“Dedue receives a concerning missive about his people, who continue to bear the burden of oppression based on the blame for the Tragedy of Duscur.”
—Opening Narration

War for the Weak is Dedue's Paralogue Chapter in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This chapter takes place at the Mountains in the Faerghus region, and is only available on the Azure Moon route during White Clouds after completing Chapter 5.

Story[]

An uprising in Duscur causes Viscount Kleiman to call for help from the Kingdom capital and the church for assistance in suppressing the rebels. The surrounding Kingdom nobles have already sent a number of troops to help put down the uprising. Dimitri and Dedue hear about this, and Dimitri requests that the church allow the Blue Lions class to go to Duscur to avoid unnecessary slaughter on both sides.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

In this battle you must fight alongside the Kingdom army in order to defeat the soldiers from Duscur. However, the aim is to defeat as many of the Duscur army as possible before the Kingdom soldiers can in order to receive a larger reward. In order to do this, it is best to send the majority of your army south immediately towards the Duscur general. If you take the north path to him then he is likely to be defeated by Kingdom soldiers before you can reach him. However, be careful, as the Duscur general boasts an extremely high attack power of around 40 - more than enough to kill any of your units in one or two hits, especially if you enter the paralogue when it first becomes available. This is thankfully counteracted by the fact that the general will not move, as well as his mediocre defenses and attack speed. Send a smaller number of your units to the north to defeat as many of the Duscur soldiers in that section as possible, but let your main ranged attackers head towards the general so that he can be defeated with much lower risk.

It is difficult, if not outright impossible, to rescue all the Duscur soldiers. Using a Stride battalion or two, as well as flying units to traverse the difficult terrain, is the best way to cause the Duscur soldiers to fight the player's army instead of the Kingdom's army. As a great majority of Duscur soldiers use physical weapons, physical tanks such as Dedue do a great job attracting their attention.

You cannot attack the Kingdom soldiers in this battle. The Duscur soldiers will also engage the Kingdom soldiers, meaning that if you do not proceed quickly to the bottom of the map then you will potentially lose some of your reward as the Kingdom soldiers defeat the Duscur soldiers. It is still possible to heal the kingdom soldiers for extra experience, or to rescue them to prevent them from killing more Duscur soldiers.

Trivia[]

  • If this mission is not completed, Dedue will die during the timeskip. This makes this the only paralogue in the game that will ultimately decide a unit's fate.
