The Volant Axe (空投げ斧 Soranageono lit. Aerial Axe in the Japanese version) is a ranged axe from Fire Emblem: Awakening. It has few uses, but it is effective against flying units.

Etymology
Volant Axe literally means "Flying Axe" in French.
Trivia
- The Volant Axe is the only Axe weapon that deals extra damage to flying-status units. It is particularly effective against the Pegasus Knight classline, which all uses Lances (which is beaten by the Axe in the Weapon Triangle) as part of their weaponry and sports low Defenses.
- The overall design of the Volant Axe bears a (near) exact resemblance to certain models of Kpingas. This is highly intentional considering that the Kpingas are indeed throwing blades, and the in-game description for the Volant Axe even deems that it is designed to be thrown (albeit skyward).
