The Wishblade (ゼーンズフト Zēnzufuto lit. Sehnsucht) is a Lance that is exclusive to the Tellius Series of Fire Emblem. Contrary to its name, it is indeed not a sword. Functioning as the most stellar lance in the Tellius titles, the Wishblade is one that is first wielded by the Daein General Bryce in Path of Radiance, and later passed down to the Begnion Sentinel Levail in Radiant Dawn. When equipped, this lance grants its wielder a bonus of +3 Luck, alongside minutely increasing their ability to perform critical attacks.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
The Wishblade's Japanese name, Sehnsucht, is German for "longing" or "yearning," hence the "wish" in the English name Wishblade.
The item's internal name, ZANEZPHTE, is a corruption of the transliteration of Sehnsucht into Japanese as ゼーンズフト Zēnzufuto. The Spanish, French, and Italian translations of the name--Zanezphte, Zeenzuft, and Zanephte--are based on this.
