The Wing Clipper is a Sword that debuted in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.
Overview[]
It deals effective damage against all flying units. This sword is especially useful Chapter 4 of the game, in which the player engages many Pegasus Knights and Falcon Knights. The Wing Clipper is also lightweight, making it an ideal weapon for myrmidons Ayra and Chulainn by giving them high attack power without penalties to their Speed or Defense.
In 21 years since its first and only appearance, the sword returns in the spin-off title Fire Emblem Warriors, serving the same function. Being able to obtain Wing Clipper also allows its weapon trait, Wingslayer, to be able to be found on random weapon drops for swords.
Wing Clipper later appear in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, under the name of Wingthresher. Wingthresher is the default weapon for Duke Holst Sigiswald Goneril, the older brother of Hilda who often clashes with the Wyvern Riders of Almyra.
