper merge discussion set off about 4 alarms in itself lol. But seriously...the slippery slope just became a cliff with that one. =L--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:43, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

For the featured article thing, I apologize, but at the time, like I said, no one said anything! I posted "I don't mind if no one else minds", went to sleep, then woke up the next day with it gone and no one else having commented, so it looked to me like no one else minded! But either way, it was a rash decision and I am sorry. As for Oasis, while it might not be the recommended skin, it is the skin that most readers will see, like it or no, so we do need to take it into consideration. As for the Poll and such...I actually don't remember why they were protected. It was done so long ago and Semaj didn't give any reasoning. Also, as Zahlzeit said, those are template pages. It's not like normal joe vandal would know how to access them.--Otherarrow (talk) 13:39, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
No, no, you're fine. It's just that I thought a 12-hour period for people to discover and respond to such a request seemed quite short. We're cool, looks like things are mostly fine. I do feel that the "Did You Know?" and "Current Poll" /should/ be side to side like we had it, rather than stacked on top of each other. I guess that's the only thing that hasn't been reinstituted yet.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:33, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
I just use Oasis because it's what I was exposed to first and whatever I see on Oasis is what most of the people visiting the wikia will see.
As for having them side by side, I'd like to do that but I didn't like it before because the DYK section was really huge and long and in the middle--this very narrow section just jutting out from everything. Now that the DYK is not protected I'm planning on just making it so it selects less facts at once so it isn't as long.
Additionally to back up my previous point, the Know? template in particular is notoriously hard to get into because you can't type it into the address bar as is. « Zahlzeit 21:20, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
You can type it into the search bar though, but I doubt most people know that. I get your reasoning for the rest though.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:43, May 22, 2013 (UTC)
What's wrong with just 10 DYKs? That's seems to be a good number. And the Know? template was protected because people kept messing with it and adding sub-standard (to put it politely) stuff to it. An admin is really the only one who has any business with it. It has the potential to become controversial as to what is on/not on it, see? And lol I really don't see what you mean when you state that having them side by side is a problem, in both MonoBook and Oasis, for that matter. I'd really like to see it changed back to side by side, personally.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:18, May 23, 2013 (UTC)
I can give more reasoning later, if needed.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:20, May 23, 2013 (UTC)
Haven't forgotten about this; I don't feel that most discussions shouldn't really have an expiration date. I will make my case when I get the opportunity. I don't feel I'm alone in this, for sure.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:56, May 24, 2013 (UTC)

Can you give your opinion...Edit

On deleting this redirect: Talk:Part 4 chapter 2 rd? We have a bit of a disagreement here.--Thenewguy34(Other) 10:26, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

"I'd probably let it stay if the grammar and capitalization was a bit better, but that's just me."
That makes no sense Otherarrow. Think about it, it is a redirect page. I didn't care about grammar because whether you capitalize it or not it will fulfill it's intended purpose: being a shorthand to redirecting to a page which you might not know the name of, but know it's contents. « Zahlzeit 07:18, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
We've established long ago that we don't keep redirects for ease of linking or for lazy typing for searching. We have gone to great lengths to purge any redirects that are misspelled, mis-capitalized, and the like. They aren't needed.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:22, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
Why are they not kept? Why are they not needed? They make the wikia more user friendly, provided the redirects should better be disambiguation pages like Ross or the redirects could mean more than one thing. « Zahlzeit 07:27, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
With Ross, just turn it from a redirect to a disambig page, if you'd like. Making the wikia more user friendly (which it really doesn't) is not a good enough reason to keep every misspelled, mis-capitalized redirect name just for ease of linking. It clogs up the link suggest in the edit space and the search suggest in the search box with stuff that isn't needed. Thenewguy34 will be able to elaborate more on the subject if you would like.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:38, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
"Part 4 chapter 2 rd", is not misspelled. It may be miscapitalized, but it is only a redirect page with the intended function of being a redirect page. So I didn't think people would be so up in arms if it was properly capitalized.
I didn't want to turn Ross into a disambiguation page until I got the example I asked for because I didn't want to have to deal with these inane, implicit rules of this wikia again, but I just found one. « Zahlzeit 07:43, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
No one is up in arms, I'm sorry if it came off that way to you. That was not the intention. The "rule" is not inane though, not by a long shot. Think about it...instead of having redirects for the 12 or so odd ways to capitalize or spell a redirect, just for the heck of it, why don't we just have one? The correctly named, correctly capitalized one? That's why things are the way they are, in short.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:58, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
The reason why I think that redirect, specifically, is useful is not because it is mispelled or an odd way to capitalize it. It is just a way to get to a page directly without knowing what the chapter is called in the first place without doing something roundabout. "Part 4 chapter 2 rd", Part 4 because it is a stage in part 4, chapter 2 because it is the second chapter, and RD the initials of the game. « Zahlzeit 08:02, May 28, 2013 (UTC)
The FE10 navigation template works just fine. For this specific case, I would think that "Distortions" is more memorable than "Part 4 chapter 2 rd". I hear you, though.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 08:22, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

What I have to say on the subject is that I've been saying for a while now that "redirects are free", yet everyone ignores me and puts up "redundant" redirects up for deletion with the reasoning "we have a search engine" and I decided ", whatever. The community has spoken" and just delete them on sight now. I am not sure if that helps. Of course, even back then, I did draw the line at truly redundant stuff like redirects that were just plural class names.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:38, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

JRPG WebringEdit

Hey there. My name is Nic and I'm a member of Wikia's Community Development Team! Are you interested in joining the JRPG Wikia Webring? We created a custom footer that can be embedded on the main page. These webrings help bring cross-traffic across multiple wikis on our site, and can help bring you new viewers and editors!

To embed the template, use this code { {w:JRPGFooter} } - remove spaces between braces. To preview how it looks click here.

Thanks! - Wagnike2 (talk) 11:50, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Nintendo WebringEdit

You may also consider joining the Nintendo Wikis webring which can be previewed here. The code to embed this one is { {w:NintendoWikisFooter} } .

Thanks Again! - Wagnike2 (talk) 12:18, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

I noticed you linked this Wiki to the webrings already. We are currently in the (slow, bit by bit) process of redesigning our main page, so I'd have to ask the other users on this one. Just a personal note though, the JRPGs one does look like it'd clash with our color set up, so I am tempted to avoid that one solely for aesthetic reasons.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:38, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

I wouldn't know, sorry. What do you mean by "upload an image of a death quote" anyway?--Otherarrow (talk) 23:49, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, for a page on death quotes or the like? If it's to use on the Larcei article, it isn't needed, just add the quote directly.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:50, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Template:Awakening Launch PackEdit

Do we still need it if we are not using it anymore?--Thenewguy34(Other) 12:58, June 2, 2013 (UTC)

Eh, I don't see any harm in keeping it. It's not my thing anyway, you should ask the fellow who worked on it.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:06, June 2, 2013 (UTC)
I'm strongly in favor of keeping it.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 20:33, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Regarding DevilX90Edit

Hello, I'm an admin of several wikis, and some DevilX90 has been to. I've given him plenty of chances to try to forgive him, and there were many times that I could have just out-right banned him (which I only banned him because he quite simply requested me to.)

He acts very aggressive on the other wiki's he's frequented, and is hostile to anon's for asking the most harmless of questions. He openly denies any accusations thrown at him, and will twist your arguement against you, and further derail the situation.

If you have to ban him for not listening, feel free, he does not seem to learn his lesson too well.

Here's further proof of my word,, (was an admin here, but just recently got demoted and banned.) -- NinjaRenegade - A fool is one who believes the illusion of aestheticism. 22:33, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

I see. I see. Very well, I was probably going to ban him the next time he did something bad that I noticed anyway. Thank you for the heads up!--Otherarrow (talk) 22:58, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Just my two cents: To be completely fair, I don't think he should be banned on FE Wikia for doing something bad on another wikia, although I did see that on hagure. Athough it may not be exactly pretty, and it got slightly better after a request Otherarrow made to tone it down, he did find and fix a lot of vandalism that got overlooked. If he sees this thread right here, which he should, I think that should let him know about what he might need to adjust. I would wait until after that happens again here for an admin action. But that's just me. It's ultimately not up to me, which I'm grateful for.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:26, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, yes, indeed. I wasn't planning on using this as an excuse to ban him here and now, but I do think he is not really getting the message and sometimes I get the idea that he feels he can act as bad as he wants and not get punished for it as long as he doesn't out and out vandalize. I was planning on punishing him the next time he causes trouble to show that, yes, I mean business. He already has two strikes, so one more and he is out. If any of that makes sense.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:32, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry for the confusion, I did not intend to make this to get him banned, it's just a heads up, in case Otherarrow was considering the option. NinjaRenegade - A fool is one who believes the illusion of aestheticism. 23:46, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, no worries. I knew what you meant and you are fine.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:32, June 5, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, my apologies, then. I misunderstood the original post. I'm sorry. I only said something because I was familiar with this specifc situation.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:24, June 5, 2013 (UTC)

This seemed to be the right page to report vandals (if not, I apologize)-- blanked/defaced some pages before turning around to add content. —Eku53ru (Talk | contribs) 06:03, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

If he has really turned his coat and began making contributions, then let us give him a second chance. I dunno the cause of why he originally vandalized, but I say he should only be blocked if he continues to vandalize. If he stays as a contributor, then we can just use the vandalism as strike one. --Thenewguy34(Other) 10:38, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

Projects PageEdit

I went onto the forum to post an idea, but then I noticed the user's post right before me (GameBoy14, I believe it was). He has an amazing point and I think it seriously needs attention. Sorry for bothering you, especially if this is the wrong place to put this. I decided to leave a message because it looks like the forum is a ghost town. Yogurt Spill (talk) 05:59, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

You didn't tell me what your idea actually was.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:31, June 14, 2013 (UTC)
There was Forum:Wiki Aesthetic Redesign and Forum:Wiki Chat, though you responded to the former. --Thenewguy34(Other) 20:48, June 14, 2013 (UTC)
Ah yes. Well, excuse my blunt response for the one I did respond on, as someone else asked the same thing on the talk page for the Main Page. My response basically "OK. Sure. Just tell me how and I'll do it". And of course, I never got a response. Zahlzeit had a recommendation for a background...but, again, he never got back to me when I asked him how I was expected to use it. Here is the thing, there is no automatic "how to be an admin" guide they give out. When I became an admin, I basically just got a notice saying "you are now an admin and Bcrat. Good luck." I had to basically figure out all of what I could do on my own and years later, there still is stuff I don't know about. So just coming at me with something I've never done before and telling me "you should do this!" but not telling me how I should do that isn't helpful in the slightest. I am sorry if that sounds rude.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:55, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

Hey hows it been?Edit

Hi Otherarrow its been long since I`ve been back just wanted to drop in and say hello haha I left the wikia scene for awhile but I`m back I make videos now and whatnot. While away I was also getting more skills in using wikia! and I became admin of a wiki recently! well gonna go now I just wnated to see how things were I see there are a lot of new editors here too much has changed.Naglfar94 (talk) 01:48, June 18, 2013 (UTC)Naglfar94

Policy ProposalEdit

In the interest of standardization and simplicity, I came across a possible policy proposal I wanted to share. It came up when Engweimin had a great idea for a template that lists the locations of object (items+weapons). The proposal has to do with the way the wikia refers to chapters within a given game. It is similar in spirit to why we when we talk about FE3, it normally means Book 2, and why we refer to FE7 as Rekka no Ken instead of just Fire Emblem. For simplicity's sake, since this site has all FE games, there should be a more standardized why to link to and format chapter links. Making a link to a chapter page, with exceptions of, say, using it in a nav template for a game, should go something like this. I tried to think of how it would work in all odd cases. For example:

  • FE7: Because there is a Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector modes: C26xE or C28xH. Or C15H, even though it's exclusive to Hector's Story, etc.
  • FE10: Instead of Part 2, Chapter 3 and the like, it could be C2-3 or maybe even P2-C3. Raise the Standard, which has two "stages", could be C1-6.1 and C1-6.2 or P1-C6.1 and P1-C6.2

Every other case is pretty much just fine. The abbreviations used on each game's nav templates would be just fine as is, for the most part, as I think that all works well as is. This would be more for referring to chapters in narrative sections of articles, and using the chapter links in the new Template:ObjectLocation. So I wanted to submit this to you and get the discussion started.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:28, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

I am fine with this. I think the changed format you suggested would work and look nice and such.--Otherarrow (talk) 11:47, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Thanks! Again, the way we do it on nav templates currently is mostly fine already. I guess I will start to implement it a little here and there and monitor for problems or inconsistencies. There may be something I haven't thought of yet that messes with it. Anyway, if everything looks good after awhile, would you mind typing an entry onto the policies page? Even it's a month or so from now?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 11:57, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, sure. Just check in with me if everything goes smoothly and I'll see what I can do.--Otherarrow (talk) 12:36, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, sounds good.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 13:04, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

"I need to find someone who actually knows this stuff to update this."Edit

Just use --Thenewguy34(Other) 09:48, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Serenes doesn't automatically update the template on the wiki. It's a website. Also, I don't know when to check Serenes. I don't check there on a daily basis, because I currently have no reason to. Seriously, that was just a rude and unhelpful comment, and you should feel bad for making it.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:24, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Can other members edit the template? If so, I'll do it when I have time. I might not update "on time" though, since I do juggle a lot of stuff. Aveyn Knight (talk) 19:33, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
@Aveyn Knight:I think so? I don't think it's locked or anything. I recall that Aivass and Zahlzeit edited it in the past. If you want to, go ahead I suppose, but don't worry about it if it gets in the way of anything else you have to do.
@Thenewguy: Sorry if I came off as rude or snappy there, but...yeah, I really didn't find your comment very helpful and actually found it a bit rude. So, sorry again.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:06, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

A Question About Class PagesEdit

Hey Otherarrow its me again! I have a question about class pages as I did not want to do it without asking you as I don`t want to get in trouble. I wanted to add how much experience points each class is worth when killing them if you have played or seen Monshou no Nazo/Mystery of the Emblem each class is worth a fixed amount of experience points so I think it would be good to list this on the pages tell me what you think of this when you have time in the mean time I won`t do anything with them intil I get your thoughts on this.--Naglfar94 (talk) 18:38, June 29, 2013 (UTC)Naglfar94

What? I didn't get what you were saying. Explain that again, this time in English.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:42, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Well..umm ok here is what I was trying to explain the enemies in FE3 each class has a fixed experience point value when being killed like for instance thieves will always give out 40 experience on defeat and lets say clerics they give out 10 points. That`s what I meant you have played FE3 right? well seen it in action the experience is fixed.--Naglfar94 (talk) 00:04, June 30, 2013 (UTC)Naglfar94

If you know for sure what the points are, then sure.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:09, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Alright I`ll do so when I get the info I`m gonna have to take another look at the game.--Naglfar94 (talk) 01:42, June 30, 2013 (UTC)Naglfar94

Otherarrow, I'm pretty sure he's talking about Relative Power/Relative Class Power. It is indeed a class stat.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 07:53, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Arcadia and the Bonus characters sectionEdit

I'm pretty sure Arcadia is just made up of Divine Draogns by the time of Binding blade at least, thats what the dialogue seemed to indicate anyway.

Also, the Bonus characters section is now including all Einerjar characters like Ephraim and Ike. Personally, I think its most fitting for characters who are only semi playable as an extra.--Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:56, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

The Divines aren't a whole other race though, and the fact that Roy even brings it up at all shows that the story itself doesn't consider the two tribes inherently different. Dragons are dragons. Indeed, Roy doesn't mention that the dragons in Arcadia are Divines. Also, speculating about Jahn's relationship with the Divines is just that: speculation, which is not needed in the article. As for the bonus characters including the Einerjar...well yes. They were explicitly mentioned from the beginning as people who would be included, if I recall.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:55, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
They're a subspecies though, Jahn deos't seem to count Idenn and Fae(who was present with Roy and listened to Jahn's speech) when he calls himself the last dragon. So they're both the same and not the same, if you get what I mean. I'm not sure thats speculation, as its made clear that the Divine Dragons fled to Arcadia to get away from Jahn's faction of Fire Dragons. Due to this, its highly doubtful that Arcadia would allow Jahn to live there and this isn't counting the War Dragons(under Randy attempting to capture the village.
So would you mind if I made the section just for characters like Fado and Raydrik? It seems to broad as it is now, take a look. Emperor Hardin (talk) 06:09, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
See, it's kind of like Venn diagrams...if we were to do that, what about characters who can be classified as both enemy and playable, just in different ways (ex. Ashnard, Gangrel, Eldigan, etc.) not the greatest examples,'s entirely possible to have, say, Ike, as both a playable character and a bonus character. Remember, we work cross-game, and when characters reappear in other games at varying levels of playability, that should go along with how they're classified. I don't think "Bonus Character" is too broad a category, right? Categories can overlap.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 08:01, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Quote additions by 2bricacityEdit

Hello. Recently this new user, 2bricacit,y has added a bunch of quotes, namely each Awakening female's confession quotes. The thing is though, is that they are the Japanese quotes translated into English. I don't want to do any unnecessary undoing, but do we need these quotes? If not we either have to do a lot of deleting/undoing from the pages or we have to go and find all of the male quotes for their translations. Your thoughts?—Nauibotics (talk) 17:54, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Having yet to play Awakening in either language, I do not know. However, I do feel that with the English version, fan translations of the Japanese quotes are redundant. Remove them. EDIT: Yeah, I checked and the Japanese confessions, more often than not, say the exact same thing, but with different wording. Remove them.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:06, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

I am going on vacation tomorrow for a full week. Just so you know.--Thenewguy34(Other) 11:07, July 6, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm? Not anything in particular that I know of.--Otherarrow (talk) 17:05, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

There has been a relatively large amount of Vandalism by some troll named Allhailshadow22. I've been reverting to previous edits over and over again and he just won't stop. I think you should ban him.--ProtoManOmega (talk) 23:13, July 6, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, that should be all of them. Not very smart, are they? From the looks of things, they all knew each other in real life and thought it would be a hoot to go on a vandal spree...which ended in like five seconds despite there being so many of them. Thanks to everyone who helped out. EDIT: Turns out it was two hours. Geez, it took a while for me to get here. Sorry folks.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:26, July 6, 2013 (UTC)

What just happened...Edit

Just please delete this before you get the wrong idea. I do not even know what clearly just happened. --Thenewguy34(Other) 18:53, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Troll AlertEdit

Yo, Otherarrow, there's a troll on the loose. His name is Lhkohi. He keeps adding stupid pages that involves, and mocks, Ike nonstop. Oh, and other kinds of stupid pages that he just added earlier today. Could you please do something about this? And kindly ban him from this Wikia. Thank you.--DevilX90 (talk) 19:11, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Possible new pages like Gender and Generic unitsEdit

I'm thinking of creating page on Gender which would explain Gendered caps, exclusive classes in each game, and other such things. Generic Units would explain the stats used by Enemy armies, oddities, as well as the times when the player can use generic units for their own. Emperor Hardin (talk) 21:16, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

I think gender is a bit too general, and the stuff you propose for it belongs on things like the class pages, if they are not there already. Generic Units might work though.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:19, July 20, 2013 (UTC)
Keep in mind, we already have pages for "Replacement Character", and "Substitute Character". Although, "Generic Unit" might be just slightly unique enough to warrant it's own page. At this time, I'm unsure either way. However, the gender thing is already addressed on each class page.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:12, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Magvel Manaketes and Fire DragonsEdit

  • Horned head, quadruped body, similar wings and tail
  • Horned head, quadruped body, similar wings and tail
  • Horned head, quadruped, similar wings but a clawed tail

While I'm not going to say Magvel's manaketes are Fire Dragons(I personaly think they're Great Dragons), there is a resemblence in the head and overall bodyshape. Compare the two and there is a clear similarity. Of course you could argue this is because they're both based on traditional Western Dragons unlike the other Dragon types. Emperor Hardin (talk) 22:48, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Both seem like valid observations. I just think they fall outside the realm of canon information. I also think there are only so many conceptualizations to draw from when designing such things. For what it's worth.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 23:01, July 26, 2013 (UTC)
The slideshow you set up only shows how different the three designs are. Horned head, quadruped, bat wings? No shit. Have you ever seen a dragon before? However, aside from that, look at them again. The FE8 Dragon has a different posture, different head design, different wing design, different color... Yeah, this is just not noteworthy and it's a bit of a to say that they look the same outside of the basic dragon design cues. (Also, do note that the FE3/TCG Dragon looks different from both of them. The Fire Dragon got a major design overhaul for the DS games, and using it to argue that the FE8 Dragon looks like a Fire Dragon is foolish because the DS Fire Dragon design didn't exist when the FE8 Dragon design was made)--Otherarrow (talk) 00:27, July 27, 2013 (UTC)
Well I said the similarity could because they're both based directly on the traditional Western Dragon unlike most other FE Dragon tribes. Actually I think the Fire Dragon in the DS Games was based on Myrrh's sprite. Do note that many of the DS classes animations seem to be heavyily based on their GBA counterparts, Horseman has the same attack and critical animation as the FE8 ranger is one of the many examples of this. While there is a Fire Dragon class in the GBA games, its cinematic and odd background body would make it hard to imitate in a DS Game. Thus I think the basic design of the Fire Dragons in the DS games might've been based on Myrrh's animations in Sacred Stones. Do note, their attack and critical animations are about the same as is their basic bodytype(excluding stuff like Myrrh's fins). This doesn't make them literally related, but its interesting to note(for me anyway). Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:30, July 27, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm. It's possible. And yeah, I have noticed stuff like the Horseman/Ranger thing.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:55, July 27, 2013 (UTC)
Interesting. If it's not broke, don't fix it, I guess. Good observations.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 05:09, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. Since you're the most recent admin to edit, I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that I've updated Fire Emblem Wiki's Special:Promote page. This is done so that the wiki appears on, and so that users who view Fire Emblem Wiki through our MyWikia app see images associated with the wiki. You're welcome to change the images if you'd like, as long as the Special:Promote page remains up to date. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea@fandom(talk) 20:07, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

The page isn't supported in my skin. So...yeah, that's a thing. Sorry to be a bother, but could you give me another link, one that automatically puts me into the Oasis skin when I click it? I have no idea how this works, but it's "useskin" or something? Changing my preferences every time I need to so much as check this thing is really inconvenient.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:58, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

There's no way to automatically do it, but you can add ?useskin=wikia to the end of the Special:Promote URL. The URL itself would then be - Brandon Rhea@fandom(talk) 21:21, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, that's all I wanted. Sorry again for my dumb.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:24, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

No problem! - Brandon Rhea@fandom(talk) 21:29, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Vandal StuffEdit

IP:‎ aka User:Camconn4 thought It'd be so lol to do some silly vandalism today. I guess listing the user name is redundant, as blocking the IP would be better, yes? Anyway, just passing this along.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 09:20, August 2, 2013 (UTC)

I think this IP: was vandalizing. He changed the Holland wiki's profile to say "Is Hero. Best Character." I went ahead and removed it, but just passing the information along. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zxprodigyx (talk • contribs).

I got it. Thanks.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:36, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks ! I thought it would have been good to start adding the Max Stats Modifiers for Yarne (the first character in all my games to ever reach all of his max stats). I might do it for Brady with Libra as his father when he reaches his max stats in my game.FSF (talk) 23:02, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Perverted Troll AlertEdit

Hey, Otherarrow! A troll named Volsung96 just posted an inappropriate image of Lucina on her page. Can you please kindly ban him? Oh, and delete that image, if you please. -- DevilX90 (talk) 22:21, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

A user called 1-down_mushroom is also vandalizing stuff. L95 (talk) 12:59, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, so you were the one to contact. I've only fixed the main page (It wasn't locked) and removed the explicit image from the Lucina page but couldn't find who was the admin. Apparently this user was specifically targeting DevilX90 for bad attitude (See his user page) Seud (talk) 14:58, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, sorry. I had to do this thing called "sleep" you see, and wasn't around. Don't worry, I deleted all the junk and harassment and moved the main page back to it's proper place. (I am pretty sure it was locked? What the heck?) Anyway, sorry for the trouble and thank you for the help.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:03, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Main talk page is still weirdEdit

The main page's discussion/talk page seems to be broken from yesterday's vandalism; it's doing this Talk:Fire Emblem Wikia -> Talk:Call of Duty Wiki -> Talk:Fire Emblem Wiki redirect sequence, and probably needs admin-level magic to properly fix it. —Eku53ru [ talk | contribs ] 12:03, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Question about some images in the character info boxesEdit

Do you want older characters with cropped images? (For instance characters that use TCG, though I don't think many characters use TCG for their infobx, cards or manual images) I'm only asking because they aren't cropped and I was wondering if that was because of a policy or someone just never bothered to do it. L95 (talk) 22:50, September 4, 2013 (UTC)

If you can crop them, go ahead, but don't upload over the TCG images. We need those for completions sake. I do think that outside of the folks who got art with the remakes or Awakening, the TCG should be the latest art, and thus the art we should use. Remember to move the Treasure/Super Tactics Book art into the gallery.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:07, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Dumb question, the TCG has multiple pieces/styles of art, which should I use? I'm guessing | this kind? (You do want me to change characters to their TCG art, right? I hope I understand XD) --L95 (talk) 01:22, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah. That kind and not the guest or Treasure art.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:58, September 5, 2013 (UTC)

The Troll is BackEdit

Hey, Otherarrow, EMERGENCY! 1-down mushroom is back, and this time as 2-down mushroom, to destroy this Wiki by trolling. He's been mocking me by calling me names, and I've learned that I must never call names again when I'm reverting the edit, that's a promise. Do you think you can ban him for good? Oh, and he said about the "Dynamic IP Address" that he has. Bah, he can't be serious. So, yeah, please Otherarrow, ban this troll and his IP address out of our lives.

I almost forgot: Disable his account creation, and delete those pages that 2-down mushroom once created. CrimsonWolfen also wanted those pages deleted, btw. -- DevilX90 (talk) 12:33, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

Don't remove comments and stop being so overdramatic. It's only feeding the trolls. "Destroying this wiki by trolling"? Chillax. I actually kinda agree with him that coming here and being overly dramatic about it was the wrong thing to do. You should have just said "The troll is back with a new account" and I'd deal with it.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:55, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
That's exactly what I've been saying. 2-down mushroom IS his new account, or was, now that you dealt with him. Oh, and that troll once said about coming back with his new account AND his new IP Address, and I'm guessing "3-down mushroom", just a hunch. If this is true, and if he does come back, you know what to do. I'm telling you, the Fire Emblem Wikia is in danger, as it is a war zone, and that troll won't stop until he COMPLETELY ruins this Wikia. Just think: We are the "Player Phase" (which is blue), and that troll is the "Enemy Phase" (which is red). We must protect this Wikia at all cost. -- DevilX90 (talk) 14:12, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
Now you are blatantly not reading my comments. See that? With the overdramatic wording and the ALL CAPS and the bad "player phase/enemy phase" comparison and the "we must protect the wiki!!!1" proclamation? Stop doing that. Just say "the vandal is back, block him" Nothing else. Seriously, can you even read?--Otherarrow (talk) 21:17, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
...I see. So you don't care if that troll ruins this Wikia. You're not actually siding with that troll, or ARE you? You think this Wikia is better off ruined? What is wrong with you? Why can't you ever side with me instead of that troll? As you know, this Wikia might be infested with these trolls, and as the administrator, it is YOUR responsibility to ban them. But now, you're throwing that responsibility away. That troll might come back with his new account AND his new IP Address. If I were you, I'd stop slacking off and start doing my job, as the administrator of this Wikia. -- DevilX90 (talk) 14:38, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
*headdesk* Do I have to bold my posts so that you will actually read them? I never said anything with siding with the troll. I am trying to tell you that acting the way you are is only feeding the trolls and encouraging them, so you should stop doing that and just report that a troll is here and revert them, and I will handle it when I arrive. Is that so hard to understand? Jesus... Also, I already reported it to the higher ups and got his dynamic IP blocked. Don't give me that "do your job" crap. I did my job. Sometimes I wonder if you are a troll...--Otherarrow (talk) 21:49, September 7, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, this is pretty much the same issue we were having before DevilX90: don't feed the trolls. I already explained how that works, so I won't do it again. Just revert/undo and report and you'll be fine. This isn't a videogame...we have videogames for that lol. Just chillax and play some FE13 or something. =) Otherarrow knows what he's doing.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 00:15, September 11, 2013 (UTC)

So, the Mauthe Doog and Bael artEdit

Do you want those in the infoboxes or should I leave the ingame class images there?--L95 (talk) 18:35, September 13, 2013 (UTC)

Artwork takes priority over sprites, if I recall.--Otherarrow (talk) 18:37, September 13, 2013 (UTC)

Alrighty, just making sure.--L95 (talk) 18:48, September 13, 2013 (UTC)

Japanese name usage question.Edit

What is the policy to referring to the names of things in japan only? I've noticed some pages use the japanese name when talking about a japan only game and such. (Which poses problems for say, Duma, as everything mentioning him is in japanese aside from a name drop in awakening. So... what to do in that situation, exactly?)

It just seems really confusing to do it that way. Or does it only apply to the weapon templates? Because I see some pages that just use both. (Examples: On the Aum staff page the FE1 weapon template calls it Ohm, but the gallery with a FE1 picture calls it Aum...)

I hope I'm not confusing. A recent edit to the Mijolnir page reminded me of this and I meant to ask you earlier -L95 (talk) 16:48, September 18, 2013 (UTC)

I think the policy is that in the stat templates, we call it depending on if the game was localized, but in the article text itself and gallery captions, we call it by it's localized name. Personally, I'd just use the localized names for everything, but folks are stubborn.--Otherarrow (talk) 17:51, September 18, 2013 (UTC)

How would you categorize the page Einherjar? It appears to be uncategorized. --Thenewguy34(Other) 11:14, October 10, 2013 (UTC)

"Fire Emblem: Awakening"? "Terms"? ..."Gameplay Mechanics"?--Otherarrow (talk) 11:15, October 10, 2013 (UTC)
Just wondering, I wanted to clean out the uncategorized sections. Thanks. --Thenewguy34(Other) 11:17, October 10, 2013 (UTC)

Improperly-Named File TemplateEdit

I feel it is imperative for me to say a few words with regards to your recent edits to the images in which I have placed the template in. First off, is there any need to adopt such a condescending tone with the comments you made? Not sure exactly how I may have offended, but what part of the messages I enclosed within each usage of the template constitutes as "whining"? In this respect, since it is established that I have used the template erroneously, please do so enlighten me as to which template I SHOULD employ if I feel a file is not named in a specific/standardised-enough manner.

Do understand that I added the template out of goodwill; In the case of weapon icons, I personally feel that files of such a nature, that is to say, ones which feature images of items/weapons that concurrently appear across several titles should be distinguished by the respective games that they appear in. As an example, in the case of Dark Breath FE12, the name, by itself, is not specific enough - Especially considering how the icon in question appears exclusively in FE3 alone, in spite of the fact that the weapon itself has manifested in subsequent titles. Also, in the case of the Laura series of battle model images, I merely wished for them to be named in accordance to the standard format for a majority of the other battle model images I have uploaded onto this wiki.

Call me overtly petty, obsessive, needlessly nit-picky or what-have-you over the issue of the file-naming system, but I personally feel that more can be done to better organise files on the wiki; Oft times I have seen files named in a different format from the standard one employed, and as much as I'd like to help fix these fallacies, I don't actually possess the permission to do so (nor do I deign to request to be granted such a privilege). Apologies in advance if this message comes across as being hostilely antagonising to you. ----Engweimin User - Talk 15:06, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know it was you who added the template. I recall there was another user who basically slapped the template on images that technically had nothing wrong with their filenames, but had something like "Oh, the image is 'Krom.jpg' but the page is at Chrom now so it needs a move." or other stuff like that, and I generally got sick of it, since it seemed that they requested the template not so they can report actual misnamed files, but so they can whine about images not being named just right. Because of this, I just kinda came to associate the template with whining in general, so for that I apologize. We don't have a concrete policy on naming images. If everything is spelled correctly, identifies what is being shown, doesn't have excess .jpgs or whatever, and isn't something just stupid (for example, the Apocalypse image used to be named "File:Ray, Son of Jaffar", no filetype and all, and I just had to facepalm at that) I generally don't think we should worry about it. It's a slippery slope. If we rename this set of images for arbitrary reasons, why not those? Or those? Or those? And then we have to correct all the file links and deal with all the redirects and it's a lot of hassle for something so minor. As for Dark Breath, sure, whatever. I'll move it, though I still don't see the big deal, even if I can get where you are coming from. I do think that the Laura images are fine as they are. I am not saying you can't have your own personal classification system with image names, or anything like that.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:55, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

New Rally PageEdit

A user recently created a page for the Rally Skills seen here. I fixed it up and reformatted it however I cannot rename it Rally since that seems to be hyperlinked to the Order Page. I'd like for that link to be broken so that the Rally page can be properly named that. Thanks—Nauibotics (talk) 05:13, October 28, 2013 (UTC)

Lopto Sword vs. Loptyr SwordEdit

I'm slightly confused about your stance on this aspect of the Lopto/Loptyr discussion. I mean, it's the same situation as Lopto Empire/Sect/etc. right? Just asking becuse you reverted everything but the sword stuff. Is there something I'm overlooking? In any case, I'm curious as to where the discussion will go.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 06:20, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

I didn't realize what he was doing at the time, and I was just fixing links. Yeah, I'd move the sword back.--Otherarrow (talk) 13:15, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, that's fine.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 19:32, November 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hi! Um, I was wondering.. could you maybe edit the Navigation bar on the wiki to include more lists, particularly of the games, then maybe a more sorted list of the characters? I can lay one out for you if you don't have the time. I just think it would make browsing the wiki a bit easier, especially since there are lots of games in the series. Hope you consider. Thanks in advance :D ~ redtalk64 09:05, November 13, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm? Personally, since there are so many games (and the titles can get rather long. Looking at you "Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem ~Heroes of Light and Shadow~" and "TearRing Saga Series: Berwick Saga: Lazberia Chronicle Chapter 174". Hell, "Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light" is pretty cumbersome) I do think trying to list them all in the navigation sidebar would just be unfeasible from a aesthetic point of view. The longer titles would stretch out and take up multiple lines, and the whole thing would just push down more vital functions, such as the community links, the search bar, and/or the toolbox. Also, you really want me to sort a list of hundreds and hundreds of characters and post it on the navigation bar? (I am not saying a list of games is undoable, I've seen Wikis who have done it, but they cover games either with far fewer games or some way to further simply the list instead of listing everything)--Otherarrow (talk) 13:52, November 13, 2013 (UTC)

We bascially already have that stuff, right? All major categories, as well as all games and media, are linked on the main page. Many categories, including all games, each have a navigation template at the bottom of each article page with relevant links included. And nearly every page that requires one has a navigation template attached in some way. Honestly, I'm hard pressed to see the error of our current arrangement.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 21:42, November 13, 2013 (UTC)

Template ConfusionEdit

I am not sure if this is possible, but is there any chance we can have this page locked:

People keep accidentally editing it as they dont understand it's a template instead of editing the pages it produces.

Best regards,--Vality Scythe (talk) 20:05, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, fair enough. I know what you mean. The page has been locked. Sorry for the trouble.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:11, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

All the ____ Tonics have the wrong page names, but I can't seem to move the pages because they're already redirects?Edit

I noticed Luck Tonic, Strength Tonic, etc. are called potions in their page names, but the pages themselves call them tonics. I double checked awakening, and they're called tonics ingame. I tried to move the pages to the right names but they all seem to be redirect pages(and I can't move a page to an already existing one). I'm sorry, I'm not too familiar with moving pages like this can you fix this/tell me how to fix this? I was thinking just copy-pasting them, but that doesn't seem like a good idea, as it would mess with the history, iirc -L95 (talk) 01:45, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

How odd. Well, I fixed it. I wonder just how the heck this happened? The X Potion is from when just the Japanese version was out, and when the localization came out, folks updated the page but made redirects instead of page moves?--Otherarrow (talk) 02:06, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, AgainEdit

Hey Otherarrow, what's up? Anyway, yeah, my edits have slowly been drying up to not nearly a trickle as of late, I realize. Although I have admittedly been lurking quite a bit. Suffice to say I've had some competing interests that needed attending to for much of the year...anyway, with holidays and such nearing, I will have much more time than I've had in a while to devote to editing and such again. Yes, I have an inbox of corrections and revisions and such too packed full to ignore any longer. So yeah. =P

So any major stuff or things you might like help working on in the coming weeks or whatever? I noticed an editor pointed you in the direction of the treasure trove of TCG images I showed you from a while back that we didn't have, which is great. In the absence of any specific requests, I have a couple of unfinished ones of my own.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 06:58, December 3, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm. Off the top of my head, just the TCG images really. Which I've been putting off due to the one series taking me all day. Sorry about that. ._.--Otherarrow (talk) 13:06, December 3, 2013 (UTC)

What file format are you uploading them as?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 22:08, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

The images at the source are jpgs, so I am uploading them as such.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:07, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

Merging Poleax and HalberdEdit

I noticed that they are still two seperate pages. The Halberd is pretty much the GBA version of the Poleax, just with a different name. They pretty much focus around being able to hit horseback for additional damage. Can we agree to merge them? --Thenewguy34(Other) 20:13, December 7, 2013 (UTC)

A lot of weapons share effects with other weapons. We don't merge every instance of that happening. Unless they share the same Japanese name, I'd leave it be.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:40, December 7, 2013 (UTC)

However, this is a user blog, and thus, I do not have the power to change it; you do. I checked and confirmed that "Skill and Unit" does not link to anything, so can you delete it please?--Thenewguy34(Other) 14:51, December 24, 2013 (UTC)

Message from a user who didn't sign their postEdit

I do not see why you removed information from the Shield of Seals Page. That was perfectly valid information.

And technically Camus's Portraits were in order, just not in the order of release, rather chronological order. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hwrdjacob (talk • contribs).

No it wasn't. It was you adding speculation. Don't do that please. Only add facts.
No, they weren't. "Portraits from Shadow Dragon and New Mystery, then Gaiden, then the Dark Dragon, then every other image of Camus, then BS and Mystery portraits" is not any sort of proper order. Also, no other page on the wiki organizes portraits in chronological order. We have always done it in production order, as that is what actually makes sense, as the purpose is to show how the portrait design has evolved throughout the series. Please don't randomly change up the order of things, especially if you can't even group all images of the same time (in this case portraits) together.
Also, sign your post for Pete's sake. You can do it with --~~~~, just like the message on the talk page edit screen tells you too.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:58, December 27, 2013 (UTC)

Before a massive fight breaks out, let me point out three (3) things:

1: only factual information was added, and the fact you are required to complete the Shield of Seals before being able to fight Medeus is a fact.

2: The whole thing about the curse can be seen throughout the Akeniea Series, with Camus canonically losing his memory, falling in love with Teeta, and coming back in Monsho no Nazo, In fact he wouldn't even leave Akeniea for Teeta unless he loved her. Why not marry Nyna than go back?

3: The "curse", as Stated in Shadow Dragon, dooms the romantic relationships of the bearers when it passes hands. With Marth marring Shiida, and the above information in mind, it is completly phesable, and practically spelled out, that the curse did affect someone, just not the new bearer.

Please, if I am truly at fault here, make me aware of it, but please, point out what information is of a "speculative" nature and don't just say "Your wrong and i'm right".

And i do apologise for Camus's page, prehaps that was a bit rash of me.

03:02, December 27, 2013 (UTC)Hwrdjacob (talk)

Except that is exactly what you are doing: speculating at things never said and then saying "I am right, you are wrong". Are those things possible? Maybe. Is it canon? No. Now, point by point.
  • 1.And already stated elsewhere. The point was removed because it was pointless.
  • 2.That is you speculating. The only thing attributed to the curse is Nyna losing Camus in Shadow Dragon, as already mentioned elsewhere. All the crap about Camus's love life after Shadow Dragon has nothing to do with the curse at all, and you saying it does is pretty much you making things up.
  • 3.The real reason the curse didn't affect Marth is because in Mystery, the curse isn't from Artemis, but from Ardha removing the Spheres, which Marth restores to the Shield during the events of Mystery. So it's a moot point, as the curse is lifted after Mystery and anything about Nyna or Awakening is in the field of "making things up".
Honestly, sorry if I come off as rude, but you rambling and theorizing in main article space and then taking a poor attitude about it when I removed it is kinda bugging me.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:12, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
I do not intend to upset, nor do I intentionally, and believe me, you would be certian if i had a poor attitude. My point is, Nintendo has this habit of, 98.4 percent of the time, when remaking a game telling the original to go die in a fire, save for extremely rare circumstances. They did it with Metroid, bridging MZM directly with MP1 and retconing most info in M1, pretty much to the point of retconing everything about it at least subtlely, and Pokemon, where Gen 1 and Gen 2 were completely written out of existance by a reboot and FR/LG/HG/SS, so why not with Fire Emblem? Besides that, if the curse did originate with the orbs, why on earth go back and say otherwise later? and about Camus' love life, that would be a direct result of the curse if it affected Nyna. The Curse was lifted when the Orbs were placed back in? Where does it say that?
Hwrdjacob (talk) 03:27, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Those are unrelated franchises by different development teams, so I don't see how it applies to FE. Anyway, yeah, in Mystery, the curse is said to be a result of the orbs being removed, and thus it'd stop if the orbs were put back in. I don't recall the exact chapter or verse, sorry. As for why they changed it? I dunno. If I could read the writer's minds, this wiki would be so better off. Anyway, Camus's plot was written before the curse existed (both the original Mystery version and the Shadow Dragon version) so saying that everything he did that didn't end up with him hooking up with Nyna is because of the curse is really iffy (and that is not even going into free will).--Otherarrow (talk) 03:53, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Authors pre plan storys all the time, and despite what Nintendo has done with Zelda, it isn't too much of a strech to say they had the Camus side plot planned out, esp. considering his at the time pointless appearance in Gaiden .
Hwrdjacob (talk) 05:45, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Even so, that doesn't necessarily mean that they planned it to all be do to some curse, especially since the curse is first brought up in the third game and not even in context of Camus. The Artemis thing is retcon for the remakes, but we can't just assume it retcons everything concerning Camus, in part because his story spans the Akaneia series. Understand? (Also, Zeke's appearance in Gaiden isn't pointless. He serves a important role in establishing that not everyone in Rigel is gunghoe ready for war and reveals that Rudolf isn't as bad as he seems to be...)--Otherarrow (talk) 11:37, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
JK Rowling had the whole Harry Potter Series planned out from the start without any reference to the Diary being a Horcrux. And the remakes cover everything but Gaiden. Including BS Fire Emblem. And Zeke's appearence had plenty of relavence to the plot in Gaiden, but no real connection to Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light other than implications that he was Camus. So? He's alive, didn't really affect the first game much did it? And that's if he really was Camus, for all those guys knew he could have just looked a hell of a lot like him. It didn't have any relevence in game until Mystery... at least to the players. Hwrdjacob (talk) 18:12, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Fire Emblem isn't Harry Potter, Shouzou Kaga isn't JL Rowling, and video games aren't books. I don't see the relevance. Also, blatant portrait reuse and his story explicitly saying he has amnesia and washed up right after Dark Dragon? Fans aren't stupid. I do sincerely doubt they fully planned out Mystery from Dark Dragon or even from Gaiden. And watch your tone. This is no need to get rude and pushy.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:17, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
I apologize if I came off as rude. That was not my intent. I was merely using the Harry Potter series as an example of a commen storytelling tecnuiqe: pre planning the story before that specific installment is made, it makes the story flow much better than if the author/creator/developer wrote it as they go along. Gaiden has at least one other portrait that I know of that looks like it is an altered SDatBoL Portrait, so back then people might have noticed the other portrait and assumed they reused Camus's portrait and didn't alter it as heavily as the other one. I admit, it is a blatent rehash with a pallete swap, but back then it could have been completely possible. And I apologise for steering the topic away from debating weather or not FESD and FEME:HLaS are retcons that "de canon" FE1 and 3, like other Nintendo franchises have. Hwrdjacob (talk) 23:33, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, I checked once, aside from Camus and the Whitewings (who, surprise, they are used to represent the same characters), the only reused portrait was Nyna edited into Teeta. Trust me, we'd notice if they reused more, since there are only so many Dark Dragon portraits anyway. Anyway, I think it's better that we steered away from that, since it's pretty impossible to prove.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:25, December 28, 2013 (UTC)
I thought long and hard about this, and the only way i see we can determine weather or not they are official, word of god retcons is to compare the origional Mystery and BSFE to SD and MotE:HoLaS and the BSFE remake, see which matches up more consistently with The other games (Gaiden and Awakening in peticular). Now, i'm talking about the story, classes, and Charatcter features, i we are to compare actual gameplay we'll be here till Doomsday.
Hwrdjacob (talk) 01:12, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
I'd not worry about it.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:14, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
Then we are just going to bicker over what information takes priority? Obviously i'm not suggesting we remove information, but rather prioritize it. Then again the wiki is fine as-is... maybe this comparition could be a project for the wiki? IDK...Hwrdjacob (talk) 01:27, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
The wiki just mentions both where appropriate. No need to bicker about it.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:45, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, fair enough. Hwrdjacob (talk) 23:01, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Message for the OA!Edit

Figured I may as well ask you here, since asking you anywhere else would be inappropriate methinks. ^^;;

In any case, on the mainpage Talk Page, I asked this question you think the site should have a TCG page, if it doesn't already? I can probably upload the TCG images myself and put them on pages (since you know, from the other other wiki, uploading images is what I do)...I just don't know how the TCG page would be. I don't plan on making any pages or adding to articles aside from images, since I'm still pretty new to the series (LPing FE8 Normal Mode blind at the moment, and currently playing FE12 when I'm not LPing...), so...yea. ^^; If anything, MOST of what I would edit or upload for are for the manaketes so...there's that to keep in mind if you see me doing anything. ^^;;; Xenomic (talk) 07:18, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, we probably should have a page for the trading card game, but heck if I know how it would work. I don't know how the card game plays, I just know it has pretty pictures. Guh, I still have to go back and check the remaining sets for stuff to upload. Sorry for my laziness. But yes, if you can, uploading the other images would be nice, and, if you can, making the TCG page would also be rad. (On a unrelated note, wait, you LP?)--Otherarrow (talk) 11:32, December 28, 2013 (UTC)
I'll get to it maybe eventually with uploading images. Though having a list of what the wiki doesn't have would be very useful...

I'm sad that the other images are all fanart they wouldn't count at all? Oh well...guess it can't be helped. Some of them were really nice looking too. :<

Yes, I've been doing LPs for the past 4 years or so. Xenomic (talk) 20:24, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I've been meaning to write up the list for Series 3 on the forum page, but as you know, I am lazy and stupid and procrastinate everything. I can write that up for you know if you want?--Otherarrow (talk) 20:29, December 28, 2013 (UTC)
Sure, if you'd like. It might be a while before I DO upload anything though, so be warned! Xenomic (talk) 20:34, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

I don't mean to interject, but we already have a page for the TCG, actually. It is linked on the main page under "Others". Article is "Fire Emblem: Trading Card Game".--Aivass Remurias (talk) 12:09, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Oh we do? Cool beans. Shows what I know then.--Otherarrow (talk) 14:06, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Perhaps we should have the gallery for that split into subpages, one for each set then? Would make it easier to navigate (though finding images of all the promos will be quite the task...). Still sad about the other TCG images that can't be uploaded but oh well I guess...

And now a new question that's not related to the TCG: I've been playing FE12 recently, and while I missed on getting some dialogues and such, I've been getting some anyways. How would this wiki handle these? These are referring to the "Talk" thing (upper right option in the Preparations screen). I'm assuming something akin to the Support pages that I've seen for FE13 (I didn't see any for FE8, which surprises me. Mayhaps we should do a page for FE8 and the other FE games that have supports, no?). In addition, I'm also getting the dialogue and such for things such as death quotes, battle quotes, "How's Everyone" quotes, Recruit conversations, etc., so I may be able to help out on this in the end (if needed, I can always go back through the game later with codes to quickly get anything that's missed or whatever...). For more on the dialogues, I have made a PiratePad page:

So yeah! Do let me know either which way! The only question I have for FE12 (for anyone that can help) is how to make it so that a character can support another? I need to know this if I'm to get specific Support convos and whatnot (most of which I may have to do in another playthrough. I already have plans on getting some specific Supports, and the ones for Tiki are going to be tricky to get methinks without abusing savestates or whatnot if there's a specific way of getting Support Points or whatever...). Xenomic (talk) 08:42, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

Having yet to play New Mystery, I am unsure of how exactly how that all works, but yeah, we probably should have subpages for transcriptions of supports and such for all games, as well as ones for special conversations within chapters and such. The death, battle, recruitment etc quotes would go under the "Quotes" section on the main character page, of course (similar to how the Awakening pages do it)
As for the TCG, yeah, with how many cards there are, we probably should split into subpages for each series. (Speaking of which, I should get off my lazy ass and move on to the Thracia 776 set)--Otherarrow (talk) 12:23, January 4, 2014 (UTC)
Haven't gotten around to the whole FE12 thing as I'm still not sure on that yet. I've uploaded a crapton of images tonight (93 images from what I see). Had I not been uploading specific images for pages, I probably theoretically COULD have uploaded the remaining images. Also, what are we going to do with the Special Country Packs section in the Promos? They're basically reprints of cards from other sets but...with gloss. @_@;;
I may very well attempt to upload sprites for terrains as well, and maybe other things for other games, depending. Seeing as I've nothing left for the FFWiki other than cleanup, I can at least make the pages HERE look nice with the images, no? ^^; Xenomic (talk) 10:35, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
...Yeah, I don't think we need the gloss. We should probably note them somewhere, maybe upload the image of the pack they come in, but having the cards themselves is probably redundant if they aren't different aside from gloss.
Terrain sprites would be nice. We still need a lot of graphics from some of the older games too. (I have a probably outdated list of NES sprites we are missing if you want). So yes please!--Otherarrow (talk) 14:06, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
Well, uploaded some terrain images from FE11/12 (they're both the same sprites so it doesn't matter). The problem is...well, what's on Spriter's Resource doesn't really help as what's there isn't what you see in the screenshots I uploaded. Take a look at either Fort or Village, then compare them to this:
They just don't match up, so I can't really use these icons. Makes finding the right things right (in addition, the wiki doesn't have pages for various things like House or River, which I would assume it'd want?). So yeah, I'll keep at it for the terrain stuff at least but... Xenomic (talk) 09:04, January 9, 2014 (UTC)
Hmm. How odd. Anyway, I dunno what to tell you. Terrian pages has never been my expertise. Try to make and detail and upload what you can. Sorry for my lack of help.--Otherarrow (talk) 13:53, January 9, 2014 (UTC)
Welp, uploaded the terrain stuff from Sacred Stones. I did come up with a dilemma though with doing screenshots vs sprites. Sprites would probably be fine for things like Snags, Pillars, Villages, Forests, etc....however, with other tiles such as Sea, River, Desert, and Peaks, sprites wouldn't do them justice I think. So, I uploaded everything as you see in the Upload Log. Figured that'd be the best way to go. If you think any of those don't need to be that way/I should just find a sprite for them somewhere (dunno where though...), I can try to do that instead. Don't think there's too terribly much else I can get terrain-wise from FE8, and don't think there's actually any spells or whatnot that I need to get either...UNLESS we want GIFs of the various spells, animations, etc.?? Xenomic (talk) 10:13, January 10, 2014 (UTC)
I honestly don't know what to do there, but I personally like seeing the tiles in context. Helps get their meaning accross better I feel. Do we want gifs of spells? How would that work?--Otherarrow (talk) 13:16, January 10, 2014 (UTC)
To make a gif of something like that you just record it and convert it to a gif with some program or some online converter. I've submitted a few gifs before for the spell pages. (and on another note, should the fe6 forblaze image be added back? Someone removed it after I added the gif version of the FE7 animation)L95 (talk) 14:03, January 10, 2014 (UTC)

Rolf Prototype and LeonardoEdit

In the trivia section of Leonardo, the link to IGN has been skewed. I want to upload an image from that IGN gallery (use this link [4] for now), but I am unsure on the copyright on it, because I do not know if IGN uploaded the image or if the creators of Path of Radiance created the image. Since I know you have some knowledge on this, what do you think we should do? --Thenewguy34(Other) 15:22, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Eh? No, I don't know anything about this sorry. But yeah, I really doubt that IGN created the image from whole cloth, so normal copyright should do?--Otherarrow (talk) 15:26, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Ok! Now I've had enough otherarrow! (Read please)Edit

I tried to talk with you, and you didn't even read it! I was not trying to attack your page! I mean, this talk page is huge, and I'm surprised anyone is even reading this right now! Now, I'll summarize what I was telling you before. Not everyone enters this wikia from the front page! Ok, and you should make a template that shows the article has spoilers. Ok?

Now, if we came to a compromise then I'll show you my natural habitat(wikia I'm found editing most on) which is 'worms wiki. If you play the video game worms, then we could use your help.

P.s. if you choose to go there then might I give you advice, in that wiki I am known as "that random ADS guy"( 20:54, December 29, 2013 (UTC))lances beat swords, swords beat axes, axes beat lances, and figgy pudding beats everything

Eh? I didn't get any message. Oh? That was you? Don't edit other people's userpages for any reason. Also, while I appreciate the concern, I don't appriciate a new user causing a massive edit war because they think they have the right to change policy of a wiki they just found. Also, thanks, but I never heard of Worms and I don't need any advice at the moment.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:40, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Ross (The Sacred Stones)Edit

I think Ross (The Sacred Stones) can be unprotected now, the vandalism issue was three months ago. If it happens again, then you know what to do. Can you please unprotect it?--Thenewguy34(Other) 21:28, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Done!--Otherarrow (talk) 22:40, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not a vandal! Now stop calling me one!Edit

Yes, I'm the dude who unwillingly caused a counter edit war on the emmeryn page. And I'm not a vandal. I told you 1,000,000,000 Times! I was just trying to get a message to you!!!!!! I can make extremely useful edits if you would just give me a chance and some people enter this wikia from other pages, search engines don't send you to the website of your search, they send you to the webpage of your search Now stop calling me a vandal, I'm pretty sensitive and young( 14:50, December 31, 2013 (UTC))swords beat lances, lances beat axes, axes beat swords, and figgy pudding magic crushes everything

I didn't call you one? Calm down buddy. Relax. It isn't hard to get into the swing of regular editing, I mean, even a moron like me could do it. You'll be fine.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:32, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

(Insert talk page title here)Edit

Did you begin countering my edits on the lucina page? Cause I'm suspicious that another vandal also named otherarrow is doing this, if it was you, then one word to describe this situation, awkward...The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

No, that was me. In this case, you were just plain wrong, and blatantly so. You actually have the gall to accuse people of not even having played the game and being wrong when you didn't even know that Kjelle was Sully's daughter? ...How do you even make that mistake? Seriously, if you don't fully know what you are talking about, don't try to revert folks who are correcting your mistakes.--Otherarrow (talk) 05:05, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, I actually have finished Awakening, IP guy. Don't try to say other people haven't when you say Sully has Naga blood (she doesn't). --Bettafishrule2579 (talk) 07:01, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

Is there a page similar to the Order page for Awakening and Gaiden?Edit

Or should the versions present in those games be added to that page? I just want to make sure, as I was initially going to add the FE2 information to it, but that information only seems to be relevant to PoR and RD.

More info, in Gaiden there are two commands, Assault and Gather(units gather around the current lord, and in Awakening there is a feature called "Auto battle", which units attack. They're very similar, but I don't know if they should be separate pages or not. L95 (talk) 02:10, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

It's brings up an interesting question with relation to the much newer Rally page. Even though, yeah, Rally in FE13 is "kinda basically" the "new" Order, the way in which the game makes use of it to the exclusion of everything else previously seen with Order, I think that it is good that Rally and Order are separate pages, see? I do think it would be appropriate to add a related topics link (possibly) to each of those pages. As for your question though, L95, I would add any FE13 stuff to Rally and the FE2 stuff to Order. Just weighing in, though, just one voice. Otherarrow, what do you think?--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:20, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Otherarrow has a finer understanding/better grasp of FE2 than I do.--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:22, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Oh my. I knew of these commands, but I kinda completely forgot about them for the longest time. I do think that the "Order" page should suffice for covering the Gaiden and Awakening stuff.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:39, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Sounds good to me, then. Since that's the course of action we are taking, might I recommend that, on the Order page's opening paragraphs, and (possibly) in or around the Rally subsection of that page, that a statement or something be made to flesh out the different way FE13 uses the "Rally" differently than all games before it, like alerting the reader that there's another page called "Rally"? See, it was originally supposed to be "Cry", but it wasn't localized that way, probably because it has multiple meanings in English. Otherwise, there really wouldn't be too much of a need to even distinguish the two ("Rally" prior to FE13 vs. FE13's "Cry").--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:48, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Cause like, FE13 doesn't really use "Order" at all. Doesn't appear anywhere in game (in the strict sense).--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:50, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, I was wrong about some of what I said. I totally forgot about "Auto-Battle".--Aivass Remurias (talk) 02:52, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
...Is there something that could go on the rally page that I am not thinking of? L95 (talk) 18:24, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

Question about fire emblem awakeningEdit

I'd like to ask something, remember chapter 6 in fire emblem awakening? Well, when I got to that chapter, I selected chrom to move and he was close enough to talk to Gaius, but I thought "but then enemies will attack him more easily" so I waited until Gaius got closer, but instead, he attacked Lon'qu, and Lon'qu killed him, is there any way to bring him back without hacking?

No, if you kill Gaius in Chapter 6, you lose him forever. Start over the chapter, or start over your game if you saved after killing him. --Thenewguy34(Other) 12:02, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

RE: NamesEdit

In case you didn't see it from my userpage, I apologize for the inconvenience caused by my not putting the right names up. I was getting the pages up and was going to go back later and fix stuff then as I don't know the names off the top of my head ^^;;

I did go back and fix most of the names in Series 2 and 3, but some may still be incorrect, and some I couldn't find right (probably those that don't have the images on the pages yet but...). I'm still going to continue on with series 4, but I'll be sure to go back and fix names. Xenomic (talk) 00:47, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

Reasearch on Path of Radiance English and PAL VersionsEdit

Hello again. I don't actually own PoR, but figured scince a definitive "Yes" or "no" answer was given on the page, I decided to ask you if you could do reasearch. Another question: got an import copy of Binding Blade or a flashcart with it?Hwrdjacob (talk) 01:42, January 10, 2014 (UTC)

I don't own PoR either, sorry. No on Binding Blade either either. Sorry I can't help.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:45, January 10, 2014 (UTC)

Help with item imageEdit

Im trying to upload an image of the FE12 version of the Darksphere but the wiki won't let me. So i copy pasted directly from Google images, but the image didn't show after i published the change! Am I doing something wrong? I'm certain the file type is .png, but idk why it won't work! Hwrdjacob (talk) 01:01, January 12, 2014 (UTC) The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hwrdjacob (talk • contribs).

What exactly are you trying to upload? What is the wiki telling you? Did you check to see if we don't already have the image elsewhere on the wiki? (Not sure what the hell the Google Images copy paste stuff is about. The page history didn't show any of that)--Otherarrow (talk) 00:30, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
It's a file called "ls_ds_darksphere.png". It's the Darksphere from MotE:HolaS or FE12. The wiki says "file type verification error, suggesting that the wiki doesn't recognise png files, but I'm pretty sure i uploaded one in the past. Apparently, i was able to copy paste/ drag the image directly into the sandbox, but didn't save when i pulished, resulting in me just deleting the one you put up instead of saving the replacement. Hwrdjacob (talk) 01:01, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
I think it means that the file you are trying to upload isn't a png, or you are somehow trying to upload it as something not a png. Have you tried double checking the filetype?--Otherarrow (talk) 01:06, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
My computer's diagnostics says it's a png, so either it's a png or my computer misfiled it. Does the website it was retrieved from matter? Hwrdjacob (talk) 02:14, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
I dunno. Did you get it off of a shady site or something?--Otherarrow (talk) 02:15, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
No, I checked back and it says it's from the other wiki. Than again...Hwrdjacob (talk) 03:43, January 12, 2014 (UTC)

Don't You Agree?Edit

Hey Arrow, don't you agree there is no character as BEAST as Athos is Fire Emblem???The preceding unsigned comment was added by King Fado (talk • contribs).

Who are you and why are you posting giant resolution picutres on my page? Sign your posts with--~~~~ please.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:00, January 19, 2014 (UTC)
Oops! Please be dont delete other peoples comments. It's very rude. Thanks! The preceding unsigned comment was added by King Fado (talk • contribs).
If I ever did that, I apologize. What are you even going on about that?--Otherarrow (talk) 10:17, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

So thanks to Boo for giving me access to getting these animated sprites, I've uploaded quite a few. Already got all of the FE13 ones that he gave me, and uploaded the FE8 ones. However...I'm going to need help putting these on all of the appropriate pages for the classes (for instance, File:FE7mercenary.png) as this is going to take me forever to put them on the pages, and I still have FE1/3 animated sprites to upload as well. If you could help me out, or even get Jim to help out, that'd be fantastic and would save me a crapload of time. T-T --Xenomic (talk) 07:11, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Not sure what happened there. You tried the talk bubble out of force of habit? Anyway, you need help putting these onto pages? Hmm. I can see how this can be tough. Do you have a list of all that you uploaded? That might help. Thanks for all the help and I would be glad to help however I can.--Otherarrow (talk) 11:25, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
Must be force of habit. I seem to do 5 tildes instead of 4. ^^;;
All are in the Upload Log so far. I still got the FE1 and 3 sprites to upload, and probably some stuff regarding BS Fire Emblem. Well, List of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Classes should have everything that was uploaded. Another thing is, how should we categorize the sprites that are used in all of the games? I'd assume we'd add things like Category:Rekka no Ken Images and Category:Binding Blade Images to them if applicable, but I don't know what sprites are reused in what games. Also, you were right, seems that nobody really cares enough to look at the forums to help out. >_< Xenomic (talk) 20:13, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I've started work on the GBA images. To answer your question...I honestly don't know. Category:GBA Images for the general stuff? Just add the categories that apply? As for what is in what game...I don't know. If I recall, FE7 uses different, character based icons for at least the Cleric, Female Bishop, and Berserker (also, Legault has unique Thief and Assassin sprites alongside the normal ones), but FE8 reverted back to the more general ones from FE6. FE6 has some different battle animations than the other two as well. If that makes any sense.--Otherarrow (talk) 20:21, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for correcting the first modifications I've made. It's been a while since I edited anything, so errors were bound to happen. Sorry about that ^^;--FSF (talk) 00:16, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Nah, you are fine.--Otherarrow (talk) 00:34, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Already categorizing them now. However, they may still need recategorized later if we do so with images to make them easier to find. In any case, I am curious...should pages be set to "List of X in X" (such as List of classes in Fire Emblem: Awakening or set to "List of X X" (such as "List of Fire Emblem: Awakening Classes")? It feels like it should be the second way, but most of the things on this wiki go with the first way... Xenomic (talk) 00:49, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Most things do it the first way, so go with that for consistancy. Do you think the second way would be better? I personally don't have a preference either way, so sell me on it.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:20, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Well, if the wiki already has it set up that way, no sense in breaking it right? I'll just have to change some stuff back for that (I think FE7/8/13 are the ones I moved...just have to move them back I suppose). Xenomic (talk) 02:15, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough I suppose.--Otherarrow (talk) 02:35, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Actually, I looked over them again. Seems there are things like "List of Fire Emblem: Binding Blade Classes", but they're redirects to the actual pages. I think the "List of X X" format is more...appealing so to speak? But again, the problem is having to move everything...ugh.--Xenomic (talk) 04:26, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Like I said, I don't really have a preference. Both List of X in X and List of X X have their appeals to me. (So once again, I am no help here).--Otherarrow (talk) 04:42, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Template made in my sandbox. Maybe you can get Jbed to help out with the templates? I know he'd know what to do in a jiff, and he'd know what I'm trying to do with these templates. Xenomic (talk) 22:47, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

I like it. The one problem I have is that there is no way to tell what those stats actually are once the numbers have been inputed unless you already know how the template is arranged, you know? (Would JBed be willing to help us? It'd be nice if he did.)--Otherarrow (talk) 22:55, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Just updated the template so give it another look-see. You'll be able to see them now (and the coding is clean too. Snagged from the List of FFV Accessories page that I did long ago). I dunno, you could ask him if he's in IRC or not.
I also posted this on Serenes in the topic too so give that a look-see as well.--Xenomic (talk) 23:00, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I see it. Yeah, that's an improvement. It looks pretty good to go, and doesn't even scrunch up in the Oasis skin like the old one.
Yeah, I saw! How were you planning on adjusting for difficulty? Just posting the stats multiple times Doing what Tanis Manor does and post the modifiers?
Sure, I'll check with JBed once I get a moment. What should I say exactly?--Otherarrow (talk) 23:08, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Ask JBed if he'd be interested in helping the FE wiki with some tables and making them more presentable to the wiki. Maybe even see if he can do something about compressing tables into one or something. Trying to avoid what Tanas Manor is doing since we don't want to copy them (and Boo rather us didn't really). I haven't been able to decide on what to do for the difficulties so maybe JBed will have an idea, or anyone over in the IRC. Xenomic (talk) 23:36, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, fair enough. Alright, once I get done with these Akaneia class map sprite (since I've been moving at a snail's pace with that as it is), I'll ask JBed about helping us out with tables and making them presentable (and compressing tables too!) Sorry, I feel a little scatterbrained today.--Otherarrow (talk) 23:53, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
Check the sandbox when you get the chance. Drake fixed things up, though people are having [5] that happening to them in the default skin so...maybe JBed would understand that? Otherwise, the template works fine
Also seems like there ARE fans of the original look too. Oi vey. x_x;; Xenomic (talk) 05:41, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
Good to hear that we got it fixed up. ...What is happening in that screenshot exactly? It looks like a screenshot of an older version of your sandbox.
There is? Well poo.--Otherarrow (talk) 13:22, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

I don't know. Many people who I linked to my Sandbox had that problem where it didn't show up correctly for them, but other people saw it correctly (mostly those in the IRC). So I have no idea what happened.

Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about the old one. I still think this new one is better anyways. Just have to fix up all of the Awakening pages to use the new template... Xenomic (talk) 21:25, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

How strange. Anyway, yeah, we just have to fix things up, but it isn't too bad and we even got someone helping us out a bit.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:34, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Righto then. So I got a new template up in my Sandbox (can just go to my main userpage to get to the sandbox). Check the bottom. I'm also leaving options in the forums for which one would be better (honestly, #2 might work out fine, but I don't know why the tables aren't working right. They don't look like any of the tables over on the FFWiki and I'm using the same code...*sigh).

EDIT - Also seems some people are saying either turn the red on the front page back to yellow, or make it a softer red as it's hard to read the messages in it. Thought I'd throw that your way. Xenomic (talk) 07:27, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

I saw! I gave my comments on the forums! As for tables, I don't know what is up there. Maybe there is some fancy modifications the FFWiki has? As for the main page, really? Aww. I've been trying to get a red and blue thing going as per Klok's suggestion, but as you've probably notice, I am really bad at picking out colors. Any help here would be appreciated.--Otherarrow (talk) 15:20, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Question (very random and unrelated)Edit

Do you go to school or know any kids that go to school? Answer in the poll below. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs).

I'm not doing this. Only message me here if you actually have something to say on topic concerning the wiki.--Otherarrow (talk) 21:26, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
I never said you had to ( 21:59, January 24, 2014 (UTC))
Fair enough, but consider it a open message about responces here in general. We could do without randomness, especially since I actually use this for wiki business.--Otherarrow (talk) 22:15, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

(Another) question regarding fire emblem awakeningEdit

Anyway, when I downloaded the free DLC (extra paralouges) my map never made a connection to them, I really want to play them, but it's currently impossible, can anyone tell me how to get to them?

( 15:58, January 25, 2014 (UTC))you don't need to answer, but I would appreciate it.

The extra paralouges only become accessible once you reach the final chapter.--Otherarrow (talk) 16:00, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Hello, Mario Party Wiki Founder/MarioWiki Admin, Dreb607 would like to ask if you would like to be our sister wiki with the following wikis:

  • [ MarioWiki]
  • [ Mario Party Wiki]
  • [ Mario Kart Racing Wiki]The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dreb607 (talk • contribs).
Eh? Sorry, I don't know much about how wiki affiliation would even work, nor am I familiar with your wikis (No offense. I just never seen them before). Thanks for the offer though. Sorry, I don't really know how to respond. I am flattered that someone wants to be affiliated with us I guess.--Otherarrow (talk) 03:09, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, FSF here !

I've been wondering for a short while : do you think it would be a good idea to add translation of classes / skills / weapons below the trivia part on their respective page?--FSF (talk) 20:00, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Don't we already noted translations in the opening line? Or am I misunderstanding you?--Otherarrow (talk) 20:04, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

I mean an overall translation, where we put up how the names of classes / skills / weapons are said in any languages (for example, Great Knight translates as Grand Chevalier in french, and so forth). Of course, I can understand it would be rather a redundant information to put up on this wikia, but localized names are widely different in many languages, so I thought "why not". I wanted your input about this, that's all.

PS : Is there a way to make follow-up replies when someone responds to my comment ? I believe so, but I don't know where to go for that. ^^;

FSF (talk) 20:16, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Well, I think the alternate names part of the opening line does note names and different languages, it's just that we don't know most of them aside from English, Japanese, and fan translated English at the moment, with a few exceptions. Of course, at the same time, if we add all of those names, it would get cluttered quick. This reminds me of the alternate names option I considered adding to the character template...--Otherarrow (talk) 20:31, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

We can limit the translations to the skills only, since those names are different enough from the english / japanese translation... But if it's a no-go, then it's alright.--FSF (talk) 20:41, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

I don't see any problem with that so far. We are still listing it in the opening right?--Otherarrow (talk) 20:50, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

True. I will start with all the non-DLC skills available in Fire Emblem Awakening, mostly because I don't know if they keep the same names between games such as Radiant Dawn or before. The preceding unsigned comment was added by FSF (talk • contribs).

Project sumia page (contains proof why action is just)Edit

Please protect the sumia page while it says that she is chrom's Canon wife I have proof, go to Bing, search "is sumia chrom's Canon wife in FEA?" And select result 2.

P.s. please clean up your talk page, my kindle suffers from unlock while I edit it.

Except she isn't Chrom's canon wife. How can there be a canon wife when you can choose who he marries. Anyway, yeah, I probably should archive this. Sorry for the trouble.--Otherarrow (talk) 01:06, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
